I was rather disappointed initially but after giving plenty of listens these last two days it has definately grown on me. "It's Like That" was not even close to the strongest track on TEOM but it was noticed. LA Reid knows what he's doing. He's not going to give us the HOTTEST song right away...I'm confident the best has yet to come from this album. Also, Vision of Love was 18yrs ago and the Butterfly Mariah we have come to know has been out for 11yrs...I don't get why people continue to bring this up considering Mariah has been the same "sexy-flirty" Mariah since the Butterfly Album 11yrs ago. I listened to the track a few times yesterday & as of right now, its STILL gotta grow on me. Its not an immediate off the charts run-away smash & its no instant club banger either, BUT trust to everyone saying there's no rapper on it, it won't be a hit, THERE WILL BE A REMIX BY THE TIME THE ALBUM COMES IN MID-APRIL! Its just a matter of seeing who. But my money is on Lil Wayne. She's done the Jay-Z remix a couple times already & fellow Def Jam rapper Young Jeezy is on the new Usher single, "Love In The Club",& Timbaland & Justin Timberlake are on the first Madonna single, "4 Minutes To Save The World", so eventhough Wayne seems to pop up on EVERYTHING, a remix with him right now, would do well to finally launch his upcoming album into the mainstream pop consciousness, as well as in the streets. Speaking of the streets, I am SO glad Mariah de-ghetto-fied her album title from "That Chick" to "E=MC²" cause I was like come on! As for the single, maybe a few more listens will rope me in!

so i first heard the new single on the web yesterday and thought eh... However, this morning I was driving my long commute and heard the song a couple of times on the radio and it's definitely groing on me. I should preface all of this by saying I am a huge Mariah fan and have been for years. I think she has a lot of pressure on this album after the enormous sucess of Emancipation. I'm glad she changed the title from "That Chick" She has far more pressure than Janet has as her albums have not done well for years. I didn't think this track was bad when I heard it...but I was expecting something a little more stronger club edge to compete with Janet (Ms. Jackson if you're nasty)...it's was okay...I hope she def. has something even bigger and better on that new album if she wants to live up to the expectations of "Mimi"...
