Claire is the one that gets me. Maybe if she grated her teeth a little harder while she spoke I'd be able to maintain my willing suspension of disbelief, but I doubt it.

It's been months, but I must speak after much thinking
Nikki/Jessica, I like. Ali does a pretty good job trying to make this character likeable. It's just that, like everyone else, we see her and go, "To the Mental Ward". Not weak.
Ando and Hiro can sometimes make me mad with their "heroes" destiny jist but they're not weak. Just overrated.
Molly, whatever. She's in a coma half the time.
Mohinder, he was better when Sylar (Wonderful, wonderful acting) came around, but was still so dull.
Matt's scenes I hated, but that may be beacuse of his annoying wife (So glad he divorced her). If he turns bad, his character might be boosted.
Peter is boring. And not that pretty. But he can do.
Who do I think are the weakest links?

Maya: When she got shot, that was just bad. Zombie much? So bad there's a lack of glee for her even in her own castmates.
Claire: If season 3 deals with her stupid high school issues AGAIN, then...

Molly the little girl is so pretty, she NEEDS to stay. In fact, if she dies I will stop watching the show... In fact she needs to be the one to kill Sylar in the end--think about it, he killed her parents and it would be the most appropriate ending.

but mainly because she's pretty and she is the only reason i watch that show. I want them to give her more screen time!!!!! Her performance is NOT gratng because she's such an amazing and beautiful actress :|

Hmm this has happened before. I should learn my lesson... I have ups and downs with heroes. One minute I don't like it, and the next minute I do. I commented after I think Season 2 episode 3 or 4. But now I am up to 4 or 5 and it was a REALLY good episode. That black girl who I thought was promising... well she had the coolest episode ever. I wont explain incase someone is reading who hasn't seen up to this part yet. But other characters where great in this episode too. Some of them aren't very good at acting, and a few are really annoying, and the story does drag on fooorrreeeeevvveeeeeeerrrrrrr.......

..but sometimes it is just so compelling. After this last episode it got me really excited to see what happens next. I have to give it credit for doing that. I just hope it doesn't lose me again near the end of the seasons, like what happened in season 1. I'll see I suppose.

Ehhh now that I really think about it... I know I just mentioned half the cast, but the other half piss me off too. Ando is indeed lame. The old dude is dead. Niki and her miniature lionel ritchie son just piss me off. They are both boring and useless and she just doesn't belong on tv imo - except porn. Peter is cool because he can do everything but he annoys me too and the amnesia story is dire. His brother annoys me too, beard or no beard. The young blonde girl is hot but she annoys me too. And so does her new boyfriend. They bring some kinda dawsons creek angle or whatever, but I dont like them either. I think I hate everyone on this show and I hope it ends so people will stop telling me I am lame for not watching it. There is one exception though. The new black girl that works in the burger place. I like her. She is quite promising.

Mohinder is handsome yeah, but he annoys me too and he isn't a good actor. Sometimes he is GREAT, but 98% of the time he is bad. Besides him, I don't like Matt either. I don't find him believable as a tough guy, a hero, a cop, or a detective. I know people like him in real life, and they all work in a boring office. And lastly, Molly... I hate her. She overacts and she is just so horrible. HORRIBLE little spoilt child actor brat. I bet she is good in interviews because she is so full of herself. If she was older and a guy, I would love to beat her up. Ok I'll be honest.. even as a little girl, I want to beat her up. I am still watching the show because I want to see a bad guy rip the top of her head off and blood go all over her stupid little hollywood face. So yeah, I agree with the article, only a bit more violently. Also, this show doesn't really impress me. It drags everything out too long. Most modern shows seem to do that now. And Sylar annoys me too. He looks like a comedy actor

I must be in the minority because I think Ali Larter is one of the better actors on the show... it seems like people are criticizing her storyline, not her acting. I think she has one of the more difficult roles, really.

Across the board though, the acting is cheesy and bad. Some are better than others, some are just grating on the nerves... like Parkman's wife, what a b*tch! I'm glad she's gone. Mohinder sucks, Peter is terrible, Hiro grates sometimes, Ando overacts but he's cute. Molly is just so incredibly annoying.

I've remarked at least once an episode how terrible the acting is... but I don't think Ali Larter is the weakest link. I think it's Mohinder.

Mohinder. Good looks, but horrible actor. I know he is supposed to be to Professor X to these other characters, but c'mon. How many times must we look at his confused face and play connect-the-dots for him? He doesn't know up from down, and in this universe, he should've never gotten so far. It's as though the writers don't like him either, putting him in a common-law partnership with Parkman that seems more "Odd Couiple" than showing sincere concern for the little girl. Death to his character (or lack thereof.)

I like Mohinder & Ando, and I think both of the actors do a real solid job. Especially Ando, who never gets much to do. Molly is kind of annoying but she is a kid so from me she gets a pass. I think the ensemble is strong overall, and I agree that its the writing that provides us with the characters we come back to see each with. Mama Petrelli is, to me, the weakest. She's pretty brutal.

I just had to point out, to whoever said you can count on one hand the number of times a power was used in episode 1...

Hiro stops time before the hail of arrows hits him.
Hiro teleports himself and "Kensei" away from the arrows.
Matt reads the mind of the "hostage" to pass his NYPD test.
Claire holds her hand over a bunsen burner and doesn't hurt herself (I concede that this isn't really using a superpower but a normal person couldn't do it)
Bob uses his power to turn a spoon into gold.
Matt reads Molly's mind when she's having a nightmare.
Claire regenerates after breaking her shins.
Maya's "power" kills a truckload of people.
West hovers outside Claire's window and then flies away.
Peter zaps one of the Irish guys with lightning.

Of all the characters who were featured in the episode, none of the ones with a power didn't use it at some point (except Molly. You could argue that Alejandro was using his by preventing Maya from killing the people to start with, too).

One more thing.

I think good acting is creating a character I would want to date. For every movie I have ever watched (and reviewed for classes, etc.) I grade acting performance based on if the actor created a character I would enjoy going to Starbucks or Olive Garden with for an hour.

Parkman has potential..but I'd have to wear Magneto's mind-blocking helmet first.

I honestly don't think I've laughed harder in weeks. Child actors deterring people from having kids? Becoming radioactive from listening to cheesy narration? I never realized so many people had problems with the show.

Personally I think Heroes is only a notch above Smallville. Cheesy dialogue, pretentious acting, and a "freak of the week" mindset for Peter to gain every new power created is why I became an avid watcher of the first half of the season to prioritizing it under "I Love New York."

What turned me off is that show has quickly become stale and cliche. We have the comic-book one liners, the annoying minor, the archetypal quest of knowledge and power...come on. I understand sharing similarities with the comic book is the point of the show, but we've seen this all before.

Character wise: I don't like Niki/Jessica. People share her level of super strength on PCP. I agree that her death would be great for Micha's character development.

Acting wise: Mohinder. BORING.

Bennet's the best for me--he's so well-acted, and I love his heart, and Peter and Sylar are great and well-acted characters too. Parkman rocks! Well, that's my piece. Sorry 'bout Hiro! Its bad acting across the board: Peter, Nathan, Claire, Mohinder, Ando, Hiro are all bad actors for me. They look amateurs compared to the cast of Lost.

Hate to pick on the kid, but I vote Molly as most annoying. I don't think it's necessarily that she's a bad actor, but that the wise-beyond-their years kid role tends to be inherently grating (Wesley Crusher, anyone?). The kid playing Micah pulls it off slightly better.

The acting ranges from unimpressive to sucky all across this "ensemble". Mihinder is by far the most grating (what exactly does he bring to this role?), but it's saying something when your best actor is Hiro. I mean, I love the guy, but he's more "adorable" and a "great actor".

I'd say Mohinder is my least favorite character. I roll my eyes whenever his plotline comes in. I really like Ando and Nikki/Jessica. I don't really have an opinion on Molly, but (Weiss from Alias) has never been all that interesting to me either. I can't even think of his name.

Yep I agree with nikki/jessica a no-talent put on tv for who knows what reason. Plus I'd put in a vote for Mohinder, does he have an emotion?

Most definitely Nikki/Jessica!! What exactly is her friggin power anyway. Does she have super strength that only her evil self can tap into? Or are her split personalities part of it? Either way I've never liked her on the show.

The little girl comes in a close second,she's one step above the child actors on day-time soap operas. Actually, I'll giver a some credit and say two steps, cause those kids suck. Sorry kids, again $$ = fair game.

I vote for Molly.Too precocious. they should've cast someone more childlike. I agree Mo can be annoying sometimes- esp the voice overs, but he's an essential part of the story. Ando should go. Love Hiro!
