Entertainers of the Year: Who'd we miss?

Nov 23, 2007, 01:00 PM | by Dawnie Walton

Categories:

Today Entertainment Weekly unveiled its 25 top stars of 2007, and it's no surprise that J.K. Rowling, who pulled off the year's most miraculous feat -- that would be making people around the world stop what they were doing and read a book -- got the cover and the crown. But it was also a pleasant surprise to see folks like Will Ferrell and Adam McKay (the FunnyOrDie.com guys) and the cast of Mad Men get big love.

But since this is a list -- and we know how you luuuurve debating lists -- who's egregiously missing? Many EW.com readers may be shocked to see that the cast of The Office (who won second place in our Entertainers of the Year readers' bracket game) is nowhere to be found. Should they be in here? Who else? Tell us about it below!

Patti Mon, Nov 26, 2007 at 11:07 PM EST

Why on God's earth is Angelina Jolie on this list? The only entertaining she did was pick her kid up from school and make a fiasco of that. Her acting is atrocious! If you rated her on tabloid entertainment, than Britney should be the ultimate winner!

sue Mon, Nov 26, 2007 at 10:43 PM EST

Casey Affleck? Cate Blanchett? and for the love of God, why would you add Angelina Jolie!!!? She is a worn out ****!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!

Pete Mon, Nov 26, 2007 at 10:34 PM EST

Angelina Jolie? That name alone should tell anyone that this list is biggest pile of poo yet.

B. Mon, Nov 26, 2007 at 09:54 PM EST

Good to know that I am not the only the one who questioned Katherine Hiegl's name on this list. Judd Apatow should have been the solo picture with his actors in a group shot. Why her and not Steve Carrell, Stephen Colbert or either of the Affleck brothers is beyond me.

Annette Mon, Nov 26, 2007 at 08:08 PM EST

Uh, the year's not over yet, as others have posted, what was the rush to print this issue? Next year, take your time and you may get it right.

Question: How is Will Smith one of the Entertainers of the Year, and his movie hasn't even been released, yet you have made no mention of Russell Crowe who released two hit movies in two different genres that were hits?
I'm perplexed, to say the least.

PS Please stop bowing at the throne of George Clooney, EW, it's getting a little obvious now.

Jes Mon, Nov 26, 2007 at 04:57 PM EST

It's really sad to see how bad and out of touch Entertainment Weekly has gotten. Ive been a subscriber to this magazine since the very first issue and I let my subscription go. The magazine flat out sucks now and the website is just as bad.

Roger Mon, Nov 26, 2007 at 04:05 PM EST

No Andy Samberg on this list means you're still painfully out of touch with the Web's influence on entertainment today. And with the youth of this country.

chris-toe-fur Mon, Nov 26, 2007 at 04:01 PM EST

Don't get me wrong - I love Tommy Lee Jones, and his work in "No Country for Old Men" is fantastic, but "In the Valley of Elah"? So-so at best. How about Josh Brolin? A great turn in "No Country", respectable supporting work in "Elah", and two classic slimeball villain performances in "American Gangster" and "Grindhouse". Hard to beat that for an actor's 2007.

AJ Mon, Nov 26, 2007 at 03:55 PM EST

Where is Battlestar Galactica? The best show on TV has a fantastic season, makes your Must List, but is missing from the EotY issue? Also, as some have mentioned, there is still a month left to go! Amy Adams (Enchanted), Johnny Depp (Sweeney Todd), and Nicole Kidman (Margot at the Wedding, The Golden Compass) should all be on there!

Sean Mon, Nov 26, 2007 at 03:40 PM EST

I agree with most of these posts. How can you "crown" the entertainers of the year, when there is still a month left to go? Having said that, Amy Adams should have been on this list. She IS Enchanted, which is poised to be the biggest hit of the holiday season.

rls Mon, Nov 26, 2007 at 02:38 PM EST

Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band - showing all the kids how rock and roll is done.
Count me in with those bummed that the entertainers of the year issue is out now. I love my end of year EW issue with entertainers and all the best of list. The year-end issue had better be AWESOME.

mykietown Mon, Nov 26, 2007 at 01:57 PM EST

how can you leave off Timbaland? don't bother putting him on a second-hand list cause it's too late to apologize...

Mon, Nov 26, 2007 at 01:19 PM EST

I have to agree with most of the posters on here and say that your list STINKS EW.

Lee Mon, Nov 26, 2007 at 12:57 PM EST

You picked Rihanna over Timbaland? I don't even like hip-hop/rap that much but I really enjoyed all of the songs he produced and appeared on this year.

Will Smith? His movie hasn't even come out yet! And as much as I love JKR, there were plenty of other authors and books that made an impact in 2007 like Stephanie Meyer's "Twilight" trilogy or Michael Chabon's "Yiddish Policeman's Union." And no mention of any Broadway shows or performers? And you needed more geek love! "Chuck", "Reaper", and "Pushing Daisies" show that the new leading man is a likable dork.

Brad Mon, Nov 26, 2007 at 12:53 PM EST

ARCADE FIRE.

I mean these guys changed my view on music. And they were my first concert (Which was life-changing).

Once again I say:

ARCADE FIRE!

Lauryl Mon, Nov 26, 2007 at 12:45 PM EST

The first thing I thought when I saw the picture of the Apatow gang, where is Michael Cera??? He's my favorite of the whole crew...

oh dear Mon, Nov 26, 2007 at 12:43 PM EST

Where is The Office? How could that cast not be put in here? Can someone please explain becuase it is hands down the best show on TV. Oh EW how could you not include them?

Huh? Mon, Nov 26, 2007 at 12:19 PM EST

Some of the picks this year are a little out there. Angelina Jolie was not that entertaining, I mean her movie flopped. Will Smith's movie has not even come out yet so who knows if it will be any good. I will agree with you're number one pick, it was definitely her year

GATO Mon, Nov 26, 2007 at 12:02 PM EST

how could you leave off the whole cast of ugly betty??!!?? I love Vanessa, but no love for America & the other fine actors? I haven't enjoyed this is issue in years.(used to love it.) PS still bitter you ignored mariah in 05

Mon, Nov 26, 2007 at 11:53 AM EST

I'm happy to know that I was not the only one confused by your Entertainers of the Year list. Angelina Jolie was nothing but tabloid fodder, and that should have gone to tabloid queen Britney. Also, Will Smith and George Clooney? Don't get me wrong, both fine actors, but they really didn't do much this year (Michael Clayton sucked). And where were Fergie, anyone from FNL, Justin Timberlake, and Perez? But I do understand not including Lost and the Office, as they were both featured prominently in recent Entertainer of the Year issues. And thank you for getting the Number 1 Entertainer of the Year correct.

denny Mon, Nov 26, 2007 at 11:35 AM EST

The unholy duo of Perez Hilton and TMZ.
Kelly Clarkson (who can forget the drama surrounding My December and her smackdown with Clive Davis? Especially when the album actually delivered!)
The ensembles of ABC primetime (Ugly Betty, Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy, Pushing Daisies, Lost, etc.)
SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE. By far the most entertaining thing in entertainment this summer, with real talent to spare. It may have started off as American Idol's bastard stepchild, but it has far surpassed Idol in terms of talent and entertainment. Plus, the fall tour sold out within hours. The dancers, the judges, and the incredible (and incredibly gorgeous) host, Cat Deeley, defined entertainment this year.

Annie Mon, Nov 26, 2007 at 10:44 AM EST

As I guess many have said: The cast of The Office (and Jenna Fischer in particular . . . she was The Office in it's third season).

Honestly, few of the people on EW's list entertained me this year, so I found the issue very poorly advertised. JK Rowling was a great pick for number one, but other than that, I've never been more disappointed in the Entertainer of the Year issue.

GeeMoney Mon, Nov 26, 2007 at 09:33 AM EST

Justin Timberlake! I can't believe you didn't put him on there. Shame on you, EW....

kath Mon, Nov 26, 2007 at 07:51 AM EST

I don't understand how Perez, YouTube and TMZ are not on here, considering that almost every story on the EW website now has links to them. You may not like it, but they are a non-stop entertaining source, 24/7. All major news outlets now refer to them and use their footage on their tv shows.

Nix Sun, Nov 25, 2007 at 11:45 PM EST

What a perfect list! The publicists who schmooze you to plant their clients must be rewarded.

nomorehsm Sun, Nov 25, 2007 at 07:01 PM EST

Heigl? Smith? Jolie? Efron? What extraordinarily bad taste. I am, however glad to see Mad Men get a nod. It's a terrific show.

Jonathan F. Sun, Nov 25, 2007 at 05:46 PM EST

LOST

and for your "Memorable Performances" section: Kelly Clarkson singing Patty Griffin's 'Up to the Mountain' on Idol Gives Back

CC Sun, Nov 25, 2007 at 05:38 PM EST

Justin Timberlake. I mean...how did he not make it? Another reminder why I didn't renew my subscription.

J Lo Sun, Nov 25, 2007 at 03:38 PM EST

Time and time again, Sandra Oh is upstaged by the less talented but pretty blond girl. Cristina is the only reason why I'm still watching GA. I'm a little late to the party, but I generally agree with all the other posters - where is JT, Cate Blanchett, cast of Lost, Office? WTF chose Angelina and George Clooney??

Kirsten Sun, Nov 25, 2007 at 02:57 PM EST

Shia, Tommy Lee Jones and FunnyOrDie were by far the most inspired inclusions on the list. I have to agree that Katherine Heigl, Will Smith and Anjelina Jolie, while all talented entertainers, this may not have been the best year to include them. Michael Hogan had an incredible run on Battlestar Galactica, Amy Ryan was stunning in Gone Baby Gone (and also popped up in Dan in Real Life and Before the Devil Knows You're Dead), and although I personally don't love her, Fergie seemed to entertain a whole lot of people this year.

Vivi Sun, Nov 25, 2007 at 02:01 PM EST

I'm kinda confused as to why Will Smith made this list. What exactly did he entertain us with in 2007? Really. Someone explain.

Besides that misstep, I'm pretty much satisfied with the list. I still think ABC should get major props for the number of great shows (and CAST) the channel has. Vanessa making the list, cool. But I think she should be joined with the rest of the cast from "Ugly Betty". All this hate for Katherine Heigl is quite disturbing. The girl is a star. Get over it! Also, her storyline on GA is not "atrocious". Get over it!

YAY for Shia making the list.

Nick Sun, Nov 25, 2007 at 01:31 PM EST

Where is Jay-Z on your list, or even Kanye West.

HB Sun, Nov 25, 2007 at 01:19 PM EST

Why is Angelina Jolie on this list again. She carried out the most world famous affair with a vanilla-dumb actor, has a child, adopted all the third world's children, jumps from one end of the earth to the other in search of her own missing soul. Does a movie which should have gone to a black actress, puts on blackface to play the role, turns off most movie goers. Decides to be the voice of a cartoon character using the same accent that she used in Alexander, AMH, Sky Captain etc., and we crown her the "Entertainer of the year."

I am very dissapointed. Entertainment Weekly, I would have expected that your publication above all others would never buy into Hollywood hype, but you did. Your choice of Jolie was uninspired, and shows that you bought into her overhyped tabloid image that does not seem to actually "Entertain" us, since we never go to see her movies anyway.

Sandra Sun, Nov 25, 2007 at 01:13 PM EST

Angelina Jolie???? Are you guys really serious?? What did she do this year that was so "Entertaining?" Either she has paid EW off to get listed, or EW is sooo stuck high up in her arsehole.

AMH BOMBED, she was in Beowulf for all of 7 minutes, and that makes her entertaining?? I'm sorry, I beg to differ. I think her personal life has got all of your heads warped. Angelina Jolie discredits your entire list. I am soooo sick of seeing the woman's face everywhere I turn.

David Sun, Nov 25, 2007 at 12:45 PM EST

It's a shame you haven't included Barbra Streisand. Her world concerts have entertained many the good old-fashioned way...with raw, unequaled TALENT. She continues to impress in a world sideswiped by celebrity...which is not near the likes of Streisand's position in the stratosphere of entertainers.

Ar Sun, Nov 25, 2007 at 12:07 PM EST

What about Lost?? And Curb your enthusiasm?? They deserve much more than Angelina Jolie this year or even Katherine Heigl (her Grey's storyline is atrocious). But thank you thank you for choosing JK Rowling as entertainer of the year, she is definitely my first choice!

Alyce Sun, Nov 25, 2007 at 10:21 AM EST

Women are ALWAYS hating on Katherine Heigl. I mean it is one thing to not like some one as an actress, but it is another to attack her every where she is mentioned!

slammy Sun, Nov 25, 2007 at 10:00 AM EST

Shame on you EW, missing a chance to slurp Hayden Panettiere.

Tim Sun, Nov 25, 2007 at 08:28 AM EST

How about the writers...By going on strike they have forced millions of people to either watch reruns or .... find other ways to ENTERTAIN themselves. Inadvertently, the writers are responsible for more new forms of entertainment by not working than they have been by working. My vote is for them.

Anthony Sun, Nov 25, 2007 at 02:45 AM EST

Did anyone even get this issue? It didn't come in my mail and I can't find it in any store :(

SJLM90 Sat, Nov 24, 2007 at 10:54 PM EST

One word. Four letters. One punctuation mark.

LOST.

Dave Sat, Nov 24, 2007 at 10:51 PM EST

Thanks for giving Mary-Louise Parker some much deserved attention ... but where, oh where, is the stellar ensemble cast of Battlestar Galactica?

Kelley Sat, Nov 24, 2007 at 10:16 PM EST

How did both the Office and Connie Britton & Kyle Chandler not make the list but Will Smith & Angelina Jolie did? Connie Britton & Kyle Chandler as the Taylors on Friday Night Lights may be one of the best, if not the best, portrayals of a married couple in television ever. And the Office rose from the little show that could to blockbuster in season 3/4. Overlooking that is insane.

McKenzie Sat, Nov 24, 2007 at 09:15 PM EST

I am shocked that Britney Spears was left off for Best Unintentional Entertainer of the Year.

McKenzie Sat, Nov 24, 2007 at 09:15 PM EST

I am shocked that Britney Spears was left off for Best Unintentional Entertainer of the Year.

Kirby Sat, Nov 24, 2007 at 07:38 PM EST

I agree with DL about Michael Cera. Literally every kid in my high school has seen Superbad, and me and my friends went to an advance screening of Juno and it was AWESOME! Also, Arrested Development. Okay, it's over, but still...

bonnylass Sat, Nov 24, 2007 at 12:11 PM EST

I can't complain too much because EW definitely made the right choice with the Entertainer of the Year. My only quibble is the uninspired choice of Angelina Jolie. So she actually 'acted' in a movie nobody watched, then she got naked in a movie that came out like a week ago. Yawn.

Chris Sat, Nov 24, 2007 at 10:58 AM EST

Cate Blanchett. The Affleck brothers. Sidney Lumet. Ryan Gosling.

Again, it seems as if Entertainment Weekly has decided to fall on the side of noise and glamour rather than actual artistic merit. While certainly many of your picks have been in the headlines this year, they have created relatively few truly meaningful works. You have actors and directors who have pushed the bounds of cinema and yet they are ignored. You can have your Entertainers; I'll be in the theater watching truly breathtaking art.

DalGal Sat, Nov 24, 2007 at 10:39 AM EST

Thanks for including Tina Fey on the list but how could you not mention Alec Baldwin? He is without a doubt the funniest person on TV today and always delivers an Emmy worthy performance. This show is is a laugh out loud riot every week. Oh and you could have also mentioned Tracy Morgan, Jane Kratowsky, Kenneth the Page and everyone else who makes this the complete ensemble show.

Stephen Sat, Nov 24, 2007 at 09:36 AM EST

And, HOW could you neglect Alec Baldwin? True, the writing on 30 Rock is nothing less than genius, but it takes another genius to quip those jokes off so rapidly and so spot on. No one else could play that role. And Alec has the awards to prove it.

Stephen Sat, Nov 24, 2007 at 09:34 AM EST

I also think you should include any and all leaked videos, recordings, and pictures. If you need examples, look no further than Alec Baldwin, David Hasselhoff, Miss Kentucky, and Vanessa Hudgens.

Julia Sat, Nov 24, 2007 at 09:19 AM EST

When you were asking for reader input re. this list, I clearly remember thinking "If they include anyone who had anything to do with Grey's Anatomy, I'll lose all respect for this magazine". Seldom has a series's quality degenerated so dramatically and rapidly as Grey's--but lo and behold! Katherine Heigl, one half of the biggest "relationship" nightmare ever to grace our television screens makes the cut! Unforgivable.

J.L. Westing Sat, Nov 24, 2007 at 04:12 AM EST

Isn't it ironic. The entertainer of the year is a writer. As hundreds strike for their voice to be heard and paid for, one voice and her work speaks millions... or was it billions? Without J.K. Rowling there wouldn't be a story, a movie, an actor, a director, a producer, a grip or Harry Potter lunch-box... should I go on? Let's remember all the writers and how they make us laugh, cry, think and feel. Thank you EW for recognizing the quiet voice of the writers who bring us so much entertainment!

As for others that should be included: Sean Penn penned and directed a movie that moved me - Into the Wild. The lead of this movie, Emile Hircsh, lost more weight than Tom Hanks in Castaway and gained my respect as an incredible actor.

Russell Crowe entertained me in a western and a gangster movie and Britney Spears - she entertained us all year. So here's to the Brits, the Pitts and dimless wits who get in the tabloids every week... thanks for the unwanted memories.

SGO Sat, Nov 24, 2007 at 12:30 AM EST

Sure there are the big stars, but what about the little stars that get no attention? CW stars. People like Allison Mack, John Glover and Michael Rosenbaum deserve so much more attention than they get.

An Emmy for all three, I say.

Beth Sat, Nov 24, 2007 at 12:13 AM EST

Didn't read all of the top 25. I hope that the cast of Two and a Half Men are on it. I started watching the repeats and cannot stop laughing. When are the going to win an Emmy already?????

Sharlin Sat, Nov 24, 2007 at 12:09 AM EST

WHERE IS JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE!!

Who the hell are half of your list??? The purpose they are entertainer's of the year is that they made a significant impact in the pop world, not in the indy i'm too cool scene.

DL Sat, Nov 24, 2007 at 12:00 AM EST

You include Mr. Effron and no Michael Cera? Unforgivable

The man is an amazing talent, and still has Juno coming down the pike this year. Of course, it must be too much work to actually wait until the end of a year to actually evaluate it in its' entirety...

Matthew Fri, Nov 23, 2007 at 11:45 PM EST

I know this is my third comment, but whatever..
I mean I think Vanessa Williams is just as hilarious and great as the next person does, but to include her and not Betty, Amanda, Hilda, Marc, and the whole cast of Ugly Betty is a huge mistake.

Matthew Fri, Nov 23, 2007 at 11:43 PM EST

and ROSE TAYLOR, i bow down to you. you should reprint this issue JUST to include Lily Allen.

Matthew Fri, Nov 23, 2007 at 11:41 PM EST

Uhm, Mel Brooks? HELLO!
Young Frankenstein [THE MUSICAL] is genuis and probably one of the funniest things I've ever seen in my life, even though you gave it a B-. But COME ON! It's Mel Brooks..

Susan Fri, Nov 23, 2007 at 11:36 PM EST

Ok - what about the cast of 30 Rock? Men in Trees? Curb Your Enthusiasm for the greatest finale in its history? These shows prove what a great ensemble cast can do.

NineDaves Fri, Nov 23, 2007 at 11:16 PM EST

you know, i'd like to see some praise go to miss tyra banks. i know she gives herself enough praise as it is, but you have to give it to her - top model is still going strong, and her talk show has plenty of loyal fans. and between her panty party, her "i'm not fat" rant, and her vaj episode, she's getting the press. good for her. she's arrogant as all smack, but she can back it up!

Larry Perez Fri, Nov 23, 2007 at 11:15 PM EST

Entertainment/Gossip websites/blogs.
The casts of Ugly Betty, Lost, Grey's Anatomy, Brothers and Sisters, Entourage.
Reality TV.
"News" shows like Jon Stewart's The Daily Show, Stephen Colbert's The Colbert Report, and Bill Maher's Real Time with Bill Maher.
Gwen Stefani and Fergie.
Justin Timberlake.

Vlada Fri, Nov 23, 2007 at 10:42 PM EST

No cast of Friday Night Lights, really?

Alison Fri, Nov 23, 2007 at 10:42 PM EST

The exclusion of The Office is a huge mistake. Not only is it the funniest show on tv, but it cares enough about its fans to have a CONVENTION! Glad the readers got things right with the bracket game, but shame on you, EW.

Jaime Fri, Nov 23, 2007 at 08:37 PM EST

The inclusion of Katherine Heigl was a huge mistake. She wasn't that great in Knocked Up and she's absolutely atrocious on Grey's. You should have included Michael Cera. He was amazing in Superbad and I still pine for Arrested Development..

Rose Tyler Fri, Nov 23, 2007 at 08:31 PM EST

Wait a minute!? Amy Winehouse not Lily Allen? I get that you praised Lily's album at the end of last year but um it was released in the states this year. Not too mention that Miss Allen managed to cut down on her tabloid fodder, promote a healthy body image and you can understand her when she sings live. Lily's not perfect of course but come on!

Erin Fri, Nov 23, 2007 at 07:56 PM EST

The cast of CSI: NY! They are all fantastic and never get the recognition they deserve. The show constantly has interesting cases and they make sure to focus on the characters personal lives. The acting is spot on every episode and this is the one show that keeps me tuned in each week. :)

Fri, Nov 23, 2007 at 07:37 PM EST

Zac Efron? Seriously? Just because he was in High School Musical 2 and Hairspray this year does not mean he has talent. What a joke.

ceecee Fri, Nov 23, 2007 at 07:23 PM EST

I don't know how George Clooney has to be included this year. Latest Ocean film didn't do as well as the last two. "Michael Clayton" although critically acclaimed failed to impress movie-goers. Russel Crow, however, had two successful movies this year. He managed to get people to go see a western. He deserves more credit for his ability to draw in movie audiences
to the theater.

ceecee Fri, Nov 23, 2007 at 07:12 PM EST

I don't know how a show like "The Office" can be overlooked for an issue such as the entertainers of the year. It's one of the most consistent shows in terms of quality of writing and acting. This is a show that had a lot to overcome since it was a version of the successful UK original, yet it has grown to become its own show and all the characters have become, in their own way, indispensable.

Laurie Fri, Nov 23, 2007 at 07:04 PM EST

The year-in-review issues and articles keep coming earlier and earlier. This, though, is by far the most ridiculous example I've seen yet. It's November 23, for crying out loud. Why not start rolling them out in August or September, right after the fall preview issues, maybe.

Rami Fri, Nov 23, 2007 at 06:05 PM EST

Yes, I'm a bit thrown as well. I always look forward to having my 25 top entertainers combined with the best of the year issue. I've been collecting them and enjoying this since 1998. I hope that we A) still get a solid best of the year issue an d B) hope this is an experiment in format that will be rectified next year. Also I think its a terrible cheat putting the Apatow gang in a combined section while Katherine Heigl gets her own entry. Her plotline on Grey's Anatomy almost made me drop the show entirely. That spot should go to Seth Rogen solo (the rest of the Apatow bunch deserves separate recognition). He's responsible for the two biggest comedy hits of the summer. Give the guy a break.

Jackie Meyer Fri, Nov 23, 2007 at 05:49 PM EST

WHERE IS THE OFFICE??!?!

and i'm glad to see that adam and will got some love, but pearl should have gotten her own shout-out too!!!

and what about the beckhams???/the spice girls?

EndoftheTopEntertainers Fri, Nov 23, 2007 at 05:40 PM EST

I agree Anthony & Aaron.

Top Entertainers is separate magazine?

Huh?!?!

Bill Fri, Nov 23, 2007 at 04:55 PM EST

First you neglected PUSHING DAISES in your "5 Shows to Watch" article (still unforgivable, by the way)... and you haven't made good with the "Best of..." issue.

For everyone bemoaning the Reality TV trend, or onslaught of copycat spin-offs shows... you should give this show a try. It's the most charming and inventive show in ages - with sharp writing and a spectacular cast.

Shame, EW, for the willful neglect of PUSHING DAISES.

Seriously? Fri, Nov 23, 2007 at 04:45 PM EST

Katherine Heigl? She shouldn't get credit for getting drunk behind the scenes at the Golden Globes, (her words not mine), nor should she get credit for Knocked Up. Seth Rogen and the writing owned that movie, not her.

peach Fri, Nov 23, 2007 at 04:42 PM EST

Natalie Zea of Dirty Sexy Money
The delicious comeback of Desperate Housewives
Stardust, the best date film since Princes Bride
Overpowered by Roisin Murphy
Rilo Kiley

Laura Fri, Nov 23, 2007 at 04:10 PM EST

Ok, seriously, why isn't the cast and crew of "The Office" on this list?!?! Even EW acknowledges that tons of EW readers wanted them on the list (2nd place in the readers poll). And of course they SHOULD have been on the list because "The Office" is the funniest, most brilliant show on television! Seriously, EW, what gives?? Why on earth didn't you include them??

Nat Fri, Nov 23, 2007 at 03:51 PM EST

Katherine Heigl? Boy, it's been a bad year.

Christina Fri, Nov 23, 2007 at 03:06 PM EST

What about Bruce Springsteen?

Nikki Fri, Nov 23, 2007 at 02:55 PM EST

Patty,
I totally agree with you about Katherine Heigl. I honestly don't think she can act that good and for me she's way to overated.

Patty Fri, Nov 23, 2007 at 02:51 PM EST

I don't know who got missed, but for God's sake everyone needs to get over Katherine Heigl. Boring!

T Fri, Nov 23, 2007 at 01:55 PM EST

Burn Notice! One of the best shows on cable! Jeffrey Donovan rocks it each episode.

stephen Fri, Nov 23, 2007 at 01:34 PM EST

Isn't this kind of a repost? Slezak alreay asked us who we thought deserved the title. I doubt many of our opinions have changed. (I still go for Ian McEwan).

treee Fri, Nov 23, 2007 at 01:31 PM EST

Michael Cera is missing....

Aaron Fri, Nov 23, 2007 at 01:28 PM EST

Entertainers of the Year in November?? Not part of the End of Year issue?? I feel like a childhood friend has died.

Anthony Fri, Nov 23, 2007 at 01:19 PM EST

Why is this issue out now?? What will the final issue of the year be????
