I think it's a legit performance...I found this phone interview with a guy on a blogsite who actually found her and she was apparently completely in the dark that this had even made it onto youtube until they called her and asked her about it!

Was that even real, or was it doctored? It could have easily been faked. The announcer voice sounds staged and there are no crowd sounds whatsoever.

A good friend of mine worked on the telecast of this beauty pageant and first showed me this clip 7 yrs ago. It's the 1990 or 1991 Miss Arizona Pageant and name of the contestant in the clip is Miss Douglas, Arizona, Stacey Hedger. **This remains one of the funniest clips I've ever seen.

Based on the hair and the outfit, it's probably a late 1980's pageant -- maybe Jr. Miss. Which means that this girl is now likely a subirban mother of 3 with this video of herself hidden away carefully from her husband and kids.

My sister was a baton twirler in the early 80's, and she has threatened all of us if we ever show those videos to her kids. She even hid the still photos.

I felt kind of bad for the Teen USA contestant who came off like a dolt, but I thought might have just been seriously flustered. In this case, no, that wasn't her being flustered, and gosh, golly, I don't actually know what that was! Notice there was no sound of applause at the end.
