Today's Funnies: "I live next door to Marla Gibbs!"

Categories: Saturday Night Live, Today's Funnies

Neil Diamond (Will Ferrell) and Christina Aguilera (Kate Hudson) in a "never before aired" clip from Saturday Night Live. It's kinda all over the place, made watchable by the way Ferrell launches his non sequiturs. And we know what you're thinking: How can you have an unaired sketch from a live show?

Never Before Aired: Neil Diamond and Christina Aguilera

I forgot what a flat toned, bad actress Kate is. Miss Will though!

I kinda smiled during the song at the very end, but the rest was erratic comic wasteland....

you are welcome :)
i usually post under ericalina, but i was just so annoyed, i had to post "um..." first!

Letterdavidman Fri, Jul 20, 2007 at 01:53 PM EST

To um... (man, talk about salutations I never, for even a second, imagined myself typing),
THANK YOU for understanding my point! As Letterman used to say, "Once again, Paul, you've crystallized my thoughts eloquently."

Sandra Fri, Jul 20, 2007 at 01:13 PM EST

Wow that was horrible. Kate can't do a good Christina. Sarah Michelle Gellar was a lot better. Glad it never aired.

um... Fri, Jul 20, 2007 at 12:31 PM EST

doesn't anyone understand that LETTERDAVIDMAN's point is that because SVEN thinks Ferrell is NOT FUNNY, that explains why people think the current cast IS funny?

Jeez, was that so hard to figure out?? LETTERDAVIDMAN knows that Ferrell is not on the current cast. He thinks the current cast sucks, and that Will Ferrell is funny.

Learn to comprehend, people!

The current cast? Will Farrell hasn't been on SNL for five years.
I'm guessing it was the last sketch of the show and Will was making stuff up as he went. It wasn't a bad premise.
The only thing I remember of that show was "Inside the Actors Studio" with Kate doing a great Drew Barrymore.

Letterdavidman Fri, Jul 20, 2007 at 11:29 AM EST

Wrong again, Svenny, my boy! Dane cook is an effing travesty to the art of comedy. And Will Ferrell IS funny as hell. Anyone with even a micron of a sense of humor can see that. But I forgot, we're talking about YOU, aren't we Sven, my lad?

Jason Fri, Jul 20, 2007 at 11:12 AM EST

Too bad their media player can't go for more than 5 seconds without needing to freeze.

Ben S Fri, Jul 20, 2007 at 10:48 AM EST

"I left my dog Thor in the car, and it's a hot one!" Great sketch.

Coach's Mistress Fri, Jul 20, 2007 at 10:09 AM EST

Are you sure this was unaired? It looks very familiar (unless they've used this recording studio bit before).

Herstory Fri, Jul 20, 2007 at 09:23 AM EST

Ferrell is hilarious! I pitty those who who fail to understand his comic genius.

Sven Fri, Jul 20, 2007 at 09:15 AM EST

What in my writing suggested I find ANYTHING about the current state of SNL to be at all amusing? My point was simply that anything Will Ferrell does is not amusing. If you find Ferrell, then you probably are also a Dane Cook fan. The two usually go hand in hand.

I live next to Suzanne Malveaux!

Letterdavidman Fri, Jul 20, 2007 at 08:50 AM EST

Sven's comments pretty much explain why the current atrocious cast of SNL continue to be thought of as even the least bit "funny". Sven, my friend, thou dost need to beg, borrow, or steal an actual sense of comedic taste. Then get back to me.

aramis Fri, Jul 20, 2007 at 08:36 AM EST

That was actually pretty hilarious.

Ceballos Fri, Jul 20, 2007 at 08:27 AM EST

"I will smack you in the mouth, I'm Neil Diamond!"

Tim Lade Fri, Jul 20, 2007 at 08:14 AM EST

Uh it's probably from the rehearsal and was cut from the final show? Don't tell me you didn't learn something from Studio 60 Wook!

Sven Fri, Jul 20, 2007 at 08:13 AM EST

Kate Hudson is smokin' hot and doing a fine job, but as usual Ferrell ruins the scene. Painful...
