The Hulk: So Many Reasons to Smash Things, So Little Time

"Please, don't make me angry... you wouldn't like me when I'm angry." When I was a kid, growing up in the '70s, David Banner's classic catchphrase from the Incredible Hulk TV show was like a mantra to be repeated often and with grim intent — and occasionally replacing the word "angry" with any other state of being you could think of ("Don't make me cuddly... you wouldn't like me when I'm cuddly," and so on.).

But on the website of producer Kenneth Johnson (who produced The Incredible Hulk, as well as V and the Alien Nation show) you'll find a list of all 117 things that caused poor Bill Bixby to have to drop in the green-and-white contacts and look a bit constipated before giving an emerald-painted Lou Ferrigno a chance to earn his paycheck.

My favorite is No. 60: "Being stuck in the police department's voice mail system when he knows his friend is about to be the next lobotomy subject, only to have the police finally pick up the phone after he's turning into the Hulk."

While we're talking about the Green Giant, some poor lucky bloke woke up and found the Hulk's to-do list on his fridge.
