Heroes, assorted Firely/Serenity pages, several movies like Stardust, Superbad, etc. It's a way to get updates, special offers, sneak previews, soundtrack clips, and more. And it provides links for visitors to follow if they share your interests, which is part of the point of MySpace.

I'm friends with Pete Yorn, The Shins, The Scissor Sisters, Jenna/Pam (from the Office), and How I Met Your Mother. Its a great way to keep up with what they are doing, because they'll send out a bulletin when they release a new album/episode, etc. Oh, and I'm friends with Zach Braff because I think he's cute. :)

I am not friends with any TV shows or movies, but I am friends with "entities" along the lines of humanitarian organizations and magazines, and with a few famous folk such as people from "The Office" and Edgar Wright. Being friends with a TV show or movie is a lot like being friends with a band or a famous person (dead or alive): You're friends because you like them. I try to limit (at least a little bit) my non-real-friends friends and don't mind giving props to people and projects I like.
