I would like to see heartbreakers back on tbs in the near future.

d Sat, Aug 4, 2007 at 04:32 PM EST

I clarify my earlier comment re: So You Think You Can Dance and focus it on the choreography, especially that of Wade Robson. He is a true visionary.

d Sat, Aug 4, 2007 at 04:16 PM EST

1. BIG LOVE. Brilliant!! Just Brilliant!
2. So you think you can dance & Top Chef. Must List Guilty Pleasure - the kind you don't know why, but you still watch.
3. Glenn Close, Ted Danson and the "outside-the box" writers for DAMAGES. How is it possible that someone in Hollywood wrote non-Sterotypical leading characters. They both are written and played as both the good guy and the bad guy. I hope the rest of the season lives up to the first couple episodes.

plucky Sat, Aug 4, 2007 at 11:02 AM EST

I ***love*** America's Next Producer! I'm totally addicted to it and was SO happy to see Sharon get kicked off last week.

This is a video of a new dj turntable "The Controller One" that allows djs to play
records like instruments. It's the first instrument made to truly allow djs to PLAY
music. Each button on the turntable is like a key on the keyboard. This turntable
even has MIDI and can be pitch controlled with a keyboard and programmed with
a sequencer. This is really a groundbreaking instrument and is an important
advancement in the artform of djing.

Djs around the world will thank you for exposing them to this.

I've included a link to up close pictures of this turntable.

Big Brother After Dark

Snooks Thu, Aug 2, 2007 at 09:51 AM EST

Damages on FX and My Network TV
Addictive and mind bending at the same time.

Terrific acting...

andy Thu, Aug 2, 2007 at 08:26 AM EST

JOSH ROUSE 'COUNTRY MOUSE, CITY HOUSE' -with its simple-yet-profound lyrics and soothing melodies, the 7th album from this talented singer-songwriter is a sweet summer treat.

'CALL ME BY YOUR NAME' ANDRE ACIMAN -this story about an unlikely summer love is a beautifully written heartbreaker.

SPIDER-PIG FROM 'THE SIMPSON'S MOVIE' the theme song for homer's porcine pal nearly steals the movie. next stop-an oscar for best song!

Jason Thu, Aug 2, 2007 at 02:53 AM EST

BIG BROTHER AFTER DARK!

Anthony Wed, Aug 1, 2007 at 07:47 PM EST

1. Big Brother After Dark
2. Big Brother After Dark
3. Big Brother After Dark
Every night the Big Brother houseguests come alive on Showtime. Streaking, angry tirades, pillow fights? No problem.

Erica Wed, Aug 1, 2007 at 07:39 PM EST

Feasting on Asphalt with Alton Brown. The new season premieres on Saturday, but this week the reruns have reminded me why Alton is the best voice the food network has: he knows what he likes and exactly why and he explains it better than anyone.

Steve Manson Wed, Aug 1, 2007 at 02:29 PM EST

The best reason to subscribe to Sirius Satellite Radio is NO LONGER the Howard Stern Show, it's "OUTQ IN THE MORNING WITH LARRY FLICK." He is outrageous, funny, political, and he has a big heart. It's not just gay radio, it's important radio for everyone.

Pai Schector Wed, Aug 1, 2007 at 02:20 PM EST

Well Big Brother is just one wrong move after another and not even in an interesting way ... buuuuuuut the addition of Showtime to my cable package got me to the real prize -- Dexter!

Chris Wed, Aug 1, 2007 at 01:00 PM EST

TV - "State of Mind" - Lili Taylor is so cool. The opening scene dream sequences remind you of "Six Feet Under" without being derivative. And post "My So-Called Life's" Devon Gummersill is sweetly sexy.
Books "Eat Pray Love" by Elizabeth Gilbert. Short bursts of funny, moving prose that make it perfect summer reading. Also manages to be enlightening and profound.
Music -"At My Age" Nick Lowe - like a great wine, he just gets better with age

melissa Wed, Aug 1, 2007 at 12:55 PM EST

TV show: "Psych." Genuinely funny. The leads -- James Roday and Dule Hill -- are great, and the whole cast gets funnier and better the more you watch it. It's so noteworthy, I'll even offer a mediocre limerick:

When Friday comes I need a break.
You need one too? Don't hesitate!
Meet Shawn and friend Gus —
They're hilarious —
You might laugh until your sides ache.

Don't hold it against me that "hesitate" isn't an exact rhyme for "ache" and "break."

alison Groves Wed, Aug 1, 2007 at 12:54 PM EST

"Damages" - When has summer tv ever been this good? Oh that's right, never.

Corinne Wed, Aug 1, 2007 at 12:44 PM EST

Music Album: Kelly Clarkson 'My December'
Song: "Rangers" by A Fine Frenzy
Television: Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List
DVD: 'The Office' season three (I'm going crazy just waiting for it!!)

Anne Wed, Aug 1, 2007 at 11:57 AM EST

1. TV: Mad Men - Fantastic TV! I can't wait to see what other shows AMC has coming.
2. Movie: The Bourne Ultimatum - This is the movie I have been waiting for all summer and it's finally here!! Matt Damon is amazing in the role.
3. Music: "Great Escape" - Boys Like Girls - great summer song.
4. Book: "Eclipse" - Brand New Third book in the "Twilight" series - It may be YA but it is the BEST VAMPIRE LOVE STORY EVER!
5. Theater: Xanadu - the most fun that I have had at the theater in a long time!

Nancy Wed, Aug 1, 2007 at 11:14 AM EST

1. Hairspray - the movie (I second James Marsden - he's fantastic), and the soundtrack. Fun, fun, fun.
2. Harry Potter -- yes, still. Movie's still out, some people haven't finished the book yet (although I've read it twice already)
3. Ross Matthews' blog. He has such a sunny disposition - makes me want to be a better person.

Adrienne Wed, Aug 1, 2007 at 10:46 AM EST

I LOVE cracked.com. That website, and ew.com, help me get through my work day. It has blogs, videos, and all the like, but the best thing are the articles. They are hilarious!

I recommend 'Five Lessons Learned from Watching Die Hard,' and '11 Movies Saved by Historical Inaccuracy.'

greg Wed, Aug 1, 2007 at 10:45 AM EST

THE SIMPSON MOVIE - NOT. IT'S TERRIBLE. LOVE THIS PRE-REVIEW I READ ON THECHEAPPOP.COM. THAT SITE IS GREAT. I ALSO DIG AGE OF LOVE

Luix Wed, Aug 1, 2007 at 10:26 AM EST

Music: Absolute Garbage (it collects Garbage's best songs from the last 10 years and it includes a music video collection worthy of anyone's attention)

DVD: Kill Bill, Pan's Labyrinth, The Descent

TV: Strangers with Candy, Lost, Sex and the City

Aaron Wed, Aug 1, 2007 at 09:57 AM EST

the cast recording of "You Can't Stop the Beat" from the movie version of "Hairspray."

"Fur and Gold" by Bat for Lashes.

Sadie Wed, Aug 1, 2007 at 09:27 AM EST

Brotherhood 2.0 -- brothers decide to communicate through video blogs for the entirety of 2007 after realizing they texted one another too much. I started watching because of the Harry Potter song and stuck around to find out that Nerdfighters are made of AWESOME.

I'm also diving deeper into my obsession with The Office. I'm rewatching Season 2 on DVD and my heart breaks a little bit each time Jim and Pam are on screen together. I can't wait for Season 3 in DVD and then the new season!

Mike Wed, Aug 1, 2007 at 08:56 AM EST

Mario Strikers Charged--Mario and co. help kick-off the Wii's addictive online service with this charged-up soccer sequel.

sore thumbs - www.sorethumbsonline.com
fun-larious comic about pop culture, politics, video games, race and sex in america, and a tiny polar bear...

Jessica G Wed, Aug 1, 2007 at 07:24 AM EST

1. The Soup on E! - I will keep saying this show over and over until Joel McHale gets the credit he deserves.
2. www.officetally.com - all things related to The Office. It is a fantastic site.
3. jackiestvblog.blogspot.com - all of the Big Brother lowdown you can handle.

Lesley Wed, Aug 1, 2007 at 06:12 AM EST

"A Bit of Fry and Laurie- the complete collection" just came out on DVD. It's a sketch comedy show with Steven Fry and Hugh Laurie from the 80s and it's hysterical! Very Monty Pythonesque.

D Johnson Wed, Aug 1, 2007 at 03:32 AM EST

Just when you thought you could take a summer breather along comes "Mad Men" and with it all the anxiety of having to schedule your life around yet another incredible TV show.

James Wed, Aug 1, 2007 at 03:05 AM EST

The blog "39 Second Single" captures all I miss about "Sex and the City." It mines the hilarity of the search for love with the subtle undercurrent of heartbreak.

monica Wed, Aug 1, 2007 at 12:44 AM EST

movies: stardust, sunshine
dvd: the host, disturbia
tv: kill point

Crystal Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 11:40 PM EST

The Boy with No Name, the new album by Travis. The CD came out in May and the band just wrapped up a US tour. Even though it's been a while between albums, their ridiculously energetic and fun shows reminded all of their loyal fans why Travis is best live.

Joshua Gilmore Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 10:31 PM EST

There is only 2 that have importance in my mind...
1.) SModcast-Kevin Smith might not of got top of the Celeb Blog lists, but Mr.Smith has the best podcast around. Its updated every monday and I can't see a better way to start the week then with Kevin and Scott Mosier.
2.)Joblo.com- In a world where some entertainment news could be dangerous to the senses, Joblo keeps it safe from the normal and goes against the usual mainstream entertainment media..present company excluded

Naomi Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 10:17 PM EST

The Beautiful Miscellaneous, a book by Dominic Smith. I didn't want it to end! The writing is so beautiful!

Karen Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 10:14 PM EST

Justin Kirk on Weeds! So funny!

Keira Smith Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 10:05 PM EST

Confessions of a Matchmaker on A&E. That's it! Tivo it and watch it for a big boost of self-esteem when nothing else is on.

Oh, and Flight of the Conchords, but you already knew that one.

Valerie Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 09:48 PM EST

Weeds Season 2. Love the different bands covering Little Boxes. I can't wait to see the credits. Not only is the show genius but now the intro song is as well. a MUST.

Dan Neitzel Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 09:12 PM EST

1.Hairspray movie
2. Zodiac DVD
3. Weeds season 2 DVD

Stephanie Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 09:08 PM EST

The Simpsons Movie - Finding out if the 4-finger rule applies to Bart's doodle, Hilarious!

Brooke Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 08:38 PM EST

"Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows!"
Big Love

Jasper Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 08:29 PM EST

Is it just overkill to say Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows?
Okay then Scott Baio is 45 and Single.
Call Me By Your Name by Andre Aciman
Ingmar Bergman

Daniel Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 07:16 PM EST

-- The Simpsons Season 10 on DVD - the show started to go downhill shortly after, but this season still had plenty of golden moments.
-- DarkUFO - the best LOST fansite on the web.
-- Irredeemable Ant-Man - Dirtbag Eric O'Grady is the star of this sadly short lived Kirkman comic (it ends next month), who steals the Ant-Man suit and then acts like a complete ***, doing unspeakable acts (one involving a hot-and-heavy makeout session with his late friend's girlfriend -- on said friend's GRAVE. Yuck.).

mel Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 07:05 PM EST

Tegan and Sara - The Con

Threadless.com

Kathryn Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 06:34 PM EST

-Books: 'House' star Hugh Laurie's THE GUN SELLER. Excellent, hilarious, spy-genre novel. Laurie's dry wit shines through along with his storytelling.

-TV: GHOST HUNTERS: It's television crack. Sometimes they find nothing, but when they do it's always spine-tinglingly good.

-Movies: THE 40-YEAR-OLD VIRIGIN. I know it came out a few summers ago but it's still as funny as when I saw it for the first time. It never ceases to bring tears to my eyes. Steve Carell is hysterical, but don't forget about Seth Rogen("Knocked Up") who steals so many scenes.

Edward Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 06:04 PM EST

1. Eureka - showing far more charm and humor than a lot of the summer series, esp the reality shows, which are pretty much clones of one another
2. Pet Shop Boys - Cubism concert DVD out now on Rhino - a great concert, shot in Mexico City, during their tour last fall.
3. Not really under the radar, but any of the trailer sneaks from Comic Con (e.g. the new Indy)

Andy Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 05:44 PM EST

The credits to The Simpsons Movie. Not only does it give credit to each and every character for the same small cast twice, it includes pictures of each actor's characters. All that, and it contains more hilarious jokes that make the best movie of the summer even better.

Ary Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 05:41 PM EST

Twilight, by Stephenie Meyers:
The series you have all been ignoring because it's been branded YA, yet poised to become the "new" Harry Potter-type phenom. Even if you forget the hype, this series still rocks a**!!

Chad Concelmo Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 05:29 PM EST

Web site: Destructoid.com.
Funny, informative blog about videogames. Check it out. :)

Dave Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 05:26 PM EST

1. Version, Mark Ronson. His music "is smooth '60s-and '70s-era soul merged with contemporary pop" and overall a great summer party starter. Not to mention featuring the two hottest lady Brits on the music scene Winehouse and Lily.
2. bestweekever.tv. a hilarious daily dose of viral videos and snarky tv commentary.
3. TMZ.com, the number #1 source for gossip on the web. If it was featured on Entourage, it must be cutting edge!

CineRam Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 05:25 PM EST

It's just about as far from reality as "reality TV" gets, and that's partly why "Who Wants to Be a Superhero?" is the funniest show on right now. (no, not RIGHT now)

Josh Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 04:59 PM EST

1. (web) Forget JJ's giant monster movie, the best viral marketing campaign is for next summer's "The Dark Knight." The Joker has different websites including the awesome whysoserious.com that launched during Comicon that lead us, his pawns, to discover the truth (or are they hoaxes) behind his nefarious schemes. All us bat-fans know now is that we can all expect to see him in December.

Rose Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 04:46 PM EST

Kevin Dillon. Johnny Drama is the reason to watch Entourage. All I have to say is pink bunny suit! Oh and he got an Emmy nomination to boot.

Meg Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 04:25 PM EST

Great read - 'First Among Sequels' the new Thursday Next book by Jasper Fforde. The world has a 'stupidity surplus', 'reality' books, airships, dodos, secret SpecOps missions, the list goes on. (Oh yeah, and Harry Potter almost has a cameo.)

Kaiulani Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 04:03 PM EST

My Boys is BACK!

Louise Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 03:57 PM EST

I'm loving the absence of good television (other than Big Love). It is allowing me to actually read books this Summer. After plowing through the Deathly Hallows at record speed, I'm now enjoying "The Thirteenth Tale", a gothic literary mystery.

Kari Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 03:56 PM EST

1. David Tennant. He's stepped into the formidable 10th Doctor's shoes and made a complex character that is both engaging and thoughtful, not easy for a sci-fi character. Never mind that he's hot.

2. Mandy Moore. Yeah I know, I thought she was just bubble gum too but she's made some of THE most interesting career choices (Dedication anyone?). She's a welcome relief to the Britney's and Lindsay's of the world.

3. Icky Thump by the White Stripes. In a word it's "satisfying". The visceral sound is like the rock of the '70's propelling you down the highway and feeling quite pleased with yourself for snagging this album.

Geoff Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 03:43 PM EST

The World War Hulk mini-series from Marvel Comics - it kicks ass!!!!

Heather Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 03:42 PM EST

-50 Cent, Justin Timberlake and Timbaland. 'She Wants It': Justin and Timbaland could make a hit for Liza Minnelli.
-'Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations' Irreverent and self effacing. Bourdain travels like you wish you could.
-'Harry Potter'. Yesterday, today and tomorrow. An classic with teeth that I will pass down to my children.

Sarah Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 03:39 PM EST

Dlisted.com--A celebrity blog with way funnier commentary than little white scribbles favored by other sites, including "Hot Slut of the Day" and "What the Hell Kind of GD Outfit is That?"

Buy Me--It's on the Home Garden channel but it's addicting and hilarious watching people overprice their homes and then act baffled when they don't sell.

Michael Cera--When Superbad comes out, he will be the new "it" boy...but he will always be George Michael to me

Tygor1 Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 03:36 PM EST

1 - (DVD) 300 - We are SPARTANS!!!
2 - (Comics) - The New Avengers - A conspiracy has started brewing, and by the end of this year, all HECKS gonna break loose!
3 - (TV) Shark Week on Discovery - Always reminds me why I NEVER dip my foot in the ocean ever again, especially when a reporter was attacked by a tiger shark on live TV! Ahhh, get away!

Sarah Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 03:31 PM EST

Mad Men on AMC. Brilliant writing, brilliant cast, and the one thing that made me wish I were a woman in the '60s because some of the sexual harassment-happy men... pretty freaking hot.

helen Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 03:03 PM EST

Scott Baio is 45 and single. One of the best uses of "celebreality" EVER! Who knew our childhood crush could be so shallow and complex in the same moment? And why isn't he working more? Where's Tarentino? I demand a comeback script pronto!

James Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 03:01 PM EST

MOVIES- My must villainess on screen is Michelle Pfeiffer. She rocked Hairspray with her campy, vampy performanc and is sure to do the same in Stardust.

Mike Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 02:56 PM EST

TV: Big Brother After Dark-completely addicting, even if it is on at midnight (that's what DVR is for!)

Steph Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 02:54 PM EST

The Cat Empire - I heard this amazing band for the first time last week in Copley Square. The Australian group is a mix of big band, latin, reggae, hip hop, blues and rock... so rad! The music makes you want to dance! Maybe I'm behind the times... but I'm sold after my first listen! Their new album So Many Nights will be available in September. Until then, check out Two Shoes and other previous releases.

Brandon Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 02:54 PM EST

1. Hot Fuzz on DVD. This is seriously the ,ost satisfying movie I have seen in a while because of the brilliant blend of action and comedy.
2. The Superbad Trailer. I mean, it costars George Michael Bluth for crying out loud. Here's to hoping the hilarity of the trailer matches up with the movie.

Rese Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 02:50 PM EST

*I think this was already a Must List Item... but
-Flight of the Conchords, the David Bowie themed episode was probably one of the funniest things I have ever seen on TV.
-My Boys is back and I love it. So cute and endearing...Jim Gaffigan is freakin hilarious
-Freaks & Geeks on DVD. My roommate made me put it in my Netflix queue and man was I glad she did. The show was awesome. You love Judd Apatow movies you will love this TV show.

Todd Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 02:45 PM EST

The Simpsons Movie - Good enough to watch again and it gives new meaning to the word EEPA!
Jim Gaffigan on My Boys (TBS) - The commedy genius that taught us all how to say "Hot Pockets" brings life and laughter to this show. Best Line of the new season (when he sees what his friend offers for him to sleep on), "What am I a heroin addict? I'm not sleeping in a chair."
And last but not least, The Godfather Saga showing on AMC and Bravo almost every weekend. Most guys will flip through the channels until they hit the scene where Sonny beats up Carlo in the streets or Michael grabs Fredo and says, "I knew it was you, Fredo. You broke my heart!" Until the NFL starts, I gaurantee every man in America will check these movies out on TV during the weekends.

denny Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 02:40 PM EST

L'Avventura (Criterion Collection) on DVD. What better way to pay homage to one of the greatest filmmakers of all time than to rewatch his masterpiece and all the magnificent extras that are practically standard on all Criterion titles. Come to think of it, why can't Criterion itself be on the Must List? Forget about university, THAT'S film school.

Kati Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 02:40 PM EST

Website:

Spencer Brown, who made it to the semi-finals of Last Comic Standing, is fairly big in the UK, and "Why I Am Cool," his video on YouTube, is hilarious

Movie: Sunshine, Danny Boyle's flawed space opera/slasher flick is gorgeous and engrossing

Nana Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 02:38 PM EST

Music: Avril Lavigne- Under My Skin
Movies: Pirates of the Carribean, Order of the Phoenix
Shows: Grey's Anatomy, Lost, MTV's Next
Books: Harry Potter <3 <3

Chris Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 02:28 PM EST

Marchbox 20's new single, "How Far We've Come," is a terrific return to alternative rock greatness from one of the best bands of recent years.

Or Danny Boyle's new film, "Sunshine" which one of the few original, interesting films to be released this summer.

Gabrielle Young-Glatz Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 02:19 PM EST

Friday Night Lights on NBC.com - because for some reason they are no longer showing it on "real" TV.

The Nine back on ABC, Wednesday nights - At least we get to have some kind of closure after this show was unceremoniously yanked mid-season (giving us yet another reason to not get too attached to serialized network dramas).

Kevin Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 02:15 PM EST

Nintendo DS. Remember when gaming was fun? Nintendo sure does. As fun as the Wii is, the DS wins the Must List spot because it is just now getting into full swing. With new games like Elite Beat Agents, Sim City, Theme Park, Touchmaster, New York Times Crosswords, and the up-coming Brain Age 2, the DS is entering it's golden years.

Also, on TV, The Soup. All hail Joel McHale!!!

Emily Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 02:08 PM EST

www.postsecret.blogspot.com - an interesting take on getting something off your chest

Kent Bailey Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 02:05 PM EST

Damage - Glenn Close proves why she is the best working actress today

The Simpsons Movie - Funniest. Movie. Ever.

Rosie O'donnell's blog - it's as addicted as crack

Jarett Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 01:55 PM EST

Tambourine by Eve.
The ultimate summer jam! Has the perfect combo of killer beats and funky lyrics. Luckily this overlooked song got a major boost thanks to So You Think You Can Dance

Michaela Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 01:51 PM EST

@ Laurie: Circus Boobs!
Dedication, the new book by the Nanny Diaries authors

Mindi Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 01:50 PM EST

The Con - the new Tegan and Sara album.

Anne Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 01:49 PM EST

1. Soundtrack for "Once": Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova are sublime!
2. "Eclipse" by Stephenie Meyer comes out August 7th. Only Meyer's books can help fill the Harry Potter void...
3. I've been devouring Pamela Aidan's "Fitzwilliam Darcy, Gentleman" trilogy for the last week!

Homer Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 01:48 PM EST

Beer- The cause and solution to all of life's problems.

Rahul Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 01:44 PM EST

'The Simpsons Movie' - Thank god it didn't disappoint after a summer of craptacular sequels.
'Big Love' - The show gets better with every episode. I can't think of a better recommendation than that.

oren Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 01:37 PM EST

QuestforKeith.Blogspot.com is the most hilarious website on the net... I also dig Entourage still!

Annie Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 01:36 PM EST

HGTV's Design Star! I wasn't even planning to watch, but I saw the first episode last night, and I am now officially hooked.

Emily Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 01:36 PM EST

"My Boys: on TBS. It's the perfect combination of "Sex in the City", "Entourage", and "Friends" but with, you know, normal people.

Nikilynn Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 01:33 PM EST

1) My Boys - great show with a tomboy I can totally relate too
2) OneRepublic - thier song Apologize is just awesome and is great remixed on Timbaland's album and they will be on SYTYCD this week which is always helpful in adding more fans
3) www.the-leaky-cauldon.org - because now like everyone else I have finished DH I need to relive and JK Rowling had a awesome web chat on there yesterday that has been my favorite tell all yet.

Erin Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 01:33 PM EST

I love watching Shark Week. it is fascinating. Also, JK Rowling's post Deathly Hallows interviews. She finally gets to let go and show how much she has in her head. I am glad to know that Harry became an auror!

joe Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 01:28 PM EST

thecheappop.com is a cool site

Ellie Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 01:26 PM EST

"My Boys" on TBS. It's the funniest, sweetest show on TV. Jordana Spiro rocks and Jim Gaffigan cracks me up. I love all the boys and wish I could be part of the gang.

mike Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 01:26 PM EST

Reruns of my three of my three favorite low-rated comedies 30 Rock, The Office and especially How I Met Your mother. Watch the reruns this summer. Fall in love with these shows and tell others about them. Or else yet another stupid massive reality hit show will come along. This could be the last gasp of scripted comedies on network TV.

Music - "The Salmon Dance" from the new Chemical Brothers album. What a weird and catchy tune, and full of fun facts about salmon.
TV - Can't get enough of the hilarious Flight of the Conchords boys. You can watch just the songs on YouTube.
Books - Jon Krakauer's Into the Wild is fascinating. The upcoming movie looks great, too.

Laura S Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 01:22 PM EST

Eclipse by Stephanie Meyer. It's the third book in her yOung adult vampire series and it's released this Tuesday. She's a huge hit with teens and is gaining adult fans with each book.

Garrett Hedlund - he plays the villain in the new Kevin Bacon movie, Death Sentence, which comes out at the end of August. Complete transformation from his previous roles in Four Brothers, Friday Night Lights and Eragon. It's only a matter of time before he becomes a big star.

Allison Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 01:18 PM EST

oooo I love Brotherhood 2.0. Go nerdfighters!

alison Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 01:14 PM EST

thecheappop.com is one of the most reliable pop culture websites around - it's funny and they are obsessed with mustaches

Joey Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 01:09 PM EST

I've submitted this before, but I'll do it again because this time it is actually timely (gasp!). "We Need Girlfriends, the best damn webseries on the Internet, finally debuts its tenth show on August 1. For us fans, the first day of the month is the best; we get to find out what's happened to the quirky threesome since the last first of the month...or something like that.

Jon Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 01:03 PM EST

**E!'s "The Soup". Consistently, one of the funniest shows on TV. It makes me laugh out loud at least 5 times an episode.

**"Fellowship of the Dice." It's a hysterically funny, improvised mockumentary about people who play role playing games, like "Dungeons & Dragons". It's out on DVD. The website is http://www.fellowshipofthedice.com, and the YouTube Trailer is here: http://youtube.com/watch?v=VDWoxu2EAmo

** Mark Ronson's cover of the Smith's "Stop Me." Excellent version of an excellent song.

Laurie Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 01:03 PM EST

Rock of Love. Don't threaten me with a good time. How can a show this bad feel so good? Also added to the repertoire of phrases - clown boobs.

Jane Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 01:03 PM EST

"My Boys" on TBS - very funny show with a great cast - a true hidden gem!

Heather Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 01:01 PM EST

Shameless on Sundance Channel - James McAvoy and co-stars are very entertaining in this twisted and funny British show.

Hot Fuzz on DVD - Simon Pegg and Nick Frost could teach other buddy cops a thing or two

joe Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 12:57 PM EST

Cold War Kids
Weeds Season 1 and 2
Wii

Brittany Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 12:49 PM EST

Weeds Season 2 on DVD, even funnier than the first and filled with even more internal conflict regarding her son Silas and pushing him to stay on the straight and narrow while Nancy is outside of it.

Who wants to be a superhero?
The cheesiest, tounge in cheek reality show...while watching it several times I have to remind myself that it is real....yet for some reason I can not stop watching....very funny

Courtney Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 12:46 PM EST

The song Accio Deathly Hallows on YouTube and on Brotherhood 2.0 (website created by John Green author of Looking for Alaska and his brother Hank). They decided that for one year straight they would communicate via video blog only.

It's Hank singing the song and it is absolutely hilarious! http://www.youtube.com/user/vlogbrothers

Dawn Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 12:28 PM EST

And I COMPLETELY second Ceballos's Must List addition of The Bronx is Burning on ESPN. Fantastic acting, classic sports footage, a truly compelling plotline, and totally groovy clothing and hairstyles.

Joslyn Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 12:26 PM EST

1.) Mika - I know I'm behind the curve, but after the performance on SYTYCD last week, I grabbed a couple of tracks and have them on repeat.
2.) Looking forward to The State FINALLY being released on DVD
3.) Sunrise Earth on Discovery HD. Shark Week scares me too much - this is so soothing and mellow; it's a perfect way to start the morning.

Anna Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 12:22 PM EST

I've discovered the Closer this summer and i cannot get enough of it! Plus My Boys on TBS is great, but it's a little cotton candy for the Must List

Laurie Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 12:22 PM EST

At least the Emmy voters got something right with Kevin Dillon’s supporting actor nomination. Way to show Johnny Drama some love!

Amanda Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 12:22 PM EST

James Marsden in Hairspray. With all the talent he shows in such a small role, it's a wonder he's still not a major star.

Hanson's new album The Walk.

Dawn Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 12:21 PM EST

WEQX 102.7 FM: If you're absolutely sick to death of Rihanna's Umbrella-ella-ella or Sean Kingston's suicide note playing on every radio station every two seconds, check out fresh music like Fiction Plane's Two Sisters or The White Stripe's Icky Thump on this awesome alternative frequency.

Amanda Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 12:18 PM EST

Nicole Atkins. She has been compared to Amy Winehouse and called the female Rufus Wainwright, but I prefer her self-assessment that she wants to sound like "a girl group in a David Lynch movie." Gorgeous voice, instantly memorable music. Check her out here: http://www.myspace.com/nicoleatkins, buy her EP on iTunes, and anxiously await the release of her studio album!

step Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 12:18 PM EST

1. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix in IMAX. Good movie by itself, but with the last 25 minutes in 3D, it's nothing short of stunning.
2. Hot Fuzz on DVD. Quite possibly the best buddy cop movie ever made.
3. SHARK WEEK! on the Discovery Channel. To quote 30 Rock, 'Live every week like it's Shark Week.' Truer words have never been spoken.

Dave Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 12:17 PM EST

The new Trapped in the Closet teaser just posted on this site. I can't wait for more R. Kelly shenanigans. Rhyming Bridget with midget? Brilliant. As the man says, "Oh sh*t."

Valerie Clavelle Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 12:01 PM EST

Definitely the season finale for Hell's Kitchen !

Matthew Cruz Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 12:01 PM EST

-John Travolta in "Hairspray: The actor's spot-on approach to the loveable and hefty Edna breathes life from within a fat suit and into a true character. And that's _before_ Edna dances.

-Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Harry is safe and Voldemort has been vanquished. Book Seven ends and a classic series is born. Don't worry, though. We'll always have Hogwarts.

-The Simpson's Movie: Searing social and political satire? Check. Quick and always-hilarious pop culture references? Check. D'oh? Check and check.

idigress Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 12:00 PM EST

TV Show - My Boys! So happy that this show is back on TBS!

Dan Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 11:54 AM EST

1) Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - An obvious choice, but I spend 2 late nights finishing the book.
2) Top Chef - A well done reality show with some interesting contestants and good creative food competitions
3) Pysch - A really funny, light crime solving show. I started watching after Monk, but now (as Monk seems stale), I find myself caring much more about this show. It defitely worth checking out for the "Psych"ic Detective, his partner and the supporting cast.

sosuperduper Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 11:53 AM EST

My Must List item is my new indy comic I created called "So Super Duper!" It's a cute take on superhero comics, staring a not so super superhero named Psyche who doesn't quite know who he is yet, even though everyone else around him knows that he is totally gay! Check out my first issue here:

Grant Landry Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 11:49 AM EST

Music - Sara Bareilles' debut album, Little Voice. Never have I listened to a debut album with more heart, soul, and promise for the future than this one. Its simply AMAZING. and EW has yet to jump on the Sara train... check it out!
Books/Movies - Audrey Niffenegger's The Time Traveler's Wife. Sure it came out a few years ago, but re-reading this book reminded me both how awesome and powerful it is, and made me think how in the world they are going to adapt it into a movie. But with Rachel McAdams and Eric Bana, it has to work out in the end...
TV - Weeds returns to showtime soon. Nuff said.

Auriana Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 11:47 AM EST

1. Odin Sphere and GrimGrimorie for the PS2- Proving that current gen consoles are far from dead.
2. Vision of Escaflowne - Still the greatest anime. Great story, beautiful animation, amazing soundtrack...I'm rewatching my collection and loving it even more the 5th,6th, 7th time around. Watch it subbed though, English dubbing is bloody awful.
3. Re-reading Deathly Hallows - since I read through it at the speed of light to find out how it ends, now its time to reread at a slower pace to take it all in.

Lena Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 11:40 AM EST

In a world without another new Harry Potter book, I was bumming this past weekend about the lack of anything good to read until I picked up "Sammy's House," the sequel to Kristin Gore's equally laugh-out-loud debut novel, "Sammy's Hill." I flew through it, laughing so hard I cried in several places. Somewhere in literary land, Sammy Joyce is just as upset as I am that Steve Martin is no longer on the market!

Jen Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 11:37 AM EST

British soap operas on DVD--Mile High, Footballers Wives, Manchild, Bad Girls. Great summer fun!

CeeCee Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 11:37 AM EST

Website: www.tvgasm.com -- their screenscaps from tv shows make me laugh outloud
TV Shows: Top Chef -- I'm addicted to Bravo reality shows!

Ann Marie Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 11:33 AM EST

Teddy Thompson-Up Front and Down Low. As summer slows down and heats up (who doesn't love August), all you need is a good bit of shade, a frosty beer, and Thompson's sweet tenor singing some good ole country classics to take the edge off. You won't even feel the bug bites. It's for everyone, even the folks who insist that they despise country music.

Christa Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 11:30 AM EST

Feasting on Asphalt on Food Network. I'm re-watching all the old episodes to get ready for the new season that's starting soon.

Julie Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 11:28 AM EST

Weeds season two, on dvd.

Andy Signore Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 11:27 AM EST

I'm loving "Four Finger Music - The Bluegrass Salute to music from The Simpsons"

Its great to hear my favorite tracks from the Simpsons in the style of blue grass - on iTunes or here -

Yeah Yeah Yeahs new EP Isis stands a perfect, short example of what makes the NYC trio such a pleasure. Thrilling and enchanting.

Okay, maybe a third thing: Blow-Up.

ana-maria Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 11:17 AM EST

Only two things: L'Avventura and Persona. There is nothing else this week.

Neffs Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 11:17 AM EST

We're curing the Harry Potter separation anxiety by going back and checking out the audiobooks. Relive it now like it's 1997 (?) all over again.

Melissa Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 11:16 AM EST

I was just about to cancel my HBO subscription in an effort to save money when I saw the first episode of Flight of the Conchords. So much for saving that $22 a month. Maybe I'll just stop eating lunch once a week.

Dave Quinn Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 11:10 AM EST

I'd also like to give some serious love to "Rock of Love." I'm sorry, but that's one train wreck I just can't stop watching. Bravo to Brett Michaels for having a sense of humor about it all ("I'm looking to settle down, but I'm also looking to have fun, and I can't stop looking at her boobs"), and for being the only honest person on a reality show I've ever seen ("Tiffany deserved another chance, so I kept her around. Plus, she makes good TV).

Dave Quinn Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 11:08 AM EST

Something strange has happened to me this summer: I’ve been watching “Last Comic Standing” and laughing each week. That hasn’t happened in a long time! The top 10 contestants are actually funny! Here’s hoping they keep the laughs coming (and that none of them end up hosting “Celebrity Fit Club” in the end…)

Cory Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 11:06 AM EST

Rhino's new Deluxe Edition reissues of The Monkees' 3rd and 4th albums: "Headquarters" and "Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn & Jones Ltd."

Ceballos Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 11:03 AM EST

The Bronx is Burning on ESPN: John Turturro, Oliver Platt and Daniel Sanjata are all terrific in this series about the summer of 1977 in New York. You don't have to be a sports freak (like me) to be compelled.

Greg Morrison Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 11:02 AM EST

Bill Paxton on Big Love -- Fuhgeddabout Tony Soprano; Bill Henrickson is HBO's - and television's - new family man. As the force of his will makes his way in the world, Paxton's strong presence is the tie that binds.

Rufus Wainwright -- Whether invoking Judy Garland on stage, working on his opera for the Met, contributing to soundtracks like Meet The Robinsons, or promoting his bold new album, "Release the Stars," this vastly talented musician continues to develop his creative powers.

Ratatouille -- They specialize in bringing the worlds at our feet (toys, bugs, monsters under the bed, fish in the sea) to dazzling life before our eyes. The Pixar Magic (TM) enthralls us yet again as the rodents get their close-up in this heart-warming tail.

Katie Kruger Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 10:57 AM EST

Josh Ritter's "The Temptation of Adam." A beautiful Cold War tune where falling in love is easier than falling in love with the bomb.

donner Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 10:56 AM EST

DVD- Extras from Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant...another brilliant show from this duo...

Movies - Transformers...action packed and funny too!

Websites - DListed...snarky, just this side of mean, great 'caption this picture' contests each day...

Ep Sato Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 10:19 AM EST

Stephen Graham in "This is England"- Stephen puts in a menacing performance in this retro-80's British movie about a youth who comes of age in an era of Ska revival, skinheads and the Falklands War.

kats Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 10:19 AM EST

Music: Rihanna ~ "Breakin' Dishes", "Don't Stop the Music" and "Winning Women" with Nicole Scherzinger from PCD.

TV: Still obsessed with SYTYCD. The women are phenomenal and it's a complete toss up as to who will be cut next. Also, The Closer. Is Brenda pregnant?!?

Books: Harry Potter. What am I supposed to do now???
