Categories: Grammys, Music, Weekend To-Do List

Amywinehouse_l The Grammys (Sunday, 8 p.m. CBS) are finally here, and so is the post detailing our coverage! We'll have Whitney Pastorek on the scene, Annie Barrett and Leah Greenblatt live-blogging the telecast, and, courtesy of Clark Collis and Simon Vozick-Levinson, your morning-after gallery grading the night's big performances.

Speaking of performances, there are tons of 'em planned. The latest lineup: Kanye West, Amy Winehouse, John Mayer, BeBe Winans, and pasting from the press release Beyoncé and Tina Turner, Andrea Bocelli and Josh Groban, Eldar, Feist, Fergie and John Legend, John Fogerty with Jerry Lee Lewis and Little Richard, Foo Fighters (with special guest conductor John Paul Jones), Herbie Hancock and Lang Lang (conducted by famed maestro John Mauceri), Alicia Keys, Kid Rock, Dave Koz, Brad Paisley, Keely Smith, Carrie Underwood, 2008 MusiCares® Person of the Year Aretha Franklin, the Clark Sisters, Israel and New Breed, and Trin-I-Tee 5:7 in a special gospel segment, the casts of The Beatles LOVE by Cirque du Soleil and Across the Universe in a special Beatles segment, and Rihanna with a reunited The Time in a special 50th anniversary segment.

Who are we rooting for?

My god that woman is horrible. How on earth did THAT get the top award? It's not her tune, she just put words to it. The song is junk, a rant about an irresponsible addict disliking getting of drugs. The woman is clearly an addict and ill. This is disgusting. I'm appalled.

Why is Amy Wino's pix in all the lead articles about the Grammys? EW are you trying to promote her? Shame on you.

Sally Sun, Feb 10, 2008 at 06:49 PM EST

If Amy Wino wins over Kanye there will be blood. Please!

Rihanna and UMBRELLA,

Daniel! Sun, Feb 10, 2008 at 08:04 AM EST

Yawn. Maybe it's part of being British, but I really don't care for the Grammys.

Matt Sat, Feb 9, 2008 at 11:39 PM EST

Whoa. Does pretty little Beyonce know what she's getting herself into? Performing with Tina Turner?? That's gonna be a bloodbath....

CARRIEROCKS Sat, Feb 9, 2008 at 05:45 PM EST

GO CARRIE UNDERWOOD! I really hope Before he Cheats wins song of the year-- and that she also wins best female country vocal performance. Also routing for Amy Winehouse-- she totally deserves Best New Artist and many other awards! Not sure why taylor swift even got a nomination as she is worse then britney spears vocally, and that isn't saying much. I like Feist but am not familiar with the others in that category. Go Kanye West too! And I really want Daughtry, Brad Paisely, and Fantasia to win their first grammys!

I really want John Fogerty to win an award, hes such a talented man & hes written such great songs over the last 40 years. we want to see more of him here in England. John really deserves an award.

I'd like to see Dhani Harrison make an apperance during the Beatles tribute. He looks so much like his father that it is just ghostly.

Amy Winehouse-Kanye West-Foo Fighters...all of them have had stellar albums this past year and I would be happy if one of them won. Kanye deserves to be recognized for his talent, Amy Winehouse is a singular talent and Dave Grohl and the rest of the guys have consistently put out great rock music since their inception. The Grammys got it pretty right this year.

Amy faithful for life. Too bad she's having all the troubles with the visa though. She needed a comeback performance, and although she will still probably perform via satellite, it would've been awesome for her to have it in front of the whole music industry and at the actual awards show.

Edman Fri, Feb 8, 2008 at 11:02 PM EST

I'm pretty sure Kanye will win for best album, but I'd be all smiles if the Foo Fighters take it home.

Ms. Expose Fri, Feb 8, 2008 at 07:49 PM EST

Clive Davis had bribed(Payed OFF) the Accounting Firm that tallied the Grammy votes.. Alicia Keys will sweep her categories. FRAUD ALERT !!!

Sven Fri, Feb 8, 2008 at 07:01 PM EST

Memo to self: read entire NY Times article, where it states Winehouse will almost certainly perform live via satellite...

Sven Fri, Feb 8, 2008 at 06:58 PM EST

I thought Amy Winehouse was not granted a visa (according to NY Times and AP), so unless she will be performing live via satellite...

jaime Fri, Feb 8, 2008 at 06:34 PM EST

I REALLY REALLY REALLY WANT TAYLOR SWIFT TO BEAT WINEHOUSE. . .FOR BEST NEW ARTIST!!!!

AND I HOPE KELLY & REBA WIN COUNTRY DUET. IF THEY DO THAT WILL BE BOTH THE 3rd GRAMMY WIN FOR BOTH OF THEM!!!!

IndianaJenn Fri, Feb 8, 2008 at 06:27 PM EST

I would watch for Lang Lang- he is a wonderful performer. I saw him in person a couple of years ago and was amazed- it's one of the best performances I've seen! He has so much energy and joy!
