Help with The Must List…or a baby pony will be sad!

Jul 11, 2007, 06:54 PM | by Michael Slezak

Categories: Must List

Mustpony_l For two weeks running, we've asked you -- the extremely fetching (and, it goes without saying, whip smart) readers of PopWatch -- to help us build the Must List, the regular roundup of pop-culture delights that runs each week in the pages of Entertainment Weekly. In other words, you -- yes, YOU! -- are now responsible for choosing one out of every 10 TV shows/albums/books/movies/video games/websites that EW labels as ML-worthy.

If that's not pressure enough, PopWatchers, now the stakes have been raised. If the number of comments for this week's Must List item fails to exceed last week's current total of 373, then an adorable baby pony (pictured at left) will be very, very sad. Possibly inconsolable. For the rest of the week. You don't want that on your conscience, do you?

Okay then, here's what you must do. Give us your Must List suggestions in the comments section below, and be sure to adhere to the following rules:

(1) Please limit yourself to no more than three suggestions (and if you wanna explain your suggestions, go right ahead), and

(2) Please include your email (we won't publish it and we won't share it — we just need it to contact you if your submission is chosen).

We'll accept submissions up until noon on Thursday, July 12. So have at it — and then look for your name in our newest issue. Hey, it could totally happen. And at worst, you'll have kept an adorable pony in good spirits.

Big Kev's Geek Stuff if I do say so myself. Cover just about everything from movies and games to toys and comics and ocassionally some tech.

Danielle Thu, Jul 19, 2007 at 12:27 PM EST

1)SYTYCD (especially Wade Robeson's killer choreography)
2)Harry Potter and Order of the Phoenix synchronicty with release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
3)Quasi-celebrity and "actual" celebrity flame-outs/train-wrecks which are better than any "reality TV" series(i.e. Paris Hilton, Kevin Federline, Britney Spears, Lindsey Lohan etc., etc., etc.). Finally kids get to see that these people aren't "role models", they are just pathetic. And don't ask me to feel sorry for them because of the pressures of the high-life they lead - I'd rather enjoy the bonfire of the vanities.

John Mon, Jul 16, 2007 at 07:55 AM EST

I would have to voice my vote for the following indispensable sources of great recommendations on the web:

1) Thrillist.com -- a cityguide to NY, LA, and San Fran that sifts through the crap to find the best stuff that these cities are hiding... kind of like Daily Candy for guys.

2) SceneUnseen -- already mentioned here many times, but very funny and no BS.

Matty Ward Mon, Jul 16, 2007 at 01:26 AM EST

Wow, I'm late, too, but I thought I'd join in on the Scene Unseen recommendations. It is, without a doubt, the best movie review podcast/radio show out there. The site is http://www.sceneunseenpodcast.com and not only do they review a filom every week (along with some great DVD picks), but they also interview past and present figures in the industry from time to time. Quite insightful and very entertaining. That would be my top pick... and yes, my second and third, as well.

Todd Cunningham Sun, Jul 15, 2007 at 10:05 PM EST

I agree with the other people who wrote about scene unseen. It is the best movie podcast out there. Also a great rock podcast is the rock and roll geek show.

Wesley Stover Sun, Jul 15, 2007 at 09:48 PM EST

1. Scene Unseen - it's a brilliant and insightful podcast that gives a fresh perspective on new movies and tips you off to movies you may not be familiar with.

2. Big Kev's Geek stuff - Tons of info on all things geek (comics, movies, TV & toys)

3. The Lost podcast w/Jay and Jack - 2 weekly podcasts (even during the off season) on everyones favorite island

Robert Sun, Jul 15, 2007 at 08:03 PM EST

I highly recommend a trip over to sceneunseenpodcast.com where you will find 2 very hip and entertaining industry insiders reviewing the latest movies. They're intelligent, funny, irreverent, explicit and you just might learn something!

Kevin Lynch Sun, Jul 15, 2007 at 06:32 PM EST

Uno: SceneUnseen.com Podcast: Weekly wiseacre commentary and reviews from young industry insiders.
Dos: Rush - Snakes and Arrows tour: rejuvenated old-school rockers from Toronto put on a 3-hour show.
Tres: Enter the Haggis: Young guns rocking, also out of Toronto.

brian ellis Sun, Jul 15, 2007 at 04:47 PM EST

1. "scene unseen" podcast
2. "word balloon" podcast
3. www.pandora.com

all the bases covered. like the food group pyramid. films. comics. music.

jamieson fuller Sun, Jul 15, 2007 at 04:07 PM EST

one of the most entertaining sites i've found in a year is the podcast sceneunseen by two hip hollywood insiders who can't be over 25! and they're getting fan mail from all over the world....check it out

Christopher Browne Sun, Jul 15, 2007 at 02:38 PM EST

If you want to check out something different, something fresh, a brand new way of listening and talking about movies, I have three words for you...

SCENEUNSEENPODCAST.COM

stephen Sat, Jul 14, 2007 at 08:45 PM EST

Man, Slezak, I'm sorry this post only got a little more comments than the one about Kat McPhee. You can look at it in two ways:
1. We don't really care about that pony
or
2. We respond better when being praised for our shockingly good looks.

Jen Sat, Jul 14, 2007 at 07:13 PM EST

I'm late, but oh well.

1. How I Met Your Mother. I avoided this show like the plague because I was just so sick of CBS. But my friends FINALLY talked me into watching it (and it was cheap at Target) and I'm now sadly obsessed with the story, the characters, and especially Neil Patrick Harris as a womanizer. Who would've known he had all that in him? I actually buy it completely!
2. Kelly Clarkson. Her new cd rocks my socks off. I'm glad she's doing her own thing and not restricting herself to just mainstream pop. Props to her for standing up for herself in a field dominated by the dollar sign.
3.addictinggames.com. I work in a radio station with a lot of down time, and this place is perfect to find something to do. Shooting a kitten out of a cannon has never been more fun!

K.K. Fri, Jul 13, 2007 at 10:16 PM EST

Being able to link articles/op. eds from the New York times directly to my Facebook page...hint hint

Miss Dahlia Fri, Jul 13, 2007 at 11:46 AM EST

1. Amy Winehouse
2. Burn Notice
3. bestweekever.tv (I promise Popwatch, I love you both equally)

Alison Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 05:18 PM EST

GrEEk. On ABC Family. I know it sounds lame but who would have thought you would see one night stands and college-aged drinking on the Family channel and it not be a psa about bad choices...?? plus its highly entertaining.

www.creedthoughts.gov.www/creedthoughts

Or, in actuality, http://blog.nbc.com/CreedThoughts/

With thoughts like these:

"What ever happened to free love, man? Now I’m paying ten, fifteen dollars for it."

"My favorite part of the newspaper is the fun little stories about the dead people and their relatives."

what else do you need?

Stephanie Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 03:25 PM EST

1. Sara Bareilles' "Little Voice"
2. The return of Psych and Eureka
3. SYTYCD - Wade's choreography and Danny's ouster this week...

Stephanie Travitsky Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 02:11 PM EST

Venke Knutson's version of Ryan Adam's "When the Stars Go Blue".

It is a few years old, and sounds like it's from a bad Lindsay Lohan flick but it is a beautiful verison.

Kaiulani Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 02:10 PM EST

Burn Notice...the Cagney & Lacey reference last week was priceless.

Matt Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 01:26 PM EST

"Easy Tiger," by Ryan Adams - Sobriety suits Adams very well. "Easy Tiger" harkens back to the brilliance of his early solo work, and it's one of the best albums of the year.

Katie Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 01:25 PM EST

The Decembrists' brief but wonderful orchestral tour going throughout the summer in 5 more cities.

S Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 01:25 PM EST

1. Man vs. Wild on Discovery Channel
2. Elvis Perkins - "While You Were Sleeping" from Ash Wednesday
3. That youtube clip of the prairie dog turning dramatically to face the camera

Chris Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 01:21 PM EST

Here are my Must List suggestions in no particular order:

1) Wade Robson - The choregraphy he is doing on So You Think You Can Dance is sick every week and keeps my eyes glued to this incredible show

2) Justice - Their new album, Cross, is the CD that you wish Daft Punk could make again. It is single handedly one of the best electronic releases since Homework. The single, D.A.N.C.E., is so irresistibly catchy that you have to sing along and the video makes you want a neon, shapeshifting tee.

3)Oprah's Book Club - I am not the biggest fan of the "Poperah" but she as picked back to back Pulitzer Prize winners and peaked interest in great literature such as The Road and Middlesex

Lee Cochenour Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 01:19 PM EST

Three Bags Full - a great book about intelligent mystery solving sheep.

Burn Notice - C'mon, it's got Bruce Campbell.

World Series of Pop Culture - one day that $250000 will be mine!

M Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 01:10 PM EST

Inappropriate crushes on Daniel Radcliffe. He's younger than my baby brother... oh the shame.

Kasia Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 01:01 PM EST

Probably too late but why not?

1) Transformers-Definitely not just for the guys, there are elements that appeal to everyone, especially the towering robots, what's not to like?!

2) The World Series of Pop Culture-It really helps to have a break from all this reality junk on in the summer and host, Pat Kiernan is hilarious, especially when reading the hip-hop lyrics, my favorite so far has to be "My Humps" but hearing him cite all the booty music lyrics last night was awesome.

furry_tom Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 12:59 PM EST

Once that pony matures it'll probably realize that it shouldn't base it's happiness on something as trivial as the number of comments a message board receives.

Stephanie Travitsky Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 12:57 PM EST

Warriors Field Guide, Erin Hunter
For all of you fantasy fans out there, the Warriors series is a must read. For all of those who have read it so far, check out the the editor mistakes. One of the mistakes is pretty big.

Dirty Jobs

America's Got Talent

Ok. For all of you guys who think that Bruce Block and his bunny are cool, he is a professional comedian. If you check You Tube, he had an HBO special taped in Aspen Colorado. The rabbit sketch was changed for non-cable television. The real joke was that the rabbit has 50 brothers and sisters because he's Irish Catholic.

This year there like Last Comic Standing (Thea Vidal anyone?), there were a lot of professional talents. To be fair, the producers and the judges had to go with two or three rather than 10. Still this is going to be an excellent program going into the final round.

Gina Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 12:54 PM EST

As a side note - you didn't give us very long to post anything. If we had more time, I'm sure we could make your posting requirement number.

Brittany Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 12:52 PM EST

These are all things that get my through my extremely boring internship at work:
1. Albums that give the story/emotional hardship behind extremely public celebrity break ups, such as Mandy Moore's cd Wild Hope (Zach Braff) or Hilary Duff's cd With Love (Joel Madden). Through their relatable feelings of rejection, these really make them more human.
2. PerezHilton.com - Constant updates, extremely biased reports, edited photos, and extreme gradtitude for his fans put the juice in celebrity gossip and makes america's habit a little less shameless.

FabK Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 12:51 PM EST

Only 171 comments?!? That's going to be a very sad pony.

Katie Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 12:50 PM EST

1. Pat Kiernan -- seriously, watching him recite the lyrics of Baby Got Back with a straight face. There is nothing better.
2. The Pierces "Thirteen Tales of Love and Revenge" -- with lyrics like "Some people say that I want you for your money, but I really want you for your body" the Pierce sisters put together a rockin' album that I can (and do!) listen to over and over again. Plus, they are playing a couple shows in NYC in the next few weeks.
3. Harry Potter everything. Yeah, he is everywhere, but I can't get enough.

Gina Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 12:48 PM EST

Psych – back this Friday!
Love me some Dulé Hill!

Justin Caouette Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 12:47 PM EST

(1) The World Series of Pop Culture on VH1. I know EW would be tooting its own horn by mentioning it, but with its totally-approachable quiz questions and normal-acting folks (at least, as normal as pop culture obsession gets), I, for once, find myself playing along and actually rooting for these people. Stark contrast to the media-savvy, scantily-clad competitors on "Big Brother 8."

(2) Speaking of which..."Big Brother 8." The arch-nemesis twist seems to be working, at least with Daniele/Evel and Joe/Dustin. Where do they FIND these people?

LisaMama Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 12:16 PM EST

The Closer -- it's better than ever this season with the tension between Deputy chief Johnson and Sargent Gabriel. Is her favorite going to leave the LAPD?

trigrrrcut Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 12:13 PM EST

Patton Oswalt's 'Wearwolves and Lollypops' album: Patton Oswalt is on fire. Unlike some "rant comedians" he finds room for jokes, fabulous, transendent jokes.

A little late, but... Army Wives on Lifetime! It's got just enough soapy drama for summertime.

jessica0602 Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 11:30 AM EST

15 minutes late but...

Amy Winehouse - Back to Black. She is original, amazing and so mainstream so fast that Jay-Z already remixed one of her songs.

Kathy Griffin - My Life on the D List is the single noteworthy reality show on the air.

The Soup - Joel McHale is one of the funniest people to hit TV in recent years. His delivery is priceless!

jessica0602 Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 11:29 AM EST

Laura - you are my hero for using scrumtrulescent in a sentence.

kats Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 11:28 AM EST

Sarah~ Is that you? I like the song Umbrella for the same exact reason! I didn't care for it when I first heard it and then my brother pointed out the "ella ella ella", "eh eh eh" part and now I love it!

denny Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 11:17 AM EST

Christine Ebersole and Mary Louise Wilson in Broadway's Grey Gardens. These stunning performances are the stuff Broadway legends are made of. True bravura turns by two great actresses at the top of their game. If you don't see this before it closes on July 29th, you'll be sorry you missed it.

Brad Gardner Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 11:17 AM EST

Kelly Clarkson's "My December".

The album is beautiful, moving, and her best yet. Don't fall for all the negative press. It's beautiful.

In no particular order:

Steven Pasquale on 'Rescue Me'
Rhys Coiro on 'Entourage'
Mary Kay Place on 'Big Love'

Greg Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 11:03 AM EST

The Sundance Channel's new series "Live At Abbey Road"...An intimate look at some of today's biggest artist at the home of the greatest music ever made...

Sue Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 11:01 AM EST

It's noon right now! Trying to get in under the wire! No sad ponies!
1. Top Chef - less drama this season, more great cooking.
2. Eurydice at Second Stage Theater in NYC.
3. Kathy Griffin, My Life on the D-List. The prison episode was funny AND moving.

Kat Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 11:01 AM EST

Anticipation for The Simpsons Movie - After all of the Harry Potter craziness (and I am one of those people who say HP5 opening day, and will wait in line for the book) it's nice to wait for something that's been with you for 18 years, and it's meant to make you laugh!

Avidan Ackerson Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 10:53 AM EST

1) Doctor Who Season 3: David Tennant is always awesome, but Freema Agyeman as Martha Jones brings an extra sassyness that Season 2 was missing.
2) Television Without Pity (www.televisionwithoutpity.com): Providing mini recaps of summer shows so you can keep up without having to actually WATCH Big Brother. Plus, the Hell's Kitchen recap keeps track of how many times Ramsey gets bleeped. Awesome.
3) Hell's Kitchen. Arguably the best summer reality show on the air. Come for the never-is-made-properly risotto, stay for the verbal abuse.

Kristi Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 10:49 AM EST

1. Music – Eve’s Tambourine, good stuff, catchy! Fun!
2. TV – Man vs. Wild, Discover Channel – I recently discovered this little entertaining Gem and they have been showing so many past episodes you must tune in and learn your survival skills. Oh and he is funny, one time while hugging and scooting down a tree, he mentioned he was trying not to crush the family jewels, love him!
3. Website – Crimeblog.us – I’ve been reading this site for months but in case you haven’t discovered it, Steve Huff and his contributors always have a very interesting and insightful views into crimes and the minds of criminals and they are often the first to report on high profile crimes such as missing persons and mysterious murders like Chris Benoit.

FLGrl Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 10:47 AM EST

Top Chef

Nicole Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 10:47 AM EST

1. SYTYCD - Wade is crazy but his dances turn out crazy good. Mary's screams hurt your ears. But yet you can't help pick your favorite dancers to root for and yell at the TV for Cat's ugly dresses.
2. Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D List - She will literally perform anywhere and sometimes her commentary is more funny than the reactions she is getting from the crowd. Plus Team Kathy and her mother are just wonderful additions to the show. She makes you want to run into her on the street.
3. Blockbuster Total Access - during the semi-slow summer TV season how cool is it to rent all of the tv shows you missed (Veronica Mars I am so sad I missed you) and then you can return them in the store, pick up a DVD to watch while you wait and they will still send you the ones in your queue.

andy Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 10:46 AM EST

PATTI LuPONE in GYPSY at new york's city center- is it any wonder that the sassy broadway legend with her big voice and perfect comic timing is a perfect fit for the mother of all stage mothers, mama rose?

CLARKANDMICHAEL.COM- still haven't gotten used to the idea of a world without ARRESTED DEVELOPEMENT? then don't miss these webisodes featuring our favorite george michael (sorry, WHAM!), michael cera and his real-life best friend, clark duke.

RYAN ADAMS easy tiger- his 9th album in 7 years proves that one of music's most prolific artists is also one of its most gifted. radio-friendly songs (two) are paired with off-beat, rockin songs (halloweenhead)to create a sleek, melodic journey.

Alyson Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 10:41 AM EST

The White Stripes
Catching them at the crazy smallest venue in any city in Canada. And the impromptu concert that they throw in each town, continues to amaze.
http://www.cbc.ca/canada/prince-edward-island/story/2007/07/12/stripes-impromptu.html

Sarah Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 10:41 AM EST

1) Harry Potter: Normally you need a token child so you can go to a children’s movie but not with Harry Potter! Probably the only time when seeing something meant for an eight year old is cool.
2) Umbrella by Rhianna: Because I find it amusing to say ella, ella, ella and eh eh eh over and over again.
3) iPhone: Everyone wants one but you have to wait in line… wait, who waited in line for Lindsay Lohan? Wasn’t she supposed to be in rehab when it came out?

Jimmy Mattioli Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 10:40 AM EST

its not allowing my email address to go through..

Jimmy Mattioli Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 10:34 AM EST

Wanda Sykes, who can make any relatively horrible movie hysterical.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. It has a very Tim Burton-esque about it, which i loved.

"The Unknown J J Abrams Project". The most intruiging trailer I've ever seen.

Juli Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 10:33 AM EST

Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix

Big Love

Imelda Stauton (sp.?) in Harry Potter

Flight of the Conchords - When will I be able to buy a CD with all the great songs?

Anne Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 10:26 AM EST

1. Little People, Big World...I just love it.
2. World Series of Pop Culture...it's my kind of trivia game!
3. Singing Bee...it's happy, it's fun, and you can sing along at home!

Brandy Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 10:26 AM EST

1) www.jacksonpollock.org -- It's my favorite stress-reducing break from work.
2) http://video.the-leaky-cauldron.org/video/show/794 -- I thought I was a Harry Potter fan until I watched this and realized I'm just someone who reads the books...
3) The Food Fight Application on Facebook -- Yes, it's juvenile, but there's something very satisfying about spending virtual lunch money to throw items like pigs feet at your friends.

RLS Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 10:21 AM EST

Oh yeah - also the Tiger Woods/Roger Federer commercial that ran during the Wimbledon finals. Good stuff.

RLS Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 10:19 AM EST

The mostly smart people of this board who convinced me to give Friday Night Lights and Jericho a try. Really like them both.
I think I'll try Flight of the Conchords next.

Ryan Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 10:17 AM EST

1. Brothers & Sisters - best new show to deal with all current issues under the sun. Sally Fields is star-tv quality
2. Once - modern-indie musical of 2007. Captivating and funny
3. Sarah Polley - God loves Canadians, more especially those who can direct and capture poinant, Oscar Worthy performances.
4. Ellen Degenerous - the feel good, always welcome in my home, funny, gay host with the most appeal. Oprah SUCKED next to Ellen.
5. Rosie O'Donell - the brute, butch trucker-esque, "I'm not putting up with American frou-frouness" who brought the house down on the View (where we all secretly cheered Rosie on)
6. Democrates and The Senate - finally the Bush Bulldozers your country needs to turn things around.
7. Katherine Heigle - Grey's Anatomy and Knocked Up Super-actress-style-star-best-friend willing to put herself in media-scrutiny to stand up for T.R. Knight and bash unconstitutional desocialites.

Coach's Mistress Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 10:16 AM EST

FLIGHT OF THE CONCHORDS! Especially their song for "Hiphopopotomos & Rhymenocerous." Check it out on their HBO website to see what I mean, and then read the lyrics to confirm the incredibly hilarious and ingenious lyrics.
ADIDAS BOUNCE COMMERCIALS. I don't know why, but this commercial always makes me happy and smiley. Must be those bouncing smiley faces.
AVRIL PLAGARISM ACCUSATIONS. Anything to get "Girlfriend" off the radio is ok by me!

melissa Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 10:06 AM EST

1. The big mysterious mystery-ness of the untitled J.J. Abrams-produced film and its enigmatic, intriguing, somewhat confounding viral campaign. (This is the first time I've ever really gotten into one of these.)
2. "Traveler" on ABC. It'll probably be canceled after next week, but still. It's way better than reality TV.

1. Hit broadway show, Spring Awakening
2. CELLO! funnyordie.com
3. Me...seriously, I'm the next big thing.

Patt Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 09:52 AM EST

I agree with everyone on "Flight of the Conchords". I'd like to go check out bandshells in NYC.

It may not be the hippest thing to say but "Live Free or Die Hard" was one of the most fun times I've had at the theatre in ages. Bruce Willis made me laugh throughout the movie.

martianbecky Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 09:38 AM EST

2) Paul McCartney's Dance Tonight

I am obsessed with MTV's Rob & Big. Two 30-something single guys, living the dream. You want to buy a miniature horse? You buy a miniature horse, and build it a stable in the back yard! You want to meet the wackjob who claims to have invented a time travel device? You fly to Canada and meet him! I can't even explain what makes it so amazing, except that I have yet to see an episode that didn't make me laugh out loud several times.

Kathleen Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 09:33 AM EST

"World Series of Pop Culture" on VH1 -- this show gets my hyper. Plus I love to hear the host's deadpan readings.

Dan Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 09:28 AM EST

Fark.com - "It's not news, it's Fark".
Full of snark and insight, it's a website of real news stories (the good, the bad and the weird) submitted by that guy in the cube next to you, complete with his thoughts on the topic...however wrong they may be.

Liz Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 09:19 AM EST

1) The Fratellis, Costello Music. This Scottish rock group topped the UK charts and definitely should get more attention here in the States, especially with addictive songs like the energetic "Chelsea Dagger" and the ballad "Whistle for the Choir".
2) High School Musical 2. For reals. I know, I know, it's totally uncool and sad that a 20-something is even consciously aware of this tween sensation, but the truth is that HSM pretty much rocks my socks with awesome dancing and catchy songs. Maybe I never grew out of my childhood "Newsies" obsession.
3) PerezHilton.com. Confession: I check it MULTIPLE times a day. Who else but the self-proclaimed "Queen of All Media" can I trust to give me the latest and dirtiest gossip on celebs?

Mark M Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 09:10 AM EST

1. Armistead Maupin - "Michael Tolliver Lives". It's like visiting an old friend you haven't seen in years and you pick up right where you left off. If you haven't read the Tales of the City Series, put it on your Must List.

2.) Kathy Griffin - My Life On The D-List - From her stand-up at a prison to educating Middle School children on getting a boob-job or turning gay; from her divorce to the death of her father, this show is a must-see, a very must-see!

3) Sara Bareilles - "Little Voice"...there is nothing little about.

Pony Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 09:05 AM EST

Nunya - just fyi, a pony is not a "baby horse." A foal is a baby horse. A pony is a horse shorter than 14 hands (the measurement of horses). Many different breeds of ponies exist and when they are born, they are in fact a "baby pony."

BUMP: Imelda Staunton and Evanna Lynch in "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix".

ElChupacabra Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 09:04 AM EST

1) The World Series of Pop Culture on VH-1...a great show that I was proud to be a contestant on with two of my best friends for two seasons. Love ya, Jodi and Alexandra!

2) Burn Notice...a very smart take on the spy genre and it's pretty funny too!

3) Big Love...great show! Love their unique family dynamic and how snaky Bill seems to be getting.

Christa Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 08:56 AM EST

David Tennant, David Tennant, and more David Tennant.

Smitty Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 08:55 AM EST

Flight of the Conchords - best new show of the summer.

j.fo Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 08:52 AM EST

1) Kathy Griffin: smart, sassy, funny, biting - but also heartbreakingly human.
2) Friday Night Lights: seriously, i am so looking forward to the new season. Everyone should watch this beautiful show!
3) Flight of the Conchords: Rhymenocerous and HipHopapotamous? Awesomely silly.

lupa Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 08:44 AM EST

1)Spoon-Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga. Terrific songs, wry lyrics and deft instrumentation. Not to be missed.

2)Flight of the Conchords. Check out "The Humans are Dead". If you don't laugh, check your pulse.

3)Doctor Who on Sci Fi. Fantastical and fun, what more can you ask for? Eye candy?. Look no further than David Tennant and Freema Agyeman, hotties, both of them.

Caitlin V. Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 08:42 AM EST

1. Michael Cera. I've just now jumped on the Arrested Development train, though sadly it has taken the one way track to TV heaven. I'm also in love with Clark & Michael (thanks to ew.com for introducing that one to me!) and now I can't wait for his movie Superbad to come out in August.
2. The weekend of July 20th when I will be seeing Hairspray, then reading Harry Potter all night...and then probably going to see Hairspray again.
3. "There's a (slight) Chance I Might Be Going to Hell" by Laurie Notaro. Her first 5 books are short essays, but this is her first novel. It's absolutely hilarious and an extremely great book for the beach.

Gingercat Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 08:25 AM EST

1. Music: Mandy Moore's "Wild Hope" CD. It's good listening for singer/songwriter fans and pop fans alike, and perfect for summer.
2.Book: Michael Tolliver Lives, by Armistead Maupin. A fun novel, especially for fans of the "Tales of the City" series.
3. Movie: I can't wait to see "The Simpsons" on the big screen!

snarky Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 08:24 AM EST

(1) Gordon Ramsey. YUM. I am currently watching both Hell's Kitchen AND Kitchen Nightmares (BBCAmerica).

(2) K. Griffin, Life on the DList. I love that kathy is totally A list, but only in San Fransisco. Also that she cannot sell out at the prison b/c "Prison Break" is on.

(3) TRANSFORMERS. Best Movie Ever.

Tricia Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 08:23 AM EST

Flight of the Conchords - the hilarious half hour that's getting me through my summer

Mindi Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 08:16 AM EST

1. Interpol -- Our Love to Admire - Excellent. THE album of the summer.
2. Spoon -- Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga - This album is a delight. You owe it to yourself to listen.
3. Extras -- The Complete Second Season - Cringe-inducing comedy at its best.

Brandie Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 08:08 AM EST

Dlisted.com--Michael K. is snarky and hilarous as the host of the best celebrity blog on the entire Internet (eat your heart out Perez!).
The Way I Are by Timbaland--the song that gets me dancing... in my car!
Howard Stern on Sirius satellite radio--he's free and unfettered, making for the funniest radio EVER.

Laura Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 08:03 AM EST

1) The Harry Potter Crazies - it's all here, all at once, and the people are going nuts.
2) White Stripes tour - 1st U.S. stop - Maine!
3) funnyordie.com - Pearl's first starring role as the Landlord, and her gut-wrenching final role as Baby Cop. Scrumtrulescent.

Sarah Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 07:59 AM EST

In Celebration which opens today at the Duke of York's Theatre, London. PLEASE EW, HELP BRING THIS SHOW (AND ORLANDO) TO BROADWAY!!!

Katie Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 07:58 AM EST

1) So You Think You Can Dance. You have to love a reality show where the contestants actually need some kind of talent in order to get on the show and continue to impress us with their skills from week to week.

2) Zeitgeist by the Smashing Pumpkins
- My favorite band ever releases a great new cd. While I miss James and D'Arcy, as long as Jimmy Chamberlin is pounding on the drums and Billy is singing away, I am happy.

3) www.muffinfilms.com
- While an old website, it never got the attention it deserved. Funny litte films to crack you up.

1. So you think you can dance (the best show ever, especially if you don't have Tivo you can practice the routines during the commercials!)
2. The Closer
3. Reruns of Reba

FabK Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 07:46 AM EST

1. Murray from Flight of the Conchords - sure Jemaine and Bret can rock AND rap, but who is there to find them "a gig" and make sure they are "present"? Not to mention his interesting building tours - this week..Band Rotundas!
2. My Life on the D List - she's dating, she hosted the gay porn awards, she performed in a prison - this may be the best season ever!
3. Planet Unicorn - New episode July 30th! No explanation needed, just watch it. Feathers is the best!
There, I did my part - don't be sad pony!

--Crowded House "Time on Earth" - After over ten years apart, The Australian "Beatles" have a new album (dedicated to drummer Paul Fester who committed suicide) that stands with the best of their old stuff.

-- Mad Men - Because there's more smoking in this show than there was in "Good Night and Good Luck"

-- icanhascheezburger.com - Because its time for the offline world to embrace LolCats.

victoria Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 07:28 AM EST

1. summer music: Feist
2. summer reading (besides EW): Blueprint (Because I like to through fun parties!)
3. Kyle XY - Just watch it!

Verity Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 07:27 AM EST

1. Doctor Who on SciFi (TV) - the aliens are bigger, the adventures grander, and David Tennant looks oh so dreamy in his suit.

2. Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn (Book) - This book is dark and twisted and completely engrossing. Not to sound cliché, but I couldn't put it down. And, it's coming out in paperback July 31.

3. Rescue Dawn (Movie) - Christian Bale just keeps getting better and better. This is arguably one of his finest performances to date. And Steve Zahn shows he has depth as well as talent. To the Academy...I hope you're paying attention!!

kimbas Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 07:22 AM EST

2. Bonnie from Hell's Kitchen, because she's just so adorable.

3. Mario Cantone, just because he deserves it. "Hates it!" still makes me laugh.

Hilarious and meaningful insights from a gay man that even your momma would love to read;
Big Brother-how do they even cast this show anymore?? Are only fake boobs, single individuals, and complete morons invited? and yet still riveting....
The Bourne Ultimatim-the only movie that I am actually curious to see from a series of movies that actually keeps upping their game.

nunya Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 07:06 AM EST

A pony is a baby horse, so there is no 'baby pony', as that would be redundant. All ponies are babies. ....I don't have any must list info now, but maybe later....

Harry Potter and The Order of the Phoenix

Alan Hatton Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 05:31 AM EST

1 - Evanna Lynch as Luna Lovegood. Not only is she from my hometown of Termonfeckin in Ireland, but she so embodies the character of Luna that it's positively spooky.

2 - DListed - The most hilarious blog out there today. Yeah Perez may get there faster, but it's Michael K's obscene, horrendous and hellacious comment that makes me snort with hidden laughter at work.

3 - MuggleCast at mugglenet.com - THE Potter podcast. Ben, Laura and the gang ruminate on the upcoming book and movie and analyse ever morsel of information from the books, a wonderfully professional, entertaining and witty show that always whets my appetite for DH.

Edward Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 04:21 AM EST

Obviously, some folks can't count to three . . .

1. Marc Almond - Stardom Road LP (grand orchestral torch songs and crooners)

2. Evana Lynch as Luna Lovegood in Order of the Pheonix - inspired casting of a non-professional actors (plus it give hopes to lunatic fans everywhere)

3. Eureka Season 2 on SciFi, the first season started off nicely and the coming attractions look good.

KJ Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 03:13 AM EST

1. TV Show: Friday Night Lights. It renewed my faith in network TV. It also means that I will be sampling all of Fox's new wares this year in order to support Kevin Reilly, without whom, FNL would surely have died a premature death.

2. Website: PerezHilton.com. Sure it's crude. And mean. But admit it, you check it religiously, too. Who else is gonna say what the rest of us are thinking?

3. TV Show: Queer as Folk. Launched the birth of American gay TV. Without QaF, The L Word would have never been possible, which would be a tragedy to quality TV everywhere. And without QaF, would we have had Logo and Here!? QaF put gay issues on a serious premium network and raised the bar for GLBT programming.

Erin Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 02:58 AM EST

1. "Rant" by Chuck Palahniuk. He seems to always be overlooked but is one of the most innovative writers today.

2. "Kyle XY" on ABC Family. Who knew that ABC Family could produce such a well made and fun show.

3. Evanna Lynch in Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix. She exudes Luna Lovegoods spacey expressions but keeps the character believable and heartfelt.

Seth Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 02:36 AM EST

Please name check Mika on the Must List!

Lauren Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 01:39 AM EST

1. While the world is still buzzing about the Live Earth concerts, check out Al Gore's book "The Assault on Reason".

2. Sixdegrees.org- Kudos to Kevin Bacon for his charity work.

3. Phillip Pullman's books "His Dark Materials". Amazing novels, read them before the first movie (The Golden Compass) arrives in theaters.

Janine Fisher Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 12:51 AM EST

1. Rosie.com is a blog for your must list. Love her or hate her, Rosie's blog is illuminating, infuriating, entertaining and just all around good utilization of an evolving form of art/media. She posts poetry in blank verse, snippets gleaned from the news media, home movies, pictures of her artwork, Q and A that is often hilarious and biting, and many pix of her kids and colleagues. Rosie's blog is so intimate, so unfiltered, it makes all of us her "stranger-friends".
2. PerezHilton.com is a must list item for sure. Perez's gossipy website is packed with lewd and unflattering photos of celebs, complete with biting commentary. So, so, so mean. And so irresistible. The site is updated constantly throughout the day, so the temptation is always there to log on and see what is new. Forget "US" magazine and the Enquirer. Perez is like mainlining a celebrity fix for us entertainment junkies.

Danna Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 12:38 AM EST

1. World Series of Pop Culture! My team will be named Union of the Snake.
2. Flight of the Conchords - Funniest show of the summer thanks to Hiphopapotamus.

Faith Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 12:37 AM EST

1. Age of Love -- You gotta love a reality show that doesn't even pretend to NOT be (a) totally sexist (b) totally ageist (c) totally unfair. Props for embracing the inherent evil of dating shows and running with it!
2. So You Think You Can Dance
3. Buffy Season 8 comics!

Big Brother-TV and the Internet's guiltiest of pleasures is just starting to heat up, jump on the bandwagon and enjoy the ride.

Andrew Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 12:21 AM EST

Doctor Who- never saw it before, good stuff
World Series of Pop Culture
Kathy Griffin- Love the latest episode with her in the prison (funny and touching)

MelinCali Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 12:20 AM EST

If I see the words "must" and "list" paired together one more time on this infernal site, I'm going to pick a new 'must' read daily website.

EW take heed...you are buzz killing the buzz.

Good day.

Mariah Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 12:11 AM EST

clarkandmichael.com - displaying the greatness of Arrested Development's Michael Cera
"Just A Song About Ping Pong" by Operator Please - a great fun, catchy song for the summer
Version by Mark Ronson - quite possibly the album of the summer

Nathan Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 12:07 AM EST

1. Movie - Ratatouille - Probably the best thing Pixar's done, and that's saying a lot.
2. TV - Big Love - Every single character is so well written, I love spending my Monday nights in their neighborhood.
3. CD - Icky Thump by The White Stripes - For a rock n roll duo, they make a bigger sound than just about every other band out there right now.

EmilyB Wed, Jul 11, 2007 at 11:15 PM EST

You MUST watch the trailer for "Pushing Daisies" and you MUST set up your TiVo or DVR to record the show this fall when it debuts on ABC. Just watch the trailer, read who's involved, and that should be enough to convince you.

Erin Wed, Jul 11, 2007 at 10:52 PM EST

1. World Series of Pop Culture on Vh1
2. Big Love on HBO
3. seriouseats.com A must visit website for foodies.

PattyS Wed, Jul 11, 2007 at 10:45 PM EST

TV: World Series of Pop Culture...ah if only to waste the work day away dreaming up my own personal clever team name and wasting each and every night tuning into every episode.

Music: Fujiya & Miyagi; Transparent Things. A surprisingly pastey looking trio from the UK makes great dance music. Listen to Ankle Injuries.

Website: www.cafepress.com; Funny T-shirts. Enough said.

Jen Wed, Jul 11, 2007 at 10:44 PM EST

Oh crap, I forgot:

3. Season 3 of 'Doctor Who' on Sci-Fi. Best show ever! David Tennant is fantastic as The Doctor.

Jen Wed, Jul 11, 2007 at 10:30 PM EST

Two things:

1. 'Flight of the Conchords' - I have no idea if this has been picked for the Must List previously but my God, this show is funny.
2. 'Werewolves and Lollipops' by Patton Oswalt - Oswalt's newest CD is beyond hilarious. I know he's not for everybody, but this entire thing had me laughing so hard I cried.

kasper Wed, Jul 11, 2007 at 10:15 PM EST

1, Once-- movie and soundtrack, most exilerating musical i have seen this year, hairspray be damned.
2. SYTYCD-- Wade robinson can choreograph anyone into the greatest dance of the night.

Laura Wed, Jul 11, 2007 at 10:12 PM EST

1. Twilight and New Moon by Stephanie Meyer. They are Young Adult vampire novels. The third comes out August 7 and they are growing more popular with each book - both with teens and adults.

2. The Outsiders by SE Hinton. It was published 40 years ago and there is a special anniversary edition coming out in September.

Alyson Wed, Jul 11, 2007 at 10:01 PM EST

I know this is totally out of left field, but I am kind of digging the Babysitters Club comeback, from whatclaudiawore.blogspot.com to the crazy graphic novels based on each of the books. How nuts and fun in the summertime.

Steph Wed, Jul 11, 2007 at 10:00 PM EST

1. The book Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen
Depression era circus life is fascinating.

2. The new season of Kathy Griffin: My life on the D list.

David Wed, Jul 11, 2007 at 09:59 PM EST

I tried to send this first recommendation to you last week and it must not have arrived or you surely would have acted upon it . . . right?

1. Check out the "Pottercast" podcast, presented by Melissa, John, and Sue of the-leaky-cauldron.org (of the two best Harry Potter websites out there). What better time that now, when OotP has just been released and when "Deathy Hallows" is only days away, to give a shout out to all the Harry fans around the world? The Pottercast trio is touring the country this summer recording fan reaction and thoughts about all things Potter. It's a lot of fun and is worth mentioning on the Must List.

But . . . if that isn't your thing and you want something more artistic, how about checking out The Journal of Short Film--a DVD quarterly that showcases an eclectic mix of short films (up to fifteen minutes) on all topics and film styles imaginable. Just go to the www.thejsf.org website and take a look.

Markus Wed, Jul 11, 2007 at 09:59 PM EST

Mika's "Life in Cartoon Motion". If "Big Girl, You are Beautiful" doesn't make you want to freak the person next to you, there is something seriously wrong.

Marcus Wed, Jul 11, 2007 at 09:58 PM EST

"Soap" - I can't get enough of Benson. "Do you want me to get that?" Hysterical.

Amy Acker - Her stint on "Drive" was riveting.

Kurt Russell in "Used Cars"

Carmen Wed, Jul 11, 2007 at 09:58 PM EST

Definitely Mark Ronson's "Versions" and Rufus Wainwright's "Release the Stars." Ronson's makes me want to dance at my desk and Rufus, as always, makes me want to swing.

Christopher Turner Wed, Jul 11, 2007 at 09:58 PM EST

The "Venture Brothers" DVDs - an absolute must.

alison Wed, Jul 11, 2007 at 09:49 PM EST

Mark Ronson's deliciously entertaining "Versions". I have been shaking my ass to it all day!

musicdweller Wed, Jul 11, 2007 at 09:38 PM EST

Burn Notice - With irresistible charm and wit, this Miami-set spy caper has grabbed the attention of my group of friends. Want to learn how to be a spy? Tune in! The scenes with Weston and his mother are especially hilarious. The voiceover always makes me laugh out loud.

Maximo Park on tour - After two long years away, Maximo Park has returned to the States. An even stronger band and more thrilling live act. "Apply Some Pressure" indeed! Let's hope they return more often.

Bill Wed, Jul 11, 2007 at 09:31 PM EST

Hey, how about heading over to the comic book realm and give a couple of shout outs.

First, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" season eight. Four issues in, and you can see Joss going by the canon of the show, with sly references and some serious "Whaaa?" moments in the first four-issue arc. Next month's issue five gives us a break from the season story (just like a TV series), before heading back to the main story (of which, focuses on Faith).

Second, there's DC's "Countdown?" So far it's been a good, solid bit of storytelling that's far away from the "whiz-bang" comic-book of yesteryear. It's gotten me back into the comic book stores looking for a weekly fix.

Houstonian Jen in Baltimore Wed, Jul 11, 2007 at 09:27 PM EST

Wow, my entry contains the longest run-on sentence ever. Just goes to show you how angry I was after seeing Sicko tonight. Remember to edit that, EW. :O)

Houstonian Jen in Baltimore Wed, Jul 11, 2007 at 09:25 PM EST

"Sicko". No matter what your political persuasion is or how much you wish Michael Moore would just shut up, you have to feel something when you listen to the stories of Americans (WITH HEALTH INSURANCE) who are treated in the most unimaginable ways. I laughed, I cried, I came close to throwing my purse at the screen, but I left the movie wondering: how can my country treat its citizens this way???? (Plus, now I want a French woman to come to my house and do my laundry! That was pretty cool...)

Cat Wed, Jul 11, 2007 at 09:20 PM EST

1. Ice Road Truckers. I've only seen one episode but I am hooked. I've got three episodes more episodes on the DVR so it's looking like a great weekend.

2. Burn Notice. Really enjoyed episode 2 very sad that I missed episode 1. Wish I got TBS on my downstairs TV (with DVR) instead of just a snowy illegal version on my upstairs TV.

Andy Wed, Jul 11, 2007 at 09:19 PM EST

Watching both The Singing Bee and Don't Forget the Lyrics and then comparing them afterwards. So much the same thing, but so different.

Elissa Wed, Jul 11, 2007 at 09:16 PM EST

1. Flight of the conchords...they're genius. musical. hilarious.
2. So You Think You can Dance -- becuz they do the whole performer/america voting thing right... they have a good mix of bad & good.. from the auditions to the dancing performances. and hilarious judges.
3. Burn Notice - love that show.

MaxB Wed, Jul 11, 2007 at 09:13 PM EST

Sara Bareilles- Little Voice: Outstanding debut by the next big thing to hit music.
Big Brother 8: The cast of MTV's The Real World has apparently invaded the big brother house. One week in and I'm already hooked.
A Thousand Splended Suns: Khaled Hosseini's follow up to The Kite Runner improves up it's predecessor.

Tianne Haines Wed, Jul 11, 2007 at 09:08 PM EST

Harry Potter! Going to have a movie marathon to refresh before seeing the new one.

Lesley Wed, Jul 11, 2007 at 09:07 PM EST

I'm so glad someone brough up Bruce Campbell on "Burn Notice." He hasnt been a presence on TV since "The Adventures of Brisco County Jr." and it's about time be came back. Why he isn't more popular I'll never know.

My Must List:

(1) The Soundtrack to Tony-winning Best Musical "Spring Awakening"

(2) PerezHilton.Com

(3) Top Chef Season 3 - Watch What Happens When They Find Contestants Who Can Actually Cook!

Jenny Wed, Jul 11, 2007 at 08:43 PM EST

Ok, so it makes me a geek, but the book I'm really psyched about being released is the new Thursday Next book by Jasper Fforde. This overlooked series is a hilarious postmodern tromp through literature. It's THE beach novel for lovers of literature.

Movies: 1 - 08 - 08 trailer. Love the simplicity of it. It keeps you wondering and builds up the anticipation. Too many times trailers give away the best parts of movies, but not this one.

TV: Entourage. This is my saving grace in the summer. I love how it is always light, and it never takes itself too seriously. I also love how it always delivers with the cameo appearances. No one shys away from making fun of themselves (M. Night wanting to meet in the cememtary, Gary Busey being...well...Gary Busey). Love it!

Music: Feist "The Reminder" This album is just perfection for me. I can listen to it anytime, and there will be a song that will fit my mood. It's great for trips in the car, hanging out in the kitchen on Sunday morning, when I'm feeling blue or at night when all is calm.

Jeni Wed, Jul 11, 2007 at 08:39 PM EST

1) Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. There is nothing else this week!
2)The Bourne Identity. The new trailer looks good
3)The Golden Compass. The next trailer is out.

Rich Sparrow Wed, Jul 11, 2007 at 08:35 PM EST

1. LIsa Nova- You Tube is just the beginning for her.
2. Flight of the Choncords-outsiders in N.Y.-always funny.
3. Anything by Social Distortion.

Sara Carlsson Wed, Jul 11, 2007 at 08:35 PM EST

Mary Murphy on So You Think You Can Dance: she's crazy and possibly drunk...in a good way (the anti-Paula)!
Shaq's Big Challenge: OK this show is wicked cheesy, but it's also incredibly moving and I give mad props to anyone bringing the epidemic of childhood obesity (and some possible solutions) to light.
Kathy Griffin: Why hasn't this woman won an Emmy yet?

Lo que surja, the best Internet Spanish gay tv show ever.

Bruce Campbell on Burn Notice (and those wacky ads). Just when we wondered if it was in any way possible to get more of our favorite B movie (and saturday afternoon tv) star, he comes out with some playerific ads AND a shot as the cheesy old friend on this fun to watch USA show.

I'll always remember him as the rubber faced cabin victim, but find the man to be an absolute MUST now that he's back on tv.

cs Wed, Jul 11, 2007 at 08:28 PM EST

"Man vs. Wild" on the Discovery Channel. He is that rare person who could pee on his t-shirt and wrap it around his head to keep himself cool and still be so darn captivating.

Brandon Wed, Jul 11, 2007 at 08:28 PM EST

1) Spoon "Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga" Another hip, idiosyncratic addition to their catalog.

2) Idina Menzel "Defying Gravity" The Broadway diva redefines her stage hit for pop radio, and loses none of the intoxicatingly uplifting spirit in the translation.

3) "Transformers" More than just a blockbuster; It's an entire generation of kids' wildest dreams come true.

missy Wed, Jul 11, 2007 at 08:27 PM EST

1. Untited JJ Abrams Movie Trailer- The best part of Transformers was this teaser trailer which did someting unusual in the world of movie previews- made us actually want to see the movie!

2. 7-11 gets Simpsonized- Finally I can have a delicious squshee and some buzz cola.

3. Joshreads.com- A daily roundup of the weirdness in daily comic strip favorites like Family Circus and Mary Worth. It actually makes the funnies funny.

Kristin Wed, Jul 11, 2007 at 08:21 PM EST

Lisa Rinna guest starring on Entourage...someone give this talented woman a primetime non-reality show already!!

kats Wed, Jul 11, 2007 at 08:08 PM EST

Anything and everything Harry Potter. I'm excited about the movie but I'm starting to lose it waiting for the book. Excitement, anticipation, nerves, sadness and I haven't even read it yet.

So You Think You Can Dance - Amazing dancers, talented choreographers and crazy Mary. The only thing I'd change is can't we have a Wade Robson routine every week?

Lily Allen - Thank you Princes William and Harry for introducing me to my favorite new artist. I downloaded it all and I'm loving it. Go Lily! Go Lily! Go Lily! Go! Go!

Matthew Cruz Wed, Jul 11, 2007 at 07:45 PM EST

-Hok/Jamie Jazz Routine from So You Think You Can Dance: In a mundane season of recycled elements and an obvious lack of style came this gem of a dance from choreographer Wade Robson. It's as darkly poetic and mystically-driven as anything Guillermo del Toro would create.

-Secret J.J. Abrams Film Trailer attached to Transformers: At one minute and fifty-one seconds, this creepy and secretive trailer - No title! - is as provocative and exciting as any film that's been released this summer.

(spell checked.)Another MUST! Taking down your pictures from FACEBOOK and MYSPACE, as Miss New Jersey learned this week, your once innocent pictures, you know the ones, wink-wink, can be manipulated and then used for Blackmail by "The Committee to Save Miss America" a secret organization led by drag queens and unemployed chorus boys with too much time on their hands.

Mozz Wed, Jul 11, 2007 at 07:43 PM EST

What's more MUST than MOVIES WITHOUT TITLES. As JJ ABRAMS proved, you don't need a title to have people craving for story. His 1 - 08 - 08 trailer is so fabulous it doesn't even have to be named.

Another MUST! Taking down your pictures from FACEBOOK and MYSPACE, as Miss New Jersey learned this wee, your once innocent pictures, you know the ones, wink-wink, can be manipulated and then used for Blackmail by "The Committee to Save Miss America" a secret organization led by drag queens and unemployed chorus boys with too much time on their hands.

Gogol Bordello. Regardless of the weirdness that went on at Live Earth with Madonna, they are refreshing. As eMusic says, "Combining elements of punk, gypsy music, and Brecht-ian cabaret". What could be better?

1) Eureka on SciFi - it's just the right blend of sarcasm and science fiction.

2) Michael Giacchino's score for "Rataouille" - so addictive that I left a browser window open to ratatouille.com for 30 minutes last night listening to it over and over.

3) http://icanhascheezburger.com - a daily obsession.

4) www.imcdb.com (internet movie car database) - scarily complete

Simone Wed, Jul 11, 2007 at 07:34 PM EST

1. harry potter and the order of the phoenix. are there other things happening in the pop culture world this week? i think not.

2. entourage. (this week's episode) between the mayor, m. night and harvey what else is there?

3. burn notice. pretty good for a summer time show on usa. or better than countless reruns. either way.

Julia Strusienski Wed, Jul 11, 2007 at 07:29 PM EST

The Golden Compass: because with Harry Potter winding down, now is the perfect time to get into an equally enchanting world with complex and vibrant characters. Plus, only five months until the movie!

donner Wed, Jul 11, 2007 at 07:28 PM EST

1. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix - like duh!
2. Pat Kiernan - I have a massive crush on the World of Pop Culture host...sigh...

1. Doctor Who on Sci Fi: those of us across the pond get our cable TV debut of the Twilight Zone of the UK
2. Season 2 of Big Love: the show definitely got even better this year- juicier, more complicated, more crazy characters

3) 30 Rock

Henning Wed, Jul 11, 2007 at 06:36 PM EST

1) Simpsons avatars on "The Simpsons Movie" website (www.simpsonsmovie.com). For eighteen years I've wondered what my yellow doppelganger might look like - now I can see him in all his bug-eyed, four-fingered glory.

2) The Dangerous Book for Boys - all the really important stuff they left out of my school lectures.

"Hairspray" Soundtrack... no matter what people say about boycotting this movie it looks like absolute fun thanks in great part to the music!

"Revolutionary Road," by Richard Yates. I picked it up after hearing it would become a movie, (Starring Kate Winslet, nonetheles), and it makes you rethink the definition of 'happy.'

Goodreads.com

I love the idea of posting what I have read, am reading, and am going to read...and reviewing my reads...and seeing what others are reading. I have to limit myself so I don't spend every waking hour on it. And I can't wait to check it out the day after HP 7 comes out.

annie Wed, Jul 11, 2007 at 06:25 PM EST

1) show: flight of the conchords. just when i think this show couldn't get any better, bret writes a 2-hour long song about things he says he'll do for his girlfriend but won't actually do.

2)song: "the night starts here" by stars is so amazing that all i can say is to download it. now.

3)music video: feist's "1234" is almost as cute as feist herself.

Sara Bareilles' new cd "Little Voice" This singer/songwriter is the next big thing

Erin Wed, Jul 11, 2007 at 06:16 PM EST

My must of this week is Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Not only was Imedla Staunton perfect as Dolores Umbridge, David Yates also provided us with a darker and better Potter. Kudos to his directing! The trio were back better than ever! I can't wait for Yates' Half Blood Prince. We will not be dissapointed!

Chris Richards Wed, Jul 11, 2007 at 06:13 PM EST

1. Weird Al Yankovic, who is touring with an incredible set for his latest album, Straight Oughta Lynwood, who remains as funny and as relevant today as he was more than a decade ago when I first started listening to him.

2. Eternal Darkness Santiy's Requim. A game from a few years back that I just discovered. As your character goes slowly insane in the game, it plays with your mind just as much as you play with it. From turning off the TV to sudden screams of agony, this game could challange the Exorcist for making your hair stand up in the dark.

3. Dead Like Me - Why this show was canceled, I will never understand. Funny, dark, and always delving into its complex and often wonderfully eclectic characters, this gem is a must-have on DVD.

Aaron Wed, Jul 11, 2007 at 06:12 PM EST

The music video for "Throw it On Me" by Timbaland featuring the Hives. How Sin City was meant to be: 2 minutes and 11 seconds long.

Jason Wed, Jul 11, 2007 at 06:10 PM EST

1. Imedla Staunton in "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix"
2. "Girlfriend [Remix]" Avril Lavigne and Lil' Mama
3. Book: How to Lose Friends and Alienate People

tiffypoole Wed, Jul 11, 2007 at 06:09 PM EST

1. SoapNet reruns of The OC. Relive the early days of season 1, the not quite as stellar days of season 2 and countdown the days until Marissa dies in season 3. Then, bask in the glory of the awesomeness of Taylor and Kaitlin in season 4.

2. Fergie's video for "Big Girls Don't Cry." No, it's not a song of summer (could that possibly belong to her "Glamourous"?), but it features Milo Ventimiglia in a sleeveless shirt and non-emo haircut. Now we know what became of Jess after he left Stars Hollow.

3. Mindy Kahling's Blog - Things That I've Bought That I Love. www.mindyephron.blogspot.com. Even for free, I love this blog.

4. Vanilla Coke Zero. Not a pop culture must, but awesome for the summertime. Mix it with rum, add some ice and enjoy on a patio.

5. World Series of Pop Culture on Vh1.

6. The return of It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia.

7. Reruns of 30 Rock on NBC. If you missed it the first time, it's new to you (remember when NBC had good shows? Tina Fey does).

girard31 Wed, Jul 11, 2007 at 06:07 PM EST

"Flight Of The Conchords" on HBO, I never knew droll could be so adorable.
