This drumming gorilla makes me want to eat some candy!

No, it's not a real gorilla. But this spot, featuring "In The Air Tonight," is a real commercial, and one of which Phil Collins himself wholeheartedly approves. It's hard to pinpoint the greatest thing about this ad. The full minute of a gorilla mentally preparing for his chance to shine? The way he sort of cracks his neck before he begins to truly rock? Or is it the obvious one -- that drumming gorillas have nothing to do with chocolate? You decide.

UPDATE: Michael Slezak says: "I don't think I'm a fan of gorillas, unless they're in their natural habitat." I couldn't disagree more. I only want to see (fake) gorillas on the drums. There is a river of Cadbury's Dairy Milk gushing between our opinions on appropriate settings for gorillas. Where do you stand, P-Dubs?

Clever idea but not that well executed. They gave away the joke too soon.

Was this ad made before or after the ad for my new sitcom "Carpoolers"? The ad that aired this Saturday and does the exact same thing with the same song except with four guys in a car?

Sorry Annie, but I have to agree with Slezak on this one. A little creepy for me ! And the gorilla can't even play the drums well (here's something I never thought I'd type...)!

That is FANTASTIC! Look for that gorilla to finish off the remainder of the White Stripes tour in Meg's absence.

It's cute, but by the time I had finally seen it about a week ago, there had been so much hype it couldn't live up to it. Plus, the YouTube "pause" preview gives away the ending.

That? Is fan-freaking-tastic.

HILARIOUS.

Also, this song spreads like wild fire. Go up to a friend and sing it in their face. Three days later you will run into a friend of a friend who is walking down the street going "I can feel it, cooooming in the aaaaair tonight...hold aaah on..." If there was no one else on the street they would also be air drumming.

We love commercials that rely on stupid humor particuarly with creatues domesticated and non domesticated. This is why the Taco Bell Chihuahua, The Aflack Duck/Goat, Morris the Cat, Staples Copy Cat, Meow Mix, and the Geico Gekko have been very successful. The Cavemen...it was funny for a few commericals then it got irritating, as will the television show, but I digress. We thrive on this stuff because after a hard day of work we need something stupid on television other than a reality game show to make us laugh. A drumming gorilla to us spreads just as smooth as butter on toast.

I love it and I adore Cadbury. Once I had Cadbury, other chocolates tasted like ear wax.

For once...I don't know what to say..

Very appropriate that Phil Collins, who did the music for Disney's Tarzan, is being used here.

I liked it!

I saw that on television the other day (in England). I was just sitting there like, what. the. hell. haha! Cadbury's is waaaay better than Hersheys, and Phil Collins rocks!
