Normally, this kind of WGA strike tidbit would go on our Hollywood Insider blog (which you should totally be checking, like, twice an hour to see which of your favorite TV shows will never recover from the work stoppage)... but it's just funny enough to make it here.

I don't find the office funny at all. I wont miss the Office if its cancelled since I don't watch it anyways.

Dear Mr. Bernardin,
Until I watched this clip, I myself had only been keeping a slight watch on the WGA strike, because, well, it didn't seem that important to me. That is until this clip and the fact that the Oct. 13 SNL aired last night. I am a writer for my high school newspaper, and I realized that not ONE of my peers is writing about this, when I know that many of my friends absolutely WORSHIP The Office and other shows that are in jeopardy. So I have taken it upon myself to write this article and keep my classmates in the know. I know in your blog update you mentioned the Hollywood Insider Blog, which I will be adding to my favorites and checking as faithfully as Popwatch now (every fifteen minutes) , but I would also like to know if there are any other sources I may be able to check so that I may acquire more facts about the strike.

Once all the scripted shows run out of scripts, I'm going to stop watching tv altogether. It's going to hurt me, but I REFUSE to sit through the dozens of guaranteed crappy reality tv shows and reruns the networks plan to throw at me come January. We all should ban that scab made crap! A good old fashioned boycott of crap will not only get us to read more, it'll make us appreciate tv when the good stuff comes back on.
The writers deserve to get royalties for their work. If the webisodes make no $$$, how come EVERY NETWORK now offers their shows online for free? Maybe because the online ad campaigns are proving more lucrative than previously believed possible?
As for DVD sales, the writers are asking for something like 1 penny for every dollar a dvd sells for. The people who make the dvd and the clamshell get more than that!
I thought it was funny to see the actors' trailers with signs that say "on strike".

I support the writers 100%...as much as I'll miss the shows, they need to hold out as long as they can...they deserve the rewards for their work, the studio heads certainly make their $ off of them...Go WGA! (not affiliated with the WGA, any writers, actors, studios or Hollywood in any way...)

the clip was interesting: and I also liked seeing the behind the scenes, but I guess I just expected it to be "funny". The commentary leading in said it was so funny it deserved to be on Popwatch as opposed to the regular strike blog. So I just assumed it was more than them discussing the strike, like something funny happened. It was interesting and entertaining, but I certainly wouldn't call it funny in the traditional sense of the word.

JP and Anne, I thought this clip was funny! I like seeing behind the scenes banter between the cast and producers. They showed that you can address your concerns without being a snarling angry, screaming union leader. What were you guys expecting? A scripted episode of The Office? They are on strike. They are p'd off. But it was still funny.

Where is the humor in the clip? I do not care for the sour Kelly and Toby. I understand they want to get paid, and am not against it, but good grief--don't ruin it for the folks who watch The Office.

No Office, Colbert Report or Daily Show. Lock the F**** in a room until this crap is agreed to. Then do the same in July for the actors and directors. I'll have to sign up for Netflix.
