Happy citizenship, Craig Ferguson!

Craigferguson_l Official Winner of Tuesday, 1/29/08: Craig Ferguson (pictured), who scored 100 percent on his U.S. citizenship test. I guess this means he will have to stop making fun of the president. Not! Ferguson's made an issue of his quest for citizenship ever since June, when the mayor of Ozark, Alabama made him an honorary citizen because the Late Late Show host had complimented the region's catfish. 16,109 communities have citizenshipped him since then. That sounds awesome. We should all try it. Hey, Belgium — I dig your waffles and snooty attitude.

Official Disappointment of Tuesday, 1/29/08: Conan O'Brien, who shaved his magnificent strike beard before Monday night's show and didn't bother to A) document it on-air or B) send me a lock of his beard in the mail. Emphasis on B, yo. I'm devastated. A few weeks ago, at the photo shoot for Conan's sexy jungle-themed EW cover, I got to sit mere inches away from this beard. It was so close I could make out the tiny morsels of food and old coins from the 1930s that had lodged themselves in there over time. Now the beard's just floating in a drain somewhere. If I didn't have to be here right now, I'd dive in there, Fugitive-style, and swim it down. Ew. I'll stop.

Hope it is a dual citizenship for Craig and he did not totally give up his citizenship to the UK...

Thanks, Annie. The image of morsels of food stuck in a beard and bathroom drains filled with red facial hair...gave me a second shot at breakfast as it made its way back up. So, seriously. Thanks.

Great news about Ferguson. One of the best days of my early life was Mom getting her citizenship. Me and the sibs remember if fondly. I think it's so cool when someone living here decides to join in the fray as one of our own. It's not a poplular thang to become an American citizen right now.

Sorry about the beard, Annie. Maybe Conan didn't realize how much it meant to you.

Craig Fergussen does not fail to impress. He refuses to pick on celebrities when they are down (remember how he stopped dissing on Britaney?), and he's smart as a whip.

If nice words will get honorary citizenship, I'd like to say a few words to the people of my favorite country Holland.

To the people of Holland,

I love your wooden shoes, fine azzed population (seriously, how did one country end up with so many good looking people?), your canals, democracy and liberal policies on...everything. Your coffeshops sell sensei indica buds (stinky in the best possible way) and your space cakes make trips to the Rembrantplein's Tuschinski theater even more surreal.
Someday I hope to find out who owns that mannequin that overlooks the bustop on Constantijn Huygenstraat. PLEASE make me an honorary citizen!

Conan's a jerk for not sharing his beard with Annie B. Especially after she shared the spotlight with that monkey (meant in a literal sense, there was a monkey in the shoot).

Oh and Annie you are not alone -- I will miss Conan's beard terribly.

Nice to see some Craig Ferguson love on here! Though one of the things I always loved about him was that he WASN'T a U.S. Citizen. Oh well, I'm over it!

Nice job, Craig. And Annie, the Belgians aren't snooty...last time I was there they were really nice. And you can keep the waffles - hand over the beer and Godiva! (Though maybe not together, yick.)
By the way, Barbados, I hear you have lovely cuisine. And beaches. (Hint, hint.)

Congratulations to Craig, the funniest man on TV. Great to have you here!
