Happy Birthday, Robyn Lively!

Our favorite Teen Witch turns 36 today (that's it?!), which gives us an excuse to watch the end of the movie (below), as well as some college kids' reenactment of the "Top That!" rap (after the jump).

I LOVE this movie! I first saw it on a VHS tape when I was about 5 years old and I would watch it almost everyday until it drove my mom nuts. I would even dance with a stuffed monkey trying to imitate the last dance scene of the movie. I still love watching this movie when it reruns on T.V. And I love the songs in the movie...even got some on my ipod.

Great Movie.

Kayla Fri, Feb 8, 2008 at 11:43 AM EST

Teen Witch was on ABC Family a couple of months ago. She's 13 and just doesn't understand. Sadly shaking head.

Angie Fri, Feb 8, 2008 at 10:33 AM EST

I love, love, love this movie!!!!! I had a blue tutu that I used to wear over a big blue t-shirt to try to look like Louise in her uber-chic school dance dress in the last scenes of the movie.

Jakeem Fri, Feb 8, 2008 at 02:06 AM EST

I had a crush on Robyn for years, but her little sister is something else!!!

I watched this movie so much when I was younger, it drove my mother crazy. The minute I saw this post, the lyrics to "Popular Girl" came back to me. Thanks for the memories!

kristin --- flowers in the attic & crybaby are both AWESOME.
i thought for sure i was the only one who had ever seen the former and the latter is a johnny depp classic...ricki lake? hatchet face? SO GOOD.

mostpopulargirl Thu, Feb 7, 2008 at 09:56 PM EST

i own this on such a bootleg dvd...but thanks so much for putting it up! one of my fave movies!
i was so shocked to see robyn lively on a dcom recently. crazy.

OH. MY. GAWD! That was totally AWESOME!!

Moviezzz Thu, Feb 7, 2008 at 07:51 PM EST

Mandi, yet another great post. I thought I was one of the few who remember Robyn Lively. Her sister (the star of GOSSIP GIRL) is getting all the press these days. People seem to have forgotten her (and her brother who was Rusty in EUROPEAN VACATION).

BTW, as for what she is doing, she is still acting. She is also married to one of the fathers or coaches or one of the adults in HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL.

It's too much! I laughed so hard my stomach hurts! I really didn't think anyone else knew this film. It feels great to be a part of such a strange and weird community. Thanks Mandi!

Bertie Thu, Feb 7, 2008 at 07:13 PM EST

I totally thought I was the only one that saw this movie...lol! Brings back memories, that's for sure :)

Sarah Thu, Feb 7, 2008 at 06:43 PM EST

For the love of Zelda Rubenstein - this is the best movie EVER! How many times did I sing along to "I'm gonna be the most popular girl"?! 7th grade was a really tough year.

Red Thu, Feb 7, 2008 at 06:21 PM EST

Holy crap! I love this movie. Redheads are awesome

Eric Thu, Feb 7, 2008 at 06:09 PM EST

My friend Amber and I TOTALLY loved that movie... we'd always swoon over Dan Gauthier, and go on about being the "Most Popular Girl".. I actually bought her a copy of the DVD for her bachelorette party (as well as a copy for myself... of course). The college student reenactment was HIGH-larious..

fredric Thu, Feb 7, 2008 at 05:12 PM EST

I think I'm in love with this soundtrack.

Martha Thu, Feb 7, 2008 at 04:56 PM EST

Everyone's hair was so fluffy! Good times.

Gretchen Thu, Feb 7, 2008 at 04:48 PM EST

I do the Top That ALL THE TIME!!! My friends call me a nerd, but I know now I'm not! Oh, and my friend bid and won this on DVD for me on Ebay! :-) So now I'm the proud owner!!

Kristin Thu, Feb 7, 2008 at 04:41 PM EST

Mandi - are you sure we never hung out when we were kids? If I was a guy, I would call you my soulmate. Between Teen Witch and Girls Just Wanna Have fun...my head is spinning. Curious what your take is on Midnight Madness, Flowers in the Attic, Cry-Baby and Seven Minutes in Heaven?

aymzer Thu, Feb 7, 2008 at 04:32 PM EST

I can't believe she is Blake Lively sister! They don't really look alike.

Stephanie T. Thu, Feb 7, 2008 at 04:17 PM EST

Ugh! The actor who played her little brother was ugly! I remember seeing this movie for the first time on cable. Dan Gauthier was sooo freakin hot!

jmiklane Thu, Feb 7, 2008 at 04:00 PM EST

The best part of the movie is the creepy little brother.
"I've prepared you a WHOLESOME breakfast... yah mornin' papah... and I took the liberty of ironing yah homework!"
That kid freaks me out. Great movie!

Thu, Feb 7, 2008 at 03:46 PM EST

Amazing. That's all.

Dtom Thu, Feb 7, 2008 at 03:36 PM EST

I'm so embarassed to say I've seen this movie more than once. The chick is hot in that movie, as she was in Karate Kid Part III. What the hell happened to her, anyway?

Ellipsian Thu, Feb 7, 2008 at 03:34 PM EST

"Top That"-ers, untie! I mean, unite (never fear, your laces are safe)!

I mentioned the awesomeness that is "Top That" on my MySpace page about a year ago, and someone from the "Teen Witch" stage show replied. Did you hear me, y'all? THE "TEEN WITCH" STAGE SHOW. I am not making this up.

Happy Hunting! And... "Top that/ Top that/ I don't give a *uh* what you think about that/ Top that!"

TSD Thu, Feb 7, 2008 at 03:25 PM EST

I love that movie! I actually downloaded Top That and have it on my ipod now. The movie came out when I was a wee 6 years old, but I still love it. Top That. I still want to be the most popular girl.

Laurie Thu, Feb 7, 2008 at 03:12 PM EST

The abandoned house makeout scene still makes me blush 20 years later.

Lauren Thu, Feb 7, 2008 at 03:02 PM EST

I often break into Top That myself - and NO ONE knows what I'm talking about!! I'm not alone ...

Todd Thu, Feb 7, 2008 at 02:54 PM EST

I LOVE that you guys posted this! Is it bad that it's 2008 and I still sometimes break into Top That?

KT Thu, Feb 7, 2008 at 02:41 PM EST
