Stupid celebrity feud of the week: Ringo Starr vs. Regis and Kelly

Jan 23, 2008, 10:51 AM | by Gary Susman

Categories: Celebrity Feuds, Morning Madness, Music, To Care or Not to Care

Ringo Starr is 67, but he still has plenty of rock 'n' roll attitude, as he proved yesterday when he walked off a scheduled appearance on Live With Regis and Kelly rather than perform a version of "Liverpool 8," the title track to his new album, that would've been pared to under three minutes. (Regis' people say Starr had been informed months ago about the length requirement; Starr's camp says he'd offered to cut the four-minute song to 3:30, as he had on Letterman a couple days ago, but...oh, really, the details are too tedious, but you can read them all in the Associated Press account.) Funniest part: the statement from Ringo cohort Dave Stewart: "Four minutes (3 minutes and 40 seconds, actually) seemed like an appropriate amount of time for a former Beatle. [Live exec producer Michael] Gelman apparently felt Ringo's musical legacy should take a back seat to additional banter about the size of Ms. Ripa's derriere."

Silly as this all is, I gotta go with Dave and Ringo on this one. Do the Live folks really think their audience would fidget over a few more seconds of music, that they would rather hear more chitchat instead? Okay, the song's kinda maudlin for 9 a.m. (see the official video below), and it's not like it would suffer much from trimming the extended shout-along coda, but still, as Stewart notes, dude's a Beatle. That should earn him a lifetime of slack, even if the track is wack.

Anyway, Reege and Kelly, Ringo doesn't need you that much to help promote his record, since he's spending this week appearing on Dave, Rachael Ray (who let him perform the whole song), and every other show in America with a desk or a frying pan. Starr and his 8,969 MySpace friends can just take their business elsewhere. I bet he's gotten more publicity out of not performing than he would have had he performed. Well played, Mr. Starkey, well played.

D-Railer Thu, Mar 27, 2008 at 09:12 AM EST

As TARL FURY - a man who knows about beng a legend - to devote so much time to inane rubbish at the expense of an icon is shocking.

Style over substance.

Fri, Jan 25, 2008 at 10:24 PM EST

Regis should have eat Kelly's poop while Ringo played his entire song. That would have been entertaining.

beatle fan Fri, Jan 25, 2008 at 04:57 PM EST

Regis and Ripa suck bad, Ringo starr walking off the show makes my day a little brighter.Thankyou Ringo

Courtney Fri, Jan 25, 2008 at 02:09 PM EST

You're actually right--if he were my favorite singer I'd still admit he's being petty. Justin Timberlake, for example, can be a jerk to the photogs and I admit it. Hey, I'm young, okay? I like the Liverpool song... but have some class, okay, Ringo?

Rosie Fri, Jan 25, 2008 at 02:04 PM EST

It's embarassing to see how many would take up so voraciously for their favorite star's right to act like a jerk. So what if he was in... OMG! THE BEATLES!? If he were anyone else and not some signpost for aging flower children, you'd probably agree he shouldn't be acting like that. It's blind hero worship that makes artists of all levels of talent develop babyish, overblown attitudes like that. Oh, kind of like you posters whining about poor Ringo who didn't get to sing his song.

Nancy Walker Fri, Jan 25, 2008 at 10:20 AM EST

Ringo Starr deserves Star treatment. And I wish posters will learn to spell. I have seen some of the worst, most atrocious spelling on these threads.

Rick Magee Fri, Jan 25, 2008 at 09:39 AM EST

Hey guess what? I am watching the Live with Regis and Kelly Show and it's Great even without a deminishing Starr. It's their Annual Mothers Day Award day.
By the way, Ringo's Song(?) sucks.

guitar boy Fri, Jan 25, 2008 at 07:33 AM EST

I heard the song on Letterman. It's any entry level song, the repeat at the end drags on (this was a shortened version?) and Ringo doesn't sing well at all. It had all the makings of a garage band with decent instramentals but no singer. It will appeal to the nostalgic crowd, but no further. Humility is always good no matter how famous you are.

Bonnie Fri, Jan 25, 2008 at 05:16 AM EST

The Live with Regis and Kelly Show were very inconsider of their guest and I totally agree with Ringo's walking out. He is a ROCK N ROLL LEGEND,not some new up and coming singer. Kelly and Regis are definitely full of ego and who cares about her derriere.

Alan Fri, Jan 25, 2008 at 03:50 AM EST

Ringo Starr has a really great song and will always be dear to everyones heart. I am sure Regis & Kelly enjoy the nostalgia of this song as well. Have a nice day!

Rick Magee Fri, Jan 25, 2008 at 12:00 AM EST

I shall continue to watch Live with Regis and Kelly and if Ringo music comes on so be it. It won't last more than three minutes. That's the longest it will take me to find my Remote and hit the Mute button.

coginwheel Thu, Jan 24, 2008 at 10:23 PM EST

Regis and Kelly show sucks - I watched it once and was bored to tears. It's a 'talk about themselves' show.
I am actually surprised that Ringo agreed to appear as a guest.

Roy Thu, Jan 24, 2008 at 09:48 PM EST

Ringo I give you a star for walking.
I didn't know Kelly had a butt,go back to the bathroom a stick your finger down your throat.

john Thu, Jan 24, 2008 at 09:14 PM EST

Never forget..It was Ringo who put the beat in the Beatles..long live the Beatles...

Kristopher Shenk Thu, Jan 24, 2008 at 08:56 PM EST

It doesnt matter if he was a replacement in the fab four but he is the only one I remember..not who he replaced. besides more time he's singing the less drivel we are subjected to. Even though you're a fob breather Ringo, I've got your back. Regis and Smelly sux.

RINGO Thu, Jan 24, 2008 at 08:26 PM EST

WHY DON'T YOU PEOPLE LEAVE RINGO ALONE.JUST LEAVE HIM ALOOOOOOOONNNNNEEEEEEE!

jay Thu, Jan 24, 2008 at 08:08 PM EST

who cares about the beatles. they are just a ripoff of the real rock and roll founders like ike turner and little richard. who cares about regis and kelly for that matter.they are just rich people rubbing it in our noses about there easy life.overpaid and under talented.

Larry Thu, Jan 24, 2008 at 07:58 PM EST

Sorry..Ringo wasn't of the original Beatles, he was a replacement, so don't call him a Beatle...Besides his music sucks...Give me the
"original" American Rck & Roll...

After reading the story, and reading all the comments, I just want to grab a bottle of Ambien and a quart of tequila and get it over with.
.daed si luaP

John Z Thu, Jan 24, 2008 at 06:11 PM EST

While I'm sure an entire dissertation can be written about Rippa's rear or the lack of one, the Regis crew showed they are noting but "class" with a capitol "A". Good for Ringo deciding to take his music elsewhere. The morons that watch the show, hosted by a couple of no talents, don't deserve to hear Mr. Starr.

TARL FURY Thu, Jan 24, 2008 at 05:31 PM EST

I have absolutely NO problems with anybody else's opinion. What I would take issue with, as a paid advertiser on a national show, are management decisions which cater to mindless trivial CRAP as opposed to quality entertainment by a well-respected artist.

Regis/Kelly have shown their true colors. Perhaps that will work out in their favor, perhaps not. I wish them all the best.

I, however, will never watch either of them or their show from this day forward.

JOE MCCOIN Thu, Jan 24, 2008 at 05:15 PM EST

I AGREE WITH EVERYONE. REGIS & KELLY SOMETIMES HAVE SUCH MUNDANE TALK-YES BORING. ANY SINGER THAT IS ASKED TO SING ON THE SHOW SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO SING IT'S INTIRETY-NO MATTER WHO THE SINGER IS

JOE MCCOIN Thu, Jan 24, 2008 at 05:14 PM EST

DARLENE PERRY Thu, Jan 24, 2008 at 03:54 PM EST

Regis and Kelly are very in love with themselves (boring). Those two have the worst show on tv. The only reason I watched them the other day was because Ringo was going to perform! Now I will never ever give them a 2nd chance again....

Robert Thu, Jan 24, 2008 at 03:52 PM EST

Regis is a boring loudmouth and I never watch him and that skinny wench second banana of his. My impression of Regis as that he is an egotist. Why don't they get rid of him already and get some new blood on that stale, weary program.

Mill Thu, Jan 24, 2008 at 02:21 PM EST

I actually have a remote for my TV
Sooo look n listen somwhere else dah.
lifes too short for all this.

Sharon Thu, Jan 24, 2008 at 02:16 PM EST

I feel like many of the other former fans of Regis and Kelly Live, all they do is talk about themselves, boring. The producer of the show should have limited their chat time for the real STARR.

Thu, Jan 24, 2008 at 02:15 PM EST

Ringo needs to grow up. The big baby picked up his ball and went home. How about a one minute snippet of your new tune instead? We will cut out the part we want to use. Compared to Sir Paul, he has no class.

BrianF Thu, Jan 24, 2008 at 12:32 PM EST

To the snot-noses who say that Ringo is just a boring old has-been, I remind you that his band, the Beatles, is the second most successful musical act of ALL TIME (with Elvis the first). Ringo came from a time when musical creativity and diversity wasn't frowned upon, but actually encouraged. That period's creativity has been unmatched since. Today's cookie-cutter artists stamped out by a music industry that only signs artists that sound like Green Day or Pearl Jam needs to rethink its mediocre strategy. Before C Miller and Jme comment about Ringo and his music, they should actually try LISTENING to it first. Then they probably wouldn't sound as silly as MTV turned out to be in the mid-90s when they stated that the band Ocean would be 'this generation's Beatles'. Ocean who???? LOL

Rick Magee Thu, Jan 24, 2008 at 12:18 PM EST

I can't believe some of these writers on this subject. I reckon they are really underage folks. We of the over 21 age bracket (ahem) have better things to do than perpetuate a second rate Song Debate to glean revenue for a Diminishing Starr. Pun Intended.
On any Show, the Producer calls the shots and constantly watches the 'clock'. Afterall, the Show Buys Airtime and Pays for the 'guests', Not vice versa. For the edification of those under 21, that means the "Other way Around". As is, your thinking.
That's it Folks. I hope this ends the discussion.

C Miller Thu, Jan 24, 2008 at 11:56 AM EST

Who needs Ringo? He is an old wrinkled

Bob Thu, Jan 24, 2008 at 11:41 AM EST

Regis is incredibly stupid. Who could have guessed to this extent?

jme Thu, Jan 24, 2008 at 10:52 AM EST

this ones 4 stevo.. if kellys body type is a problem than why watch the show? this is a talk show not a beauty show!and kellys perfect.by the way ringo who?? ever herd of a "hasbeen" he should appreciate any attention he's given beggers cant b choosers!!!!!!!looooserrrrr

the fab four Thu, Jan 24, 2008 at 10:10 AM EST

Bravo.....I am glad for Ringo....to bad other celebrities dont stand for the ART and not the almighty dollar

steveo Thu, Jan 24, 2008 at 10:05 AM EST

When whole shows are being devoted to one artist, such as Orprah dedicating an occasional show to a speific guest - surely a minute or so more wouldn't have made a difference...They should have let Mr. Starr complete his song. What's the matter with these producers? As so many of the commenters have said..."This is Ringo, for god sakes!"

Shaykh 55 Thu, Jan 24, 2008 at 08:13 AM EST

Most feuds are tedious AND stupid; and, if this one was caused by a desire to talk about the size of K's butt, I have to ask:WHAT BUTT? She is almost as flat as a pancake! In fact, most of her dresses seem to have a cavity in the back. I would rather listen to Ringo anytime. And keep in mind, Ringo IS a Beatle and a Starr.

Nelle Thu, Jan 24, 2008 at 04:10 AM EST

Now I know why I don't watch R&K. The advertisers, network and producer have control of the show. R&K are just hired help doing basically what pleases the other three,so don't blame them. Ringo's a smart cookie. Walking off will get his new album much more PR. I thank Ringo for allowing the watchers of dumb morning TV o see just how dumb things like R&K and other TV shows are. Plus, the producer now has a idea of how to spark up sduch trivial nonsense!

Joe Gallagher Thu, Jan 24, 2008 at 01:45 AM EST

I am glad he is still alive. I thought Ringo died years ago.

joey Thu, Jan 24, 2008 at 01:39 AM EST

LIKE your name your still a shinning star!!! and for those of u with negetive comments, get a life!!!at least ringo's will be a memerable one not like yours LOSERS !!!

Rod Thu, Jan 24, 2008 at 01:39 AM EST

I turned in to watch Ringo, not Kelly and Regis. I'm so glad I was able to hear the words to this song. It was from the heart. (On Letterman)
What I heard instead was how Kellys mic slipped down her "cleavage". Then Regis saying "at least she has some". Most of the time I hear what Regis did the night before. What a pompas *** he is. And every chance Kelly gets, she tries to throw in how just got back from the Hamtons.
At least the Beatles changed world culture. I just hope they listen to the words to this song.
Thank You

joey Thu, Jan 24, 2008 at 01:39 AM EST

C. Trexel Thu, Jan 24, 2008 at 01:29 AM EST

I don't think he should have been asked to cut the song down. I guess this is a common practice in the industry. Wonder what lyrics I may have missed in songs from previous guests on the show and on other shows.

mike Thu, Jan 24, 2008 at 12:45 AM EST

First of all if one knows anything about TV production it is that it is the program directors decision on how long a song is played, not the Host's decision. Regis had nothing to do with it. I love both Regis and Ringo. Regis named one of his daughters Joeanna after my Mother because they were friends back in the 60's. I also dated one of Ringo's ex grilfriends. I know that both of them are great persons. I have been a music teacher and composer over 30 years teaching song writing and in all honesty the song is below par on a song writing basis but Ringo has a way of taking a simple song and making it special such as " Yellow Submarine ".

Paul Thu, Jan 24, 2008 at 12:20 AM EST

I always thought he was a jerk with delusions of grandeur antway

Yendor A. Suedomsa Thu, Jan 24, 2008 at 12:14 AM EST

I don't watch the show and I don't listen to old or new Beatles. Other than the self-imposed hype created by another generation over the brit invasion the Beatles are/were Just a music band. I'll bet if you hold a picture of Regis up and one of Ringo everyone would know who Regis is and maybe some could finally guess the other one. Music should be heard and not seen. Bring the joker on for an interview, tell the crowd to go listen to the song elsewhere, and wake the next guy in the green room.

trish Thu, Jan 24, 2008 at 12:07 AM EST

oh my gosh,Rick M.I can't believe what you have said.."the Beatles were good but stoned"?? Yes, BUT what does this have to do with what just happened on the Regis and Kelly show? They might have been stoned but they are and were still-GREAT!!History for all ages to come..The new song takes you back to a time that I will always love.Good job, Ringo!! Thanks for bringing back the 60's memories!!And mabye you aren't a Beatle fan so keep you comments to yourself!

Rick Magee Wed, Jan 23, 2008 at 11:49 PM EST

I can't believe the banter on here about an aging performer that showed his Arse and just how tempremental he is. Too early for him? Regis and Kelly probably had nothing to do with the request to cut it short. (unlike his moile). The Time constraints are applied by the producer, in this case Michael Gellman, who does a stalwart job in reigning in the Hosts to maintain a tight schedule. Sorry Ringo, your Star is deminishing.

Rick Magee Wed, Jan 23, 2008 at 11:37 PM EST

Ahhhh...pooor little Ringo Starr. Pompas A$$. Regis and Kelly are more entertaining. I don't like Letterman so there. Regis and Kelly and Gellman have Nothing to Apologize for as they stayed and didn't "take their 'Baseball Bat' and leave". The 'game' went on without him. The Beatles were good, even though Stoned half the time. I and they, are Old.

rosie Wed, Jan 23, 2008 at 11:18 PM EST

GOOD FOR RINGO I DON'T LIKE THE SHOW CAUSE OF ALL THE CHITCHAT

Ed on Cape Wed, Jan 23, 2008 at 09:48 PM EST

I think Regis and Kelly and Gelmann should appologize on-air. Not to Ringo, but to viewers. These EW comments voice matter well - cut Regis and Kelly's chatter shtick in favor of historic personality. Gelman must be sucking up too much morning perfume!

Icon VS Suck TV Wed, Jan 23, 2008 at 08:32 PM EST

Ringo you will always be in my heart. You will be remembered in history! The so-called talk hosts are a dime a dozen.
Love your music Ringo
HAL

ladyfran Wed, Jan 23, 2008 at 08:12 PM EST

I have to say, I agree that Ringo should not have had any constraints on his amount of time to sing his song. I listened to it online here and it is a good song and if a Beatle is on a show, it is to hear him perform, not to listen to the shows cohosts prattle on and on. I RARELy listen to them I do not like their self centeredness. What a waste.

Savannah Wed, Jan 23, 2008 at 08:10 PM EST

I have always loved the bantering of Regis and Kelly but for them to shun Ringo.......... Hello???? He's Ringo Starr! Hello???? I went to the site to complain but then of course there is no where on the site to do so because the show website is conveniently down. I am not watching them anymore. That's it... I'm done. Finis

beatman Wed, Jan 23, 2008 at 08:02 PM EST

Hey he should get some respect...if Paul dies he'd be THE Beatle!!!!

helge Wed, Jan 23, 2008 at 07:55 PM EST

what dos people think there are, waisting every morning peoples time with useless statements

ubwon Wed, Jan 23, 2008 at 07:14 PM EST

Good for Regis and Kelly, the song is poop! ! ! ! Beattle or not....

William Wed, Jan 23, 2008 at 06:44 PM EST

Reegis is ALWAYS taking over everybody !
I guess he thinks he's important.
And i hat it when he talks over Kelly.
She is fine and whitty. I saw her pick up a vauge reference to somthing a guest said, and I said the same thing to myself, only seconds before she did.
I said WOW, she really IS smart...

Vanity Wed, Jan 23, 2008 at 06:41 PM EST

...and elderly men too!

Vanity Wed, Jan 23, 2008 at 06:38 PM EST

And the only thing Kelly Ripa loves more than herself ......is flirting inappropriately with elederly men like Regis.

Becca Wed, Jan 23, 2008 at 06:10 PM EST

This is the sort of thing that happens on the morning talk shows that makes me not want to watch them. To not allow singers/musicians time to perform their songs in their entirety is insulting to them. I also hate the way they spend more time telling you an interview or performance is "coming up later in the show" than on the actual interview or performance. Sometimes they spend so little time talking to the person, they must feel like "why did I waste my time coming here for this?" Also, the hosts of these shows talk over their guests, and barely let them answer their questions and talk about their latest projects.

mio Wed, Jan 23, 2008 at 06:05 PM EST

Ah, the track is always wack if Ringo sings it, but he is a Beatle & is more than due the proper amout of obsequiousness. Hail, Ringo!

james gardner Wed, Jan 23, 2008 at 05:32 PM EST

ringo is a legion and regis and kelly r known for nothing but yapping about silly things. We should respect anyone that gives up their time to be on their show. How kelly feel if she got the same treatment as they gave ringo, she would go though the roof!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GARY Wed, Jan 23, 2008 at 05:15 PM EST

ROSIE SUCKS,
THE BEATLES CHANGED THE FACE OF ROCK MUSIC AND RINGO WAS A LARGE PART OF THAT. HE'LL BE REMEMBERED LONG AFTER EVERYONE HAS FORGOTTEN REGIS/KELLY. I DOUBT YOU KNOW 10 BEATLE SONGS. SLIP YOUR 50 CENT CD IN AND SHUT UP.

GREAT SONG! Reflects many people's journey through life. Everyone can relate to leaving home to find their dream. THIS SONG SHOULD B SEEM IN IT"S ENTIRETY ON A TV SHOW! HE'S A BEATLE FOR CRIPS SAKE!LOVE THE SONG RINGO!

Russ Wed, Jan 23, 2008 at 03:56 PM EST

What a dumb song. Liverpool today is nothing like the White working class city it was when he grew-up there. It is now a third world cesspool full of people who despise Ringo, his music and the culture that produced it. Ringo should be ashamed of himself for his part in the "deconstruction" of his hometown.

Double D Wed, Jan 23, 2008 at 03:40 PM EST

Regis is still alive?
What's more incredible; it's still on the air?
Who really wants to watch Regis and Gelman carry on about their flu shots and warts?

Scott Wed, Jan 23, 2008 at 03:40 PM EST

Ringo should have been given the ENTIRE show!! Great song, Ringo! I like it alot!!

Marion Wed, Jan 23, 2008 at 03:09 PM EST

Way tired of Kelly`s me me my my I I bla
bla and her so nada "figure" - but she gets along with Gelman - I`m certain
Reges would have given Ringo all the
time he needed.

bruce stinson Wed, Jan 23, 2008 at 03:00 PM EST

You gotta be kiddin me..screw over a Beatle? You know how many are left? I won't be tuning into this show, but I will buy Ringo's record. What idiots.

jo Wed, Jan 23, 2008 at 03:00 PM EST

Ringo is a helluva performer...I'd watch him any day, but wouldn't walk across the room to watch those two idiots...ditzel blonde and old man making a fool of himself over her!

p.wager Wed, Jan 23, 2008 at 02:40 PM EST

hey guys!!!Ringo is an idol..A BEATLE!!! give him more respect than he got!!I grew up with the BEATLES and i don't want to hear anyones bad, stupid comment about him.He deserves all the respect..Regis is noone in my book!!!

Roger Wed, Jan 23, 2008 at 02:39 PM EST

Regis is a pompous, arrogant ass. Kelly is a bimbo with an ever-growing ass. Four minutes of Ringo is worth a lifetime of them!

annie Wed, Jan 23, 2008 at 02:35 PM EST

The guy is a former Beatle! Gelman was just wrong. Ringo should have been given way more respect.

Wed, Jan 23, 2008 at 02:11 PM EST

YOU GO RINGO !!!!!

Winona Wed, Jan 23, 2008 at 02:07 PM EST

Ringo definitely wins this one. I could care less about Regis and Kelly yammering on for fifteen minutes, or the inane call-in games they have. An artist - whether a legend or a struggling newbie - should be given reasonable time to showcase their craft.

REALLY OLD BEATLE FAN Wed, Jan 23, 2008 at 02:07 PM EST

THEY WERE ; DOING THE BEST THEY COULD!,[regis&kelly]:CONSIDERING THE SENILITY! OF OF THIS AGED ROCK STARR[no pun intended].
I seriously doubt there could have been much banter about kelly's [butt] not much there for any extended conversations??.

:o) Wed, Jan 23, 2008 at 01:47 PM EST

I think it's ridiculous to ask any musician to cut down their song just so they can have more time to chat, it's not like we don't see them do that every day.

Buzz Wed, Jan 23, 2008 at 01:32 PM EST

Rock On Ringo! What's with wrong Regis & Kelly? If I was an Ex-Beatle (or any other artist) I wouldn't tolerate that! I'm glad I watch Letterman Instead.

Rosie Wed, Jan 23, 2008 at 01:26 PM EST

I don't have to go with Ringo on this one. What a pompous jerk. I'm a fan of a lot of Beatles songs, if the Beatles aren't singing them--sorry, hate their voices--but the point is that no artist should be this self-satisfied. You're on someone else's show, so perform what time you're allotted. Or else don't go on... But don't walk off or make a rude, pampered statement. Like we don't have worse things going on in the world than Ringo and his ego. I like the spontaneous chatting on R&K better than anything else, anyway--I hate pandering to famous people that goes on in interviews.

marie Wed, Jan 23, 2008 at 01:19 PM EST

I HAVE STOPPED WATCHING REGIS AND KELLY BECAUSE THEY SPEND SO MUCH TIME TALKING THAT THE SEGMENTS WITH THEIR GUESTS ARE ALL RUSHED!!!

Ceballos Wed, Jan 23, 2008 at 01:11 PM EST

Ok, so apparently everyone now hates Regis and Kelly.

Granted, I don't get to watch them very often because I'm at work when they come on, but whenever I do see them, I see an easy chemistry between the two. Regis has been doing his "out of touch old guy" schtick for about a decade now, so i don't get why people are over it now? And Kelly's a funny, likable, co-host. Sure, she tends to make everything about her kids, but so does every other mother I've ever met. I can recognize that they're an acquired taste, but I like them and I figured someone ought to speak up for them.

Also, I don't get the venom aimed at them because of this incident. I'm pretty sure that Regis and Kelly themselves don't dole out the amount of time that's given to each musical artist to perform. I mean, we all agree it's a silly rule, but it's one that Ringo knew about and he (successfully) made more a show of himself and his album by causing this stiry. Well done, sir.

Tallyman Wed, Jan 23, 2008 at 01:06 PM EST

Music is an art form. The creator of the music should be allowed to present it in its full version as it was written. Please don't let Regis and Kelly show the Mona Lisa on their show - they would probably remove her head.

On Regis and Kelly every recording artist is given a specific time to perform their song; no exception. I realize that Mr. Starr's ego is so large that he thinks the rule should not apply to him. However, what quote, unquote artist doesn't think the same thing? Where do you draw the line?

I don't think it's a stupid celebrity feud at all. I think Ringo's tired of being "packaged" into three minute song bites, as were all the former Beatles. They wouldn't have tried to pull the same stunt on John or Paul. Why give Ringo the short end of the performing stick? Well done, Ringo, even though you hardly need my approval. You've earned it, man, and thanks for all the great music over the years!

My comment references their names -

Ringo is a Starr
While Regis is a (Has)bin
Kelly is a Rip(off).

I really liked Kelly Ripa when she was the new hostess of the show. Slowly she has become as irritating and Kathy Lee. What is that? I am all for making them look like whack-a-moles. Thanks Ringo....

GO RINGO! You don't diss a former Beatle. Ever. Kelly is a shrill, self-absorbed harpy. Regis is an out-of-touch old man. Maybe if they'd cut back on their stupid, boring banner, they'd have time for REAL guests. Oh, and Kelly: it's not necessary to interrupt your guests every 20 seconds with some 'interesting' anecdote about yourself. You were a so-so soap actress, now you're a so-so talk show host. No one cares!
