On the Scene: Indie Spirits red carpet

Greetings from L.A., PopWatchers! We've all (finally) caught Oscar fever! And despite intermittent rainfall, nothing could dampen the spirits at the 2008 Indie, uh, Spirits, held Saturday afternoon on the beach in Santa Monica. For a small celebration of low-budget filmmaking, the Academy's casual cousin has really swelled to massive proportions lately. Even Brangelina made an appearance, ducking in at the last minute under giant IFC umbrellas, then blowing right past us lowly journalists to pose for the paps (and prove someone's pregnant). The "ngelina" half was nominated for her work in A Mighty Heart, but she didn't win; Ellen Page did. Score one for sneakers, and check out all the results here. Not surprisingly, Juno made out like the gangbuster it is.
