What should be the next great celebrity memoir?

Valerie_l Valerie Bertinelli is currently writing a memoir. It's not that I don't care what she has to say — she was candid and charming on Rachael Ray recently when I caught her sharing how she was asked to lose weight back in her Barbara Cooper days(!). It's just that I don't care enough to pay to read it. So, PopWatchers, let's give the publishing world a helping hand: What celebrity memoir or autobiography are you dying for and why? Dina Lohan sits at her word processor, awaiting your response.

Pauly Shore, no doubt about it.

frankly, I like Valerie B, it should be interesting, if she talks of her marriage to Eddie, that was 20 some odd years together! remember Eddie was/is an alcoholic, I bet there is some "juicy" behind the scenes stuff, living with a rock star husband with a drinking problem would be tough.
another good one would be Nicole Kidman! yeah! I bet life with Tom Cruise was no picnic he is such a control freak. she won't talk though.
and I could NOT care less about Brad and Angie, yawwwwwwwn..whats the secret??? im sick of them

I would love to see a Robin Williams bio. Think of the funny stories he would tell! But I would have to buy the audio to listen to him tell it. Priceless.

I would looooove to read Brad Pitt's memoirs. I'd like to find out why he really left Jennifer Aniston. Was Angelina really too good not to resist?

Okay, here's a wild one. But Jermaine Jackson. I want to hear a full version of what he was on when he and his wife decided that it would be a grand idea to name his child "Jermajisty." Just a thought.

Read "A Model Summer" by Paulina Porizkova. It's great, light, and EW even gave it an A-!!! I think it's what you're looking for.

I hope this doesn't start a war between Mariah/Madonna fans again, but I would enjoy a Mariah Carey memoir. She seems to have had an interesting time.

Wendy- Rock on with the Martin Sheen memoir. I'm there with you!

I can't think of a single celebrity of whom I would want to read a whole memoir. An article - sure. A book - eh, not so much.

Wendy Pederson Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 04:03 PM EST

Martin Sheen. Hands down, no contest. The fellow is smart, articulate, an activist, AND still attempts to help drug addicted actors get treatment. He's fascinating.

Clearly there exists one correct answer to this question....Angelina Jolie.

Salma Hayek has an interesting story and she's quite funny so I'd read her book. Also, I'd like the ladies of ABBA to write a juicy tell-all. A Linda Evangalista book about the supermodle heyday could be entertaining as well.
But on the top of my list would be a book by Chrissie Hynde of The Pretenders. She's a badass who makes no apologies so that would be fascinating.

Melissa Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 02:09 PM EST

Nicole Kidman! Agreed! Although she seems like the type who'd never spill the secrets for the sake of the kids. Argh.

GingerCat Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 01:33 PM EST

You say "next great celebrity memoir" as if there have been great ones before.

Nigel Tufnel. I'd love to hear more about his tireless work with the Ferret Foundation.

i'm looking forward to rosie's book in september. she writes all about the view. can't wait!

I was just thinking Johnny Depp too! Maybe a memoir could give us some insight into Winona Ryder's "shopping issues."

snarky Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 12:52 PM EST

Carole...good call on the Nic Kidman memoir... I would TOTALLY pay for that.

I am intrigued by Alec Baldwin, but I heard he is writing one.

I think later on, in the future, maybe Lindsay Lohan, just cus I really want to know how Fed up her parents are.

How about jack nicholson, george clooney...the stories about braods alone would be priceless!

Jill Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 12:50 PM EST

Kiefer Sutherland.

FLGrl Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 12:44 PM EST

I think memoirs are self-indulgent.

Suz Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 12:38 PM EST

Johnny Depp! I love him and I've read a lot about his life and I saw him on Inside the Actors Studio, but I just get the feeling that he'd have some interesting things to say.

Christopher Lee

Dave Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 11:45 AM EST

Oh god, I'd rather read Paris Hilton's autobiography unedited for spelling and non-sensical ramblings than read anything written by Dina Lohan. Ugh.

Sarah Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 11:36 AM EST

Carole: I second that one! Nicole is such a talented, classy woman, I bet there was some serious career envy on Tom's part when she started winning all those prestigous awards. I want to see a memoir from Sir Ian McKellan and from Orlando Bloom. He's had some interesting things happen with him: breaking his back and being paralyzed; his mother revealing that his father wasn't his biological father; all the LOTR and Pirates stories too!

carole Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 11:31 AM EST

Nicole Kidman. I'm still dying to know what happened in that marriage.
