I don't mind knowing who celebrites endorse. It doesn't change my mind on who I am voting for.

Also, I don't think it was necessary to link to the "Evil Woman" video. A pro-Obama video is indeed more constructive and much less sexist (and yes, women can be sexist! We see it now more than ever).

Depends on the celebrity. Paris Hilton? Wouldn't listen to her. Bono, maybe, once I factor the ego out. Marion Cotillard? Depends on whether or not I'm on my meds. Chuck Norris? You don't mess with Chuck Norris. Point is, if they sound like sensible people, I'll give them a listen. But if they're idiots... (Of course, how many "celebrities" are sensible people...?)

Celebrity endorsements don't really influence me. That Nicholson video was just baaaad, though. Strange/creepy endorsements probably have a negative effect.

This video is embarrassing. It looks like something you'd play at assembly in the gym when you're running for Junior Class president. Sure it looks cool, but I have a hard time believing professionals did this. Shoot, I could do this, and if I can do it, its not clever.

do not care...celebs telling me who they vote for...i don't buy their perfume, i don't buy their steaks or purses, and i don't vote for their candidates..i try to use my brain from time to time, as crazy as that sounds...

I'm definitely on the liberal side of things, and I just find it embarrassing when celebrities try to clumsily force their liberalism on people. If anything, they've inadvertently helped stigmatize the word "liberal". A few are actually qualified to speak credibly about politics because their main work is politically-oriented by nature, but most vocal celebrities are just ignoramuses who've been living within that posh alternate reality known as Hollywood for way too long.

In Columbus, OH today Nick Cannon called into a radio station on behalf of Sen. Obama. If I were working for the Obama campaign I would have been embarassed to death. Cannon was talking in all slang and admitted that he didn't know where Obama stands on certain issues.

re: cimagato - As a Republican who watches Fox News (among other news outlets) I do not think Obama is a Muslim and Fox News does not plant that idea into people's heads. I'm thinking it's just his name that implies such to some people.
And regarding the question at hand, I was peeved at celeb endorsements during the Kerry/Bush election, but not so much now. It's not like everyone is going to vote for Obama because Oprah does.

It's mildly amusing. I thought the Nicholson thing was a joke. (Seriously?) Like Snarf, I think some of them hinder more than help. I can't imagine any of celebrity changing anyone's mind about something like this. (But I'd like to know what Fox News is saying, because I can't shake my mom from thinking Obama is a Muslim. It's the only thing she watches, so where else is she getting it?--Not that there's anything wrong with being a Muslim, but it's just that he's not.)

It's not important to me until the actual election. I think celebs including Oprah need to let the politics play out and then if they want to endorse somebody fine. But it doesn't sway me.

I think it's great. They are trying to give the electorate something to think about - I don't think it can change someone's mind. Hopefully just motivate someone to do a little research. In any case - whatever gets the citizenry involved is a (mostly) good thing.
