When God closes a cell door, He opens a window

Categories: Music, Paris Hilton

Sure, you're breathing a sigh of relief now that traffic scofflaw Paris Hilton is being sent back to jail... but wait, what's this? Right below People's report on Paris' reincarceration is this article. It's as if the universe sensed that (for the next 45 days, at least) there would be an aching void of well-lacquered rich gals who can't sing.

Does the cell come in pink? Is there a televison in the cell? Are the bedsheets silk? Does the waiter bring her food to the room without a view? What type of wine is served with a salami sandwich? Do the bullies visit Paris for a "friendly" chat? Can she make late-night-runs for a cold brew? Does the prison garb come in anything other than stripes? Has she gotten closer to her mommy? Is she going through withdrawl? Will she ever be the same?

Bubba Magoo: Ha ha, funny. Paris should get ready for the numerous letters that will soon arrive from whacked numbskulls, which I suspect, you are the leader.

Bubba Magoo Tue, Jun 12, 2007 at 09:50 AM EST

Write Paris a letter:

Uhhh, Bluebell Madonna. I think she came up with that name after spending a day at the track.

Martha Mon, Jun 11, 2007 at 01:21 PM EST

Furry_Tom and Ep Sato, you slay me. Thanks for the laugh on a gray Monday at work. All the drama around Paris' reincarceration makes me wonder if she has mental problems. Or maybe she's just completely and totally spoiled. Apropos of very little, does anyone else feel sorry for poor little "Bluebell Madonna"? Her peers are already getting ready to beat her up on the playground.

Bev Mon, Jun 11, 2007 at 10:10 AM EST

EP Sato: You are a riot! I do enjoy the way you write.

Paris will be out in a few days for good behavior. It wont be long before she starts her pathetic antics again.

Paris Hilton not on level with the Spice Girls? What? The Spice Girls turned mediocre talent into lots of money. Paris Hilton did *nothing* except getting caught on tape by some shade boy toy and created an internationally known brand worth more than the Spice Girls ever made. And Posh Spice would be very happy had she only a tenth of Paris' publicity. On the other side, the Spice Girls did spark a copcat 'band' that contributed to the demise of a much-revered program that in its earliest days featured - of all people - Paris Hilton among the extras. Ah, well, I stand corrected.

Ep Sato Mon, Jun 11, 2007 at 08:41 AM EST

Shameful guilt fills me with the thought of Paris in Prison for the next few weeks. Somehow it feels even better the second time they put Paris on ice.

The Spice Girls play in a different league than Paris. They spawned at least one copycat band ("the Pussycat Dolls"), and their movie featured a former James Bond.

Paris played a tramp in a sadsack horror remake and co starred in a porno with a skeezer who sold the video.

Still, with Paris in jail and Lindsay in rehab, who will we talk about for the next few weeks? Oh Olsen twins, hook us up!

Where Y'at, Dawlin'? Sun, Jun 10, 2007 at 10:22 AM EST

Wow, KAT...take a breath already! (Or buy a punctuation mark)

FLIPPER Sat, Jun 9, 2007 at 09:07 PM EST

Let's get back on track. This is about Paris not Spice.
Anyways, even though I can't stand her, I feel for this gal. Why? Cause she's not too bright. I always have a soft spot for those who live in ignorance and bliss. I wish her whole insanely rich family would be forced to spend a year in Somalia or any impoverished country and learn from it. It's the only way these types will actually 'get it'.

Wes Sat, Jun 9, 2007 at 07:00 PM EST

How dare you compare the Spice Girls to PARIS HILTON!? They did more than Paris could ever hope to. For someone who is so interested in pop culture, it's a shame that you can't recognize that.

Nude Gingrich Sat, Jun 9, 2007 at 02:32 PM EST

The spice girls are soooo passe.

The triangle woman is now the queen of the absurd a verse.

"Rumors have circulated recently that the band would reunite for the Princess Diana memorial concert that is to be held on Diana's birthday, July 1, to mark the 10th anniversary of her death."
Hasn't her family suffered enough already?

Freddie Fri, Jun 8, 2007 at 06:41 PM EST

Yikes. Not sure which is worse - this Paris nonsense, or people coming to the defense of the Spice Girls.

Ali Fri, Jun 8, 2007 at 06:23 PM EST

Kat: You have made some valid points, but are you aware that OJ Simpson was black and was found not guilty because he had enough green to pay the "Dream Team?" I know, he only looked black.

KAT Fri, Jun 8, 2007 at 06:17 PM EST

I think its about time because black people and poor people never gets anybreaks so why should she. She is rich and could have had someome drive for her but poor people drive on suspension because they have no choice or have made mistakes in life but do not have money to have a fresh start so they are plagued for the rest of their life eventhough they want to do better

Yeah! Fri, Jun 8, 2007 at 06:13 PM EST

Perhaps she can get together with Isaiah. She can help him with his discrimination, and he can help her with her drinking by keeping her occupied in the alcoba.

Nancy Walker Fri, Jun 8, 2007 at 05:12 PM EST

Paris called for her mommy when she was told she would be going back to prison. I wont cry a river for the "lady," she wont get any harsh treatment. She might break a nail. It is so nice to know she is not getting away with her misdeeds. Although, she may still get time off for good behavior.

Tom Fri, Jun 8, 2007 at 04:58 PM EST

*driving while drunk -- oops!

Tom Fri, Jun 8, 2007 at 04:57 PM EST

I agree. The Spice Girls worked hard for their fame. None of them are Maria Callas, but their music is fun. Don't lump them in with Paris. They don't get drunk, go driving while driving, violate their parole and expect no punishment.

Stephanie Travitsky Fri, Jun 8, 2007 at 04:57 PM EST

Serves her right. Now this proves that spoiled selfish socialites are not above the law...they are just above a liquor cabinet.

Nancy Walker Fri, Jun 8, 2007 at 04:52 PM EST

Well, Well, Well! Did anyone get a good look at her bawling like a five year old? She was screaming about how unfair it all is. Hope the deputy enjoyed his bribe.

Mutai Fri, Jun 8, 2007 at 04:44 PM EST

Paris must have pissed people off enough for them to devote a website to doing away with her permanently.

daisyj Fri, Jun 8, 2007 at 04:40 PM EST

At first I read that as "Paris Hilton's reincarnation", and I was very, very worried.

Maeve Fri, Jun 8, 2007 at 04:31 PM EST

Don't go there...the Spice Girls are a world away from Paris Hilton.

Stef Fri, Jun 8, 2007 at 04:20 PM EST

Paris Hilton going back to jail was the top news story on my local hicktown news. I guess I should be happy because it means no one died, but it's pretty ridiculous!

Sarah Fri, Jun 8, 2007 at 04:18 PM EST

Please don't compare my Spice Girls to Paris Hilton.
