EW's Assistant Managing Editor and regular Idolatry foil Kristen Baldwin sends me an IM she received last night, from her mother Carol, and since it's the best thing I've read all week, I thought I'd pass it on:
"I'm waiting for Dad to fall asleep in his chair so I can go watch Idol with no complaints. He's almost there."

My husband has a class after work Tuesday nights, so I can watch my AI in peace! Sure, I like making fun of contestants as much as the next person, but I don't like it when non-fans do it!

YES! EXACTLY! My husband talks thru the whole thing..complaining how bad it is. Then GO. I want to watch AND hear it in peace!!! Too funny.

Sounds like my parents. Although my mom ended up getting a new TV and a second DVR so she could record craft shows and Idol and watch them in her sewing room instead.

My husband tells everyone that AI is our show to watch together as a family...when everyone starts talking nonstop and making fun of all the contestants, I quietly slip away and watch it in my bedroom.
