Wanted: Your Non-Chachi Questions for Scott Baio

Jul 20, 2007, 10:55 AM | by Mandi Bierly

Categories: Reality TV

Scottb_l I'll be sitting down with the polarizing star of VH1's Scott Baio Is 45... and Single himself on Monday. Have a question you'd like answered? Post it below. I promise he'll hear the best of the best... sometime after he explains why I should like his 45... and Single wingman, Johnny V., and before he tells me we can't call Henry Winkler.

what is the symbolism or meaning behind the necklaces you wear all the time?

Kona Crooner Mon, Jul 23, 2007 at 06:04 PM EST

Johnny V makes the show. Woever thinks reality shows are reality... don't know from reality. I would be bored to tears watching a Scott Baio figure his life out, but not with Johnny V tempting Scott to stray. There is a reason why the show is #1 today... not because it is new, but because it is entertaining. Johnny V should have his own show.

Looey Mon, Jul 23, 2007 at 01:42 PM EST

Scott,
Your thought process must have been something like "I hate being recognized as a celebrity. Oh. Wait. I think I'll do a reality show so I can tell everyone how much I hate it." True or False?

Amy Werner Mon, Jul 23, 2007 at 11:53 AM EST

I would be more apt to watch his new show if he discussed what went wrong in his relationship with Willie Ames. Will Willie be on the show?!?

LP Sun, Jul 22, 2007 at 08:46 AM EST

This show is the ultimate guilty pleasure and for once I don't feel like I'm watching a celebrity trainwreck. What show(s) do you consider your guilty pleasure?

Me Sun, Jul 22, 2007 at 07:27 AM EST

I used to love VH1 when it was about music and not this kind of crap. Why did you succumb to the plague that is reality TV, Mr. Baio?

Jason Sat, Jul 21, 2007 at 04:48 PM EST

Why was he only on 34 episodes of Diagnosis Murder? did he jump or was he pushed?

Bubbles Sat, Jul 21, 2007 at 04:33 PM EST

You've worked with numerous icons in the industry, at a time before, during or after they became icons -- Henry Winkler, Dick Van Dyke, Ron Howard, Jodi Foster. (You can be considered something of an icon yourself.) What have you learned most from all of them?

evie Sat, Jul 21, 2007 at 01:35 AM EST

and for those of you who miss music videos, check out The Tube Music Network. Not sure if everyone gets it, it's something like channel 185 on my cable so you may have to search for it, but it's everything a music video channel should be! Videos old and new, live performances, a couple of commercials every 20 minutes or so...and nothing else!

evie Sat, Jul 21, 2007 at 01:32 AM EST

I would ask him: I love that the show showed the scene where your agent tells you that that maybe it would be a bad idea to do a reality show! So many stars with reality shows seem to be playing it up for the camera, but you come off as pretty honest about yourself and your life. What was your motivation to do the show, and is it hard to act like yourself when all those cameras are on you?

Cassie Fri, Jul 20, 2007 at 05:44 PM EST

Scott, whose idea was it for you to replace Henry Winkler as the Bluth family lawyer on "Arrested Development" and what was it like working on the show? I just have to add that you're brilliant as Bob Loblaw and it would have been nice to see some of that law blog.

Phil Fri, Jul 20, 2007 at 05:27 PM EST

Scott did you agree to a Vh1 celeb-reality show since your ol' BUDDY, Willie Ames agreed to appear on Celebrity Fit Club a few seasons back? And more interestingly, what's currently on your iPod?

Fred Fri, Jul 20, 2007 at 05:26 PM EST

Kirk - try "regrettable"
Nick - I thought Kirk Cameron was Bibleman.

I would ask him about Josie Davis, his beanpole from Charles in Charge who grew up to be a hottie.

Mike Fri, Jul 20, 2007 at 02:43 PM EST

I find Scott Baio to be very calming and soothing...I think it's mostly the way he talks. Would he consider creating audio self help books??

Kirk.J.N Fri, Jul 20, 2007 at 02:36 PM EST

Sorry - unregretible isn't a word. Could you ask him what's the worst thing he did out of anger.

Kirk.J.N Fri, Jul 20, 2007 at 02:33 PM EST

Judging from the tone of the first episode, anger seems to be cited as one of his issues. Ask him, what was the worst, unregretible thing he did out of anger.

Nick Fri, Jul 20, 2007 at 02:03 PM EST

Dear SB...

You and Willie Aames were the closest of friends, having worked together on _Zapped!_ and _Charles in Charge_. Recently, WA had turned a corner in his own life, and became a born-again Christian. (He's mostly known in evangelical circles as "Bibleman", a kiddie-superhero for evangelical Christians).

Do you have any thoughts about the path you have taken in reference to his? Do you still have a friendship with Willie Aames today, and do you see this show as, perhaps, a stepping stone towards repentance and healing... in much the same way Aames has with the past?

Ed "Chachi" McGee Fri, Jul 20, 2007 at 01:54 PM EST

Will there be another Zapped movie (please say yes – so many unanswered questions from the second one), and did you get to use your powers outside of the set during shooting?

andrew Fri, Jul 20, 2007 at 01:51 PM EST

Can you do a sort of remake of “Bugsy Malone” with this caveat – as an all 40 year old cast you now will play ex-actors living in a Hollywood retirement home – spending each day talking about the good old days of your sitcom television fame and b-movie stardom and when you didn’t need a diaper change in the late-afternoon?

Also, will you be writing a tell-all book about the cast of Happy Days? I heard they were just a clutch of shocking deviants.

Justin Fri, Jul 20, 2007 at 01:35 PM EST

How about some information about the life coach on the series. How did the idea for a life coach come about, and why was she chosen?

lisa Fri, Jul 20, 2007 at 01:05 PM EST

What is the deal with this Johnny guy? He's a hanger on, slopping up leftovers from Scott without Scott he would definately be ALONE! Give him the boot!!!

Poli B Fri, Jul 20, 2007 at 12:36 PM EST

Is he still afraid to fly?

Donna Fri, Jul 20, 2007 at 12:19 PM EST

why did you allow your friend to hurt erin's feelings? and why don't you follow henry winkler's other advice...he was fonzie and he had to let go and accept his fame?

TigMode Fri, Jul 20, 2007 at 12:15 PM EST

Is it that people who are stuck in the Happy Days past annoy you, or reaction to you as a celebrity in general. Do you mind when people come up and day "Hi, loved Diagnosis Murder"?

EP Sato Fri, Jul 20, 2007 at 12:10 PM EST

Scott, I gotta know. Is Jennifer Runyon a good kisser? She was my first childhood crush and it always jazzed me that she played your girlfriend in "Charles in Charge".

Also, when was the last time you kicked it with Willie Aames? You two made a great comedy pair, like Jack Lemon and Walter Mathau or Richard Pryor and Gene Wilder. Any chance we'll see you two pair up for one last romp?

paige Fri, Jul 20, 2007 at 12:09 PM EST

bob loblaw will kick chachi's ass anyday!!! Bob Loblaw for president! "You don't want double talk; you want Bob Loblaw"

Ceballos Fri, Jul 20, 2007 at 12:08 PM EST

Well, i'm definitely with you on the death of music on VH1, JoeC...that's where I use to flee when MTV first decided they'd stop playing music.

I catch (the same 10 or 12) videos when i'm getting ready for work in the morning (7-8 a.m.), because that's pretty much the only time they're on.

Laura Fri, Jul 20, 2007 at 12:01 PM EST

Have you thought of leaving LA to try and work this part of your life out? Like New York City? Celebrities seem to live their lives there with a lot less inanity than LA. If you are doing this show with sincerity (which I hope is the case because I really like it so far - you're pretty funny and strangely endearing) then I think you should get the hell out of La-La-Land.

kj Fri, Jul 20, 2007 at 11:37 AM EST

i am with you on the johnny v hate...i would love to know what his girlfriend thinks of him!
also, does johnny v ALWAYS call him by his full name??

mark in nyc Fri, Jul 20, 2007 at 11:30 AM EST

1) When will we see you in a sequal to Zapped?
2) Will there be a follow up album to Baio!

kath Fri, Jul 20, 2007 at 11:19 AM EST

I noticed on a YouTube clip that Scott was at Ronald Reagan's funeral. How did that come about?

wraith808 Fri, Jul 20, 2007 at 11:15 AM EST

Which one is more important to you in doing this project: making a change for yourself, making a change for your girl, or getting exposure (and a paycheck) for yourself?

Joe C Fri, Jul 20, 2007 at 11:10 AM EST

Hee hee! This is your 'pretentious and condescending snob' Ceballos! I suppose I deserved that comment; it's just that VH1 used to be my fave station, but now whenever I turn it on, Scott Baio or Flavor Flav or Brett Michaels are on; where's the MUSIC! But hey, I'm in the minority, clearly. I still won't watch the show, but I SUPPOSE I'd wanna know if Henry Winkler was close to as cool as the Fonzie character back in the day?

Catherine Fri, Jul 20, 2007 at 11:07 AM EST

Why can't I get the theme song from "Charles in Charge" out of my brain?

Alexa Fri, Jul 20, 2007 at 11:03 AM EST

Why did you think doing this reality TV show would ultimately benefit your career?

Greg Fri, Jul 20, 2007 at 10:55 AM EST

Who'd win in a fight: Chachi or Bob Loblaw?

Ceballos Fri, Jul 20, 2007 at 10:52 AM EST

Also, I know we're probably only supposed to ask one question, but what do you think of seemingly pretentious and condescending snobs that make sweeping generalizations about certain genres and the audience (who can't ALL possibly be mental deficients) that enjoys that particular genre.

Ceballos Fri, Jul 20, 2007 at 10:48 AM EST

Honestly Scott...how much of you taking part of in this show has to do with really finding out why you can't commit and how much of it has to do with give your acting career a jolt?

GingerCat Fri, Jul 20, 2007 at 10:46 AM EST

My question is: Why do you date Playmates over and over again and never wonder why you get tired of the relationships? Have you ever heard of the phrase, "Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results is one definition of insanity"?

Meg Fri, Jul 20, 2007 at 10:42 AM EST

Did you really flip out at a coffee shop when a worker asked to shake your hand?

Joe C Fri, Jul 20, 2007 at 10:33 AM EST

Given that reality TV is for the brain-dead, and that all of the shows suck, how bad is yours compared to the dreck that comes on and after yours? Now THERE'S a question I'd love to hear you ask him. I might even tune in for a second to hear him answer it.
