For Sale: 1982 Trans Am, with prissy voice, as seen on TV

Kitt_l Anybody got $149,995 to spare? KITT's up for sale, PopWatchers! And, let me tell you, I've always coveted David Hasselhoff's talking 1982 Pontiac Trans Am from Knight Rider. I remember once convincing my mommy and daddy to take the family to Universal Studios in Hollywood so that I'd get to sit in the souped up car for a few minutes — they argued that there were better ways for me to spend my 30th birthday, I begged to differ. Anyway, point is: I've gotta have it. The car, apparently one of four that was actually used on camera in the show, has been restored to its Reagan Era glory. And while it may not actually be legal to drive on the street (thanks to emissions standards and, I don't know, that rockin' red light on the hood), I'll be the envy of all the kids on the block. Don'tcha think?

(Okay, in all seriousness, dude! A-hundred-and-fifty-kay for a car that doesn't even drive and wasn't even really that cool when we were five years old? C'mon.)

Hi, I have to admit that i love this car, I'm unhappy becasue the car doesnt drive or talk itself, i dont know why it doesnt, but my question is is the car indestructable like in the show? I really wanttat feature becasue i'm sick of getting my car scratched every time by strangers, lol. I hope I'll get the money, i know its in USDollar, but yeah not bad price if it looks exactly like in the show not like these replica copies, if you have a spare one please reserve it for me untill I get the money
thanks
Regards : Nader

You could settle for Wonderbug, Stephanie. He was almost as good as Speedbuggy, but didn't talk as much.

sorry just checked, wrong josh, still funny

toonces Thu, Apr 5, 2007 at 03:23 PM EST

is this the same josh that writes the amazing race recaps bc that line about your 30th birthday just made my holy week!

It's funny what a red light that moves back and forth can do.

Stephanie Thu, Apr 5, 2007 at 11:39 AM EST

Actually 149K is not a bad price for an '82 Trans. Still I think that Speed Buggy was cooler, but he was a cartoon.

Jane Thu, Apr 5, 2007 at 11:28 AM EST

I'd like the Metallicar instead, please.

furry_tom Thu, Apr 5, 2007 at 10:24 AM EST

I'm waiting for them to auction off that shag carpet Hasselhoff wore on his chest in Baywatch.

Dude, I'd rather pony up the money for a DeLorean. Much easier to get hyphy in. I bet I could even ghost ride the whip in a DeLorean.
