I reaaaaaly hope that tey make everything fullscale not some patheticly cheap shrunkin version.... I think they shud have a womping willow ride, Rons house, sirius blacks house, nocturn and diagon ally, a quiditch field, and all the secret passage ways, honey dukes, basicaly all the things that were in the movies. But most of all I hope they would make some sort of a wand looking ramote that could be voice cammand to do stuff like open doors and turn lights on and off. I know it sounds far fetched but it would be extremely cool and a sorting hat that told you what house you were in

I can hardly wait. I hope they do this right and to the proper scale of Hogwarts in the movies... not small scale. I also hope that in the Forbidden Forest will be several mythological and fantasy creatures. I'd love to see realistic looking Centaurs, "Fluffy" the Cerberus type 3 headed dog, "Buckbeak" the Hippogriff and others.

This is by far the coolest thing ever! A Harry Potter theme park. I've loved Harry Potter since the beginning and I'm so excited about this. The places in the books and movies I would like for them to build are:

Shrieking Shack, Hogsmeade, Hogwarts, Diagon Alley, The Owlery, All four of the common rooms - Slytherin, Gryffindor, Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw, The Giant Chess Board, Devil's Snare, The Mirror Of Erised, The Chamber Of Secrets, A way to ride Buckbeak, Hagrid's Hut, A Quidditch Field, Invisibility Cloak, Way To Fly On Brooms, All the rooms in Hogwarts, Platform Nine And Three Quarters and my list goes on and on.

I'm so excited about this park and I think it will be an instant hit. This is going to be one of the greatest theme parks ever.
Hogwarts is coming to Orlando, SWEET.

I live in Orlando. They do have some room to expand into the parking lots mentioned in the article, but it's not that much room. Islands of Adventure itself is one of the smallest theme parks in Orlando and is bounded on all sides by residential and commercial properties. I don't mean to be a buzzkill, but folks need to be realistic about what they'll be able to accomplish.

What they're doing is leaving part of the "Lost Continent" section as is (probably the area closest to Seuss Landing), and changing the other part, as well as some areas currently used by employees, into Harry Potter. Allegedly, this will include converting the Dueling Dragons and Flying Unicorn roller coasters to a Potter theme. But, it's all speculation at this point.

This is a really good idea. I would say almost every Harry Potter fan has, at some point, wished Hogwarts and Hogsmede and whatnot were real places. The only bad thing is it will be EXTREMELY crowded...and if it's going to be small like everyone says it will be UNBEARBLY crowded like Disneyland on Christmas.

I live in Orlando and this is the talk of the town. What they're doing is taking part of the area in IOA known as The Lost Continent (which will be much smaller) and a large area behind Suess Landing and The Lost Continent to make up the Harry Potter area. It won't be a "Theme Park," but it's going to be really big.

They are touting it as a THEME PARK WITHIN A THEME PARK. I think those words mean its gonna be a bit more then just another LAND.

Think of it like this.. Islands of adventure is in Universal Studios.. So this harry potter world will be in islands of adventure but probably HUGE!

I think they know better then to give the potter funs some measily land with 1 or 2 rides.

I can't wait. I've been wanting to go to Universal and when this comes out my little one will be 6 years old. Should be the perfect age to open her eyes to Harry Potter. I'll have to go and do everything in that area at least once. I do hope they have a wax museum or those moving figures like in Disney World. An animatronic Hagrid would be cool! How wonderful, and not that far away from opening! Yay!

Even if it's just one or two key locations - how fun! I hope they include the Gryffindor commonroom, Hagrid's hut, Dumbledore's office and the Ministry of Magic. I'm sure they could get creative and make gift shops out of the Diagon Alley stores and a restaurant in the Great Hall. But you got to have Voldemort in there someplace...I'm thinking a washable Death Eater tatoos for 10 bucks a pop.

One has to know that this will be just one section of the Islands of Adventure park in Orlando, not a theme park all by itself. I expect it will have 1 or 2 big E tickets, a couple of C and D ones, maybe some kind of restaraunt and lots and lots of merchandise shops.

This story is being widely misreported. Rather than getting a whole theme park, Harry is being added as one of the "worlds" to Universal's Islands of Adventure. The Orlando Sentinel website has some of the preproduction artwork. There will be a Hogwarts and a Hogsmeade. Some of the rides may be reworkings of rides already in that area of the park.
