Christian Bale (right) is in talks to join Johnny Depp (left) in the Michael Mann-directed, catch-me-if-you-can drama Public Enemies. It's the pairing I never thought to ask for, but, judging by my squeal reaction to the news, have always wanted. Can you die happy now, or is there another first-time coupling you'll want to see before you go?

eeewww- who said that christian Bale looks like ryan Gosling- that is a huge insult to Mr. Bale and i spit in your general direction. I second the remark about Daniel Day Lewis and Christian Bale. We really need to send Oscar Worthy Vibes Mr. Bale's Way. Let's hope he takes some serious roles and less action heroe ones.

plus i was just thinkin that today how they should be in a movie together, and here we are. there is a God afterall. plus their both like two of the best actors around! this movie's gonna be intense. the ultimate alliance has been made .. hail to the heavens.
BUT i have always wanted to see Tobey McGuire, Jake Gyllenhall, Elijah Wood. I think that would be great.but not quite as great as this duo. probably not even close.

Well, Christian Bale has already worked with Jonathan Rhys-Myers in "Velvet Goldmine" but I don't think Rhys-Myers and Johnny Depp have worked together before, so if the producers of this new movie could maybe find a place to add Jonathan to the cast, I just might finally get a little preview of heaven! (and if they could toss Ewan MacGregor into the mix, I just might not ever come back from there - LOL!)

I think most of you people are missing the point about why this will be a great pairing...THEY'RE BOTH GREAT ACTORS!!! Ya know, kinda like the whole "Pacino and DeNiro doing a movie together where they actually have a scene with each other in Heat", or "Brando and DeNiro together in The Score" thing. Hotness has nothing to do with why the pairing is so great.
Another pairing that would just be FREAKIN PHENOMINAL (if there is a director out there that could handle it), would be a comedy starring Robin Williams AND Jim Carrey! There would be dried up eyes and urine stains on every movie theatre seat in America!!!
