Spidey3_2pack_l With great power comes great responsibility... to market the bejesus out of your superhero movie. On Monday, you can catch the new  trailer for Spider-Man 3 (out May 4) on NBC during Heroes. But until then, whet your appetite with our exclusive look at Diamond Select's Spidey 3 toys. The Minimates to your left go on sale in late March. And the detailed Sandman and Venom sculpture-bust-thingies pictured after the jump are all yours come late April. (There are also sculpture-bust thingie versions of red-suited Spidey, black-suited Spidey, and the new Goblin, but we think you get the gist.)

TBT is bitching? He's the only one talking sense! Heck, he didn't even try insulting anyone like Anthony did.
I understand that the concept of a block figure doesn't appeal to all people, and that's fine. But do we really need to start a flame war just because some people are posting positive response to the products displayed on this page? Why the heck are any of the rest of you here? If our lives are so sorry for looking at this page, then what does that say about these supposed "cool guys" who are hanging out here hating on us "30+ virgins"?

Your Mom Sun, Mar 4, 2007 at 01:37 AM EST

TBT, you just need to stop your bitchin'.

Peter Petrelli Sun, Mar 4, 2007 at 01:29 AM EST

Hey Man, this is Pete, and I just wanted to say the U.S.A. ROCKS!!!! God bless us. Hey, let's kick Iraq's ASS!!! YAY

Sat, Mar 3, 2007 at 10:56 PM EST

These look awesome. Praise God that this great movie is coming out this year!

I'll probably be picking up the figures for this movie. This movie is gonna rock. Well, just leaving my comment. God Bless, you guys.

Kevin Sat, Mar 3, 2007 at 02:00 AM EST

another thing that I didn't mention was 24, Heroes, and Smallville will be nominated as televisions most popular showa. Kiefer Sutherland, Tom Welling and Hayden Pannettiere are among the few that will receive awards. Hayden a jewel in my eyes will win as one of the supporting actresses for Heroes playing Claire Bennett a Odessa, Texas Cheerleader who is invulnerable to physical harm and injuries. Ali Larter(Niki and Jessica Sanders is on the list as well. Greg Grunberg(Matt Parkman will host the show with another actor. He should win an award too as Matt Parkman a former police officer. One of my favorite T.V. actors in the show is Milo Ventimiglia(Peter Petrelli) is a young man who can fly and has picked-up other abilities too. Smallville a new Superman series is in the preparation to begin it's sixth season The Justice League will face a series of threats around the world against Lex Luthor(Michael Rosenbaum good actor. He favors Michael Keaton one of my all-time favorite actors.

Kevin Sat, Mar 3, 2007 at 01:50 AM EST

Hello!!! Spider-man fans!!!. Kevin here to say that Spider-man 3is on the way with the toy merchadise already being made as well as, the video game too. last year, Superman Returns made a major impact at the Box Office and in the merchadise industry. The Video game had some problems but, good news the demo version received excellent reviews. Superman Returns the video game is still a great game to play. Ign said that there is no story to the game bullcrap Superman Returns does have a plot from the film with new twists and turns. Superman Returns will receive alot of Oscars and Academy Award nominations this May. Hugh Jackman will receive awards for his role as Wolverine in X-MEN:THe Last Stand at the awards and Brandon Routh will receive awards too fro his role as Superman in Superman Returns, other cast members will be awarded too, Kate Bosworth(Lois Lane), Parker Posey(Kitty Kowalski), Tristan Lake Leabu(Jason Lane), James Marsden(Richard White) and I don't doubt Kevin Spacey winning

Random Guy Fri, Mar 2, 2007 at 08:12 PM EST

Grin, 'Real Spidey' the dumb part is that you dont realise there is a difference, if you're going to claim rip off at least yell Kubrick and look like you know what you are talking about :P

And they're not exacty new, they've been making them for years.

TBT Fri, Mar 2, 2007 at 08:02 PM EST

Grin you guys are funny, I agree anyone takes time to say someone else has no life in a thread they dont care about must see the irony. :)

As for the minimates, give them chance before you knock'em they are small enough to make cool desk toys, and yes before someone "smart mouths" yes I'm comfortable with my life/job/'ability to get laid' that I can have toys on my desk and not feel like I'm doing something dirty.

The Real Spidey Fri, Mar 2, 2007 at 07:57 PM EST

I do agree with Anthony. They are just giving Lego’s a new name and making it sound like new product. We should all be insulted that they would expect us to be dumb enough to not pick up on that.

hambone Fri, Mar 2, 2007 at 07:27 PM EST

I agree with Damian. That guy has some issues that probably need to be studied. Sounds like someone's mom sold all his star wars figures when he was 15 and he's been bitter about it ever since. (Although I agree that the whole concept of minimates is a bit lame).

Damian Fri, Mar 2, 2007 at 07:22 PM EST

the guy below me is an ass!!!!

Anthony Fri, Mar 2, 2007 at 05:40 PM EST

Okay, this needs to be said: You people are lame, drooling all over this stuff. What is this, the 4th grade? This is exactly why your lunch money was stolen when you were kids. Drop a set and get laid.

And secondly, those Minimates are clearly just some cheap old Lego’s painted to look like a comic book character. Give me a brush, some paint and some old Lego’s and I’ll create my own “new” set of useless crap…er, I mean Minimates. If they are actually making money off this junk, then I should go collect some twigs from my yard and paint them various bright colors and pass them off as “new” Star Wars lightsaber toys. And then the same 30+ year old virgins, who cream their pants every time a comics/Sci-Fi convention comes to town, will surely buy all my twigs, er, I mean “NEW” Star Wars lightsaber toys….and I would give a discount to all the “special” people (who are probably just living in their parents basements) that bought the Minimate Lego rip-off toys.

Ep Sato Fri, Mar 2, 2007 at 01:18 PM EST

I keep thinking about that too. Many of the gems of my collection were given to my kid sister (she's 8 now), and while the action figures were a hit with her during the tomboy stage, they all got THROWN AWAY (I still cringe at that thought) when she got back to being girly. It broke my heart and I'm sure my own spawn will end up destroying what's left of my most prized collectibles.

Maybe this means my Millenium falcon and special edition Optimus Prime will have to be hidden away somewhere in storage...

bg 17 Fri, Mar 2, 2007 at 01:09 PM EST

By the way, does this mean that Venom is actually in this sequel? Or is it just the origin story of how Eddie Brock (still blowin' my mind that it is Topher Grace) came to gain the alien costume?

bg 17 Fri, Mar 2, 2007 at 01:06 PM EST

To Ep Sato re: no toys since lady came into the life. Just knock her up. It blows my mind how quickly the action figures become the go-to toys. Mind you, the kids beat the hell out of your collection if it isn't out of reach.

furry_tom Fri, Mar 2, 2007 at 11:25 AM EST

And I commend you too for being pretty classy even though I flamed you.

furry_tom Fri, Mar 2, 2007 at 11:12 AM EST

Sorry dude, I was just playing around. I know my s**t stinks too.

drgnrbrn316 Fri, Mar 2, 2007 at 11:02 AM EST

See, now is that called for? If your life is far too full of better things to do, they why are you here trying to stir up crap on a topic about toys?

furry_tom Fri, Mar 2, 2007 at 10:57 AM EST

RE: those of us who do know how to appreciate a good toy.
I apologize. You're completely right. I guess I haven't kept up with the latest in toy technology since the first time I got laid.

drgnrbrn316 Fri, Mar 2, 2007 at 10:52 AM EST

Lego rejects? Minimates far surpass Lego figures in every way. They're far more articulate and far more detailed than Lego could ever hope to be.
I realize that Minimates aren't for everyone, but show a little more respect for those of us who do know how to appreciate a good toy.

furry_tom Fri, Mar 2, 2007 at 09:19 AM EST

Are they going to come out with real action figures or are they sticking with those Lego rejects with upside-down-wastebasket heads?

darthseedeeous Thu, Mar 1, 2007 at 10:05 PM EST

no comments, freakme out the sandman and venom bust, awesome

Ken Thu, Mar 1, 2007 at 08:12 PM EST

I might just have to go out and find some Spidey Minimates!

Jontae Thu, Mar 1, 2007 at 07:19 PM EST

If a woman who doesnt apreciate a action figure collector. They are not a true woman!

Brad Thu, Mar 1, 2007 at 05:05 PM EST

Ep Sato-
I too feel your pain, but you have love and other stuff, that are so much better than toys....Sometimes.

Ep Sato Thu, Mar 1, 2007 at 04:58 PM EST

How come toys are cool now that I've given up on action figure collecting and am living with a woman? two years ago my transformers collection would have surged with the new series, and my Marvel Comics shelf would have needed it's own zip code. Now, all the good stuff's coming out and I can't buy it!
