Hilary Duff heading to 'Beverly Hills, 90210'?

Hilaryduff_l According to E! Online, Hilary Duff has been offered the role of Annie Mills on the Beverly Hills, 90210 spinoff. Maybe I'm crazy, but Hilary Duff + 90210 seems kind of brilliant. The girl is definitely shrugging off her squeaky-clean Disney image (um, scorpion down her pants?), and 90210 will certainly offer plenty of opportunities for her to be less than wholesome. If she accepts the offer, she'll be playing a emo-listening teen who is also into theater. While the whole idea of a 90210 spinoff makes me want to die a little, if Hilary Duff is in it, I would check out at least one episode, just to see how she does.

What about you, PopWatchers? Excited about this latest 90210 casting rumor, or are you over the idea of the show's remake already?

Hilary Duff is awesome. She is an amazing and talented actress/singer. She's always been labbeled as a 'Good Girl' and Now that she is growing up maybe and doing more and more movies (Don't get me wrong i'm not complaining). I think 5 years on now from Lizzie McGuire I think a new Tv Series would work well for her, acting as a older person. She is amazing and it make ratings go off the roof for her to star. I think she should go for it!

I absolutely LOVE Hilary Duff, and would see Her in anything She does--She is not only established as a singer, but also an actress, She has a clothing line out (Stuff By Hilary Duff), two perfumes, works with MANY charities, and I was LUCKY enough to meet Her when She was filming Her forthcoming movie "Greta" in my neighboring town last fall! She has ten movies out so far, with three or four more coming out VERY soon.
I was a HUGE "Beverly Hills, 90210" fan when the show was on the air, and Hil being in it would be a MAJOR bonus for me!

I just love Hilary. She is classy and down to earth. She has a face that you cant take your eyes off of. I use to watch 90210 back when it first started and I would love for to appear in the new version. I dont have a lot of money and wish that I could dress in the fashion style Hilary does. she always looks so fancy and stylish. Hilary Duff you are great

She's waaaaay too reknown and established as a musical lead singer of a constantly changing line-up band, but maybe as a guest or cameo, sure. Why Not?

It is a pretty brilliant idea. Maybe not the best ever, but she'd probably be good at it.

Isn't Hilary Duff too famous for this? That was a part of what made the original so special: they were all mostly unknown actors. The show made them famous. I just hope this doesn't end up being the Gossip Girl of the west coast.

My first reaction was why are the casting a singer, but then I thought, "Oh yeah, she's Lizzie McGuire." I didn't really watch that show, so I don't know if she can act, but I think this show makes sense for her. She can do a good job, but I'll probably never watch it anyway.

Hmm. Actually...yeah, I think casting Hilary Duff would be enough of a reason to watch an episode. No sarcasm. I like her slightly more than Lindsay Lohan but not enough to care if she fails miserably, so, why not?
