Nominate the best (and worst) new hairstyles of the TV season!

Miloemily_l I love everything about ABC's Brothers & Sisters. Actually, that's a lie. I love everything about ABC's Brothers & Sisters except for the heinous new bangs they've slapped on Emily VanCamp's moody half-sister Rebecca this season. Every time she takes the screen, I'm so disoriented/distraught that I have to use my DVR "seven-second jumpback button" (the one with the swirly arrow — if you haven't discovered it, it's downright miraculous)to get myself back into the action.

Meanwhile, I'd agree with 99 percent of the world (including series creator Tim Kring) that season two of Heroes has been hella jank. That said, there's been one positive development lost in all the kvetching: Milo Ventimiglia's shorter haircut. Out are the floppy, emo-boy locks that obscured Peter's eyes throughout season one. In: a sudden and unfeasible case of sexy.

In fact, I feel so strongly about Peter and Rebecca's 'dos, I nominate them respectively as the best and worst new hairstyles of the current TV season. But, by all means, if you think other updated coifs deserve recognition, list 'em in the comments section below. After all, winning first prize doesn't mean anything unless there's a first-runner-up in tears.

I don't watch Brothers and Sisters but from the picture I think Jennifer Morrison's new blonde look is far worse. She looks hideous as a blonde, losing any appeal she might have had imho. Best new hair is harder although Milo is a hottie with or without the emo bang (liking the without though).

I love Tyra's hair on Friday Night Lights, it is so cute! Could do without the 2 tone color, though. I agree, even if Jennifer Morrisson on House is a natural blonde, she looks totally washed out, yuk. Much better as a brunette! Much as I love Riggins on FNLights, get some shampoo & wash that greasy mess! Who has gorgeous hair is Evangeline Lilly on Lost & it looks totally natural.

Mariska Hargitay (Olivia Benson)~off of Law and Order SVU, can do any hair stlye and it shows! Every season she has different hairstyles;long,
short, dark hair, brown, light drown:etc; (&& she can master thoughs hair dues like they are another dress to put on!) You have to admit she looks beautiful♥ So Mariska should win BEST HAIR of TV season! you know she deserves it♥♥

Of course Chuck's hairdo is bad, his sister probably cuts it for him. If he had a decent haircut, you would not see Chuck, you would see Zach who is a sexy, sexy man.

Wow...all I could think after looking at the photo gallery was that someone needs to feed Kathryn Morris a cupcake. She looks awful! When did she get so skinny? And when did she get fish lips? Looks like we lost another beautiful woman to "Hollywood beauty."

YAY! to the people who mentioned Allison Mack's hair improving so much this season. Last season's helmety bangs and soccer mom style was horrible. Now, I would like to see her get some length back, but the bangs, cut and color are so much better this year. She definitely gets my vote for most improved female. Peter on Heroes gets most improved male. Love his haircut.

After looking through the photo gallery, you know who I thought of? Charlie (David Krumholtz) from Numb3rs. I think most of the audience of that show consists of girls who can't get enough of his dark curls, and they've nailed down just the right amount of scruff for him this season. Sigh. GREAT hair.

The worst TREND is the Bad-Bangs thing. They are eating faces throughout Hollywood... covering up otherwise gorgeous women. BadBangs victims:
- Alyson Hannigan
- Tyra Banks
- Emily on Brothers & Sisters
- Kristen Bell is at orange-alert with her bangs

In other bad-hair... I hate Sock's inverted triangle 'do on Reaper.

Peter on Heroes has most-improved locks, I agree.

The poor blonde girl from America's Next Top Model with the BAD extensions. She looks like she has some kind of elbino animal hair on top of her head. I can't beleve even Tyra thinks it is a good look for her. She should win just for wearing it on national TV.

Best Male: Tyler Labine as Sock in Reaper

Sock is one of the more underappreciated characters on television.

Best Female: Swoosie Kurtz as Aunt Vivian in Pushing Daisies

The sort-of off-kilter bob look is right in step with a very strange show.

Worst Male: Adrian Pasdar as Nathan Petrelli in Heroes

What were they thinking with the various hairstyles Pasdar has gone with? He looks like a greaser and it doesn't help with that horrendous beard.

Worst Female: Erica Durance as Lois Lane in Smallville

Caught the strange, full-of-bangs hairstyle last night and couldn't recognize the character or actress at all.

LOVE alison hannigan's new hair cut on HIMYM! I could have the color red or black, but i just think the style is so much fresher and hipper than she usually wears it. Plus, give the girl a break, she's been wearing her hair red since the days of buffy the vampire slayer. i can finally look at her and not think "Hey, there's Willow" with her new look.

Add me to the list of those who hate Rebecca's bangs (I didn't like her Bangs of Sadness on Everwood, either, but those weren't as bad) or Cameron's extreme blondeness on House. I know she's a natural blonde, but it washes her out. Then again, I HATED her blocky bangs from last season, too.

The girls on Gossip Girl all have tremendous, sexy hair.

Lively's got the long, full goddess hair; Meester's working the Old Hollywodd femme fatale angle, and Kelly R's rocking the WASP mom for all it's worth.

And I agree, that Natalie Zea is working the slick, sexpot socialite coiffure.

Best: I like Chuck's hair! It suits his character. Nobody that nerdy would waste a lot of time and money at the stylist. I also like Peter Petrelli's new cut on Heroes. He's turned into a major hottie. Too bad the show is so stinky this season.
Worst: Lilly on HIMYM. I like the style, but speaking as a redhead, I miss those auburn locks. And Kathyn Morris' hair on Cold Case is pretty bad. The first couple of seasons, her hair was sort of messy and pinned back, which suited her character. Now it looks as though she spends a couple of hours a week at the salon. Not very accurate for a show about a homicide detective.

Agree with t. Kristin Chenoweth's pixie cut is cute and perfect for the character. Ellen Pompeo's hair on Grey's has been looking much better with some volume -- it was a hot stringy mess before.

Worst hair has got to be Jenah on ANTM. At least Saleisha's hair is shiny and healthy-looking; poor Jenah has, in the wise words of Michael Slezak, America's most broke-down weave.

Ditto to whoever said they loved Tyra's (Adrianne Palicki) new short bob. She looks awesome with shorter hair! Emily (VanCamp) should totally try a short haircut like that. She'd look smokin' as well.

I'd have to give my worst vote to the girl from Cold Case too. I've never liked her hair and it seems to just get worse and worse every year.

I love everything about Lily on How I Met Your Mother including her new do. They had flashbacks last week with her old hair and it just showed how much better she looks. I don't like Dr. Cameron's new hair on House or Sam's hair on ER(of course I might be one of the few viewers left to even notice).

What about Hodgins on Bones. They cut the beard and the hair. I don't know if I like the cleaned up version. It's not terrible, but I really liked the beard and the poof of hair. Also, does Lynette on Desperate Housewives count. I know she has cancer and they had to get rid of the hair. I think she can pull off the bald look for the most part. I also like Pam's hair on the office. Fancy New Beesly indeed...

A hairdo that always bothered me was Jorjo Fox's character on CSI. The part down the middle, no bangs, hanging flat. She never changed it; at least not while I watched the show.

OMG - Kathryn Morris from Cold Case - worst cut/style/bangs/weird pieces that hang behind her ears....seriously? My thoughts are - after Ken Paves wreaked hairstyle havoc on the models over at ANTM, he then paid a visit (revenge of some sort maybe?) to Kathryn Morris's trailer and well..you know the rest!

It's awesome that you say that, Michael, because Emily VanCamp's bangs in season 2 of Everwood were much-talked-about as well. Every time she displayed them, she seemed to be going through a mental breakdown/drug problem incident.

I disagree with you Slezak about Emily's bangs. I like the look. It's very 80's post-perm Goldie Hawn. And I think she pulls it off.
But my fav hair has to be Natalie Zea from Dirty Sexy Money. It's Kelly Garrett meets Falon Carrington meets FABULOUS!
Worst hair? Chace Crawford from Gossip Girl. Holy Zak Efron! It's a frosted High School Musical hot mess.
