Help Mitch Albom develop his next million-dollar idea

Oprah_l Watching previews for the TV movie Oprah Winfrey Presents: Mitch Albom's For One More Day (airing this Sunday on ABC), in which an embittered man gets to spend more time with his dead mother and (we're guessing here) learns an important life lesson, we couldn't help feeling we'd seen similar stories of supernatural uplift before. (Wonder if Albom gets tired of people asking him, "Where do you get your idea?")

But if Oprah is backing Albom, there's gotta be real money in this stuff. So we're submitting a couple ideas for inspirational made-fors that we'd be willing to ghost-write:

Oprah Winfrey Presents: Mitch Albom's One More Kegger: An embittered junior executive gets to go back and attend that frat party that he missed where all his friends got lucky.

Oprah Winfrey Presents: Mitch Albom's One More Ride: An embittered online editor is briefly reunited with the nice bike he foolishly left overnight at the South Orange, NJ, train station.

Oprah Winfrey Presents: Mitch Albom's One Different Drink: An embittered secretary is sent back to the deli, where she changes her order and has a V8.

Oprah Winfrey Presents: Mitch Albom's The Five People You Fool Around With in Heaven

Oprah Winfrey Presents: Mitch Albom's The Five People You Get to Text-Message in Purgatory

Oprah Winfrey Presents: Mitch Albom's The Five People You Room With in Hell

Oprah Winfrey Presents: Mitch Albom's Two More Hours: An embittered TV critic's dead journalism professor returns to tell him he can go back in time and not watch one TV movie.

What do you think PopWatchers? Do Oprah and Mitch need to get a new act? And do you have any inspirational TV-movie ideas you'd like to submit here? (We promise we'll forward any money they send us, minus postage, handling, and commission.)

I have been sitting on a brilliant idea for a movie and didn't know where to turn. I just watched 5 people you meet in heaven and had to find out who the writer was. I then googled Mitch Alboms and came across this. I believe that my idea is much too great to share with the public and after watching this movie I feel that he would be the perfect person to help write this fantastic idea I have. I don't know who is receiving this but I would appreciate it if someone could email me and see where this goes.

Oprah Winfrey presents: Mitch Albom's Puppies and Children, preferably with terminal illnesses- why not go all-out to beg for viewer sympathy?

Oprah Winfrey presents: Mitch Albom's Lazy Sunday- a man gets one more day to live and spends it wasting time and watching the Chronic-what?!-cles of Narnia.

Mitch Albom's Deja I Wuv Vu. A man who is bad is dying. And a woman from his past comes to their bedside and he gets to relive one special moment. They go through his catalogue of moments and meh. I'm bored already. Zzzzzzzzzzz.

Mitch Albom's Wednesdays at The Diner: A run-down greasy spoon turns a profit thanks to a weekly meatloaf special.

Oprah Winfrey presents: Mitch Albom's The Lame Blogger. A medicore hack writes a petulant column whining about how a successful writer's success irks him and then asks for agreement so he can feel better about his own lack of success. Sound good, Tom, or does it hit too close to home?

Oprah Winfrey Presents: Mitch Albom's "A Two Hour Snore". A novelist who pens a book about anguish, and every day life then sells the rights of the novel to a television network that believes if prescription sleep aids can't do the trick, perhaps the authors movies will.

One More Slice: The Mitch Albom Pizza. An embittered young man magically gets one more slice after his girlfriend just totally yoinked the last of the stuffed-crust pepperoni and mushroom.

Oprah Presents Mitch Albom's The Mitch Albom Story: an embittered sports columnist fakes a huge story in the paper and the people of Detroit turn against him. Oh and they hate his radio show too.

Albom's works are like the Chicken Soup books except they are more geared for middle aged adults. Secondly I think that he knows that the books are going to be developed into Lifetime, Oxygen, or ABC television films just like some of John Grishams novels were turned into movies.
