'Grey's' gossip: Is Denny back from the dead?

Somebody grab the defribillator for this heart-stopping piece of gossip: A compelling rumor has surfaced that Grey's Anatomy is considering whether to bring back Jeffrey Dean Morgan — a.k.a. Denny Duquette — to the show! Touchstone TV, ABC's sister studio that produces the popular drama, wouldn't confirm or deny, but the story floating around Hollywood is that creator Shonda Rhimes is trying to keep Morgan in the family now that her new drama about war correspondents — which Morgan was set to star in — was put on the back burner by ABC. Word is that Morgan — along with some other unusual characters from episodes past — will pop up sometime this month in a dream sequence imagined by one of the sexy interns. The rumor seems suspect; I mean, my GOD, the dude's character died of a heart attack last season! But it wouldn't be the first time that a TV show resuscitated a popular character (remember Patrick Duffy in Dallas?) And as a rabid fan of Grey's, I'm all for Morgan's return — to a point. His presence has gotta make sense, which means if the above scenario isn't real, he'd have to return as a long lost identical twin (I know, lame) or as an ever-present ghost in Izzie's life, a la Melina Kanakeredes' mom in Providence. Come on, readers — pretend you were Shonda. If you made the call, would you bring back Morgan? And if so, how?

jessica Sun, Nov 16, 2008 at 10:18 PM EST

It's TV; it's not real. Let Denny come back!

Tong Sun, Nov 16, 2008 at 12:05 AM EST

ok, if they do, honestly i will stop watching the show for good. let it be. he is dead! I never liked him anyway. let izzy move on. i could not even understand why would izzy fall in love with this guy anyway... let izzy off the hook! dont let denny come back in any form!!!!

non Sat, Nov 15, 2008 at 03:29 AM EST

the shark has been jumped

Izzy or Izn't he? Fri, Nov 14, 2008 at 02:17 AM EST

The show was called Grey's Anatomy, NOT Izzy's. I am so sick of these Izzy storylines. Bringing Denny back is lame and ridiculous. Let's give storylines to people who can act, not Heigl! Who needs Denny & Izzy when we now have Christina and McArmy!!!!!

Molly Thu, Nov 13, 2008 at 10:13 PM EST

BRING DENNY BACK!!!
we will overlook everything. Denny is Grey's Anatomy!

anne Fri, Mar 2, 2007 at 09:47 AM EST

do not bring denny back. i loved him to death, he was a great character but if a grey's ever wanted to jump the shark, this would be the moment. maybe in a dream or something like that, but nothing else.

muhini Sat, Feb 24, 2007 at 04:09 AM EST

Bring Denny back. Seriously.

a person Wed, Feb 14, 2007 at 07:41 PM EST

Dude, this guy died, like, three times in one year. He's doing a major service to the body bag industry.

I think for maybe one episode, in a dream sequence, it would be okay... but as a regular would be silly.

But I heard rumors JDM be showing up again on Supernatural (awesome show, if you're into action!comedy!family drama!urban-fantasy!) Yay!

Brandy Mon, Feb 12, 2007 at 02:59 PM EST

Kristin at E! said that she knows exactly how he comes back and said this:

Denny does not appear in a flashback.
Denny does not appear in a dream.
It is Denny and not something kooky like his twin.
Denny is not the only one we see.

I've seen on other boards people theorizing that maybe Izzy has a near death experience and she sees Denny and he tells her that it's not her time and she needs to go back. That wouldn't be too crazy.

Lisa K Sun, Feb 11, 2007 at 10:05 PM EST

Maybe Izzy will wake up and this will all be a dream......I wish. I love Denny and was broken hearted when he died, but that's what makes this show so good. Besides JDM is doing some major movies now with some big name leading ladies, I don't think going back to Grey's is on his agenda anymore. Looks like we'll have to go see him on the big screen now.

jaya Sat, Feb 10, 2007 at 12:33 AM EST

not a dream, ghost or twin. hmmm. judging by the latest episode i'd say shonda'll be cranking up the drama to such an unbearable and disastrous level that it'll be easy for the audience to buy into the 3-parter's monumental twist: meredith, GA's central consciousness and narrator, has been dreaming season 3 as we've seen it thus far. she's probably comatose (from the bomb episode) or whatever, and upon snapping out we'll see (GA unfolds through her eyes, after all)our dear denny still living!

Becca Fri, Feb 9, 2007 at 02:32 PM EST

The first thing that came to my mind when I heard this was, "Oh-noooo, Grey's is about to jump the shark!" However, I think that writers on this show are smart enough to have thought about all of this and I think Denny will be back, but I'm confident they will have it fit into the show. It's a hit show for a reason, I don't think they'll spoil it with somethign completely cheesy.

Linda Thu, Feb 8, 2007 at 09:11 PM EST

Actually it would be possible to bring Denny back by just saying that he wasn't really dead. It happened on CSI a guy they were begining an autopsy on began to bleed and they had to rush him to the hospital. I don't know how long Denny was supposed to be in the morgue before the funeral home came to get him but if it wasn't long he could have revived on his own. I have heard stories of people sitting up in their own coffins at the funeral because they were comatose not dead. So there are real possiblities for Denny alive again.

mgm Thu, Feb 8, 2007 at 04:56 PM EST

he's cute and did a great job. I wouldlove to see him back on the show, but HE DIED, PEOPLE!! coming back as John Dow may work, specially being married with kids and very much unreachable for Izzy. Perhaps a shrink? not another medical doctor...

Jackie Thu, Feb 8, 2007 at 04:18 PM EST

Maybe... The psychiatrist is there treating Izzie because she thinks she killed Denny... but he is still alive!!!

RBlues Thu, Feb 8, 2007 at 03:28 PM EST

I love JDM!!! He's the dreamiest & steamiest.

He would have to come back as a TOTALLY different character and the physical similarity would just torment Izzy. Maybe he's the husband of a patient, or the broke, single father of a free-clinic patient. There are ways that it could work, but it can't be the "twin" or ghost--I don't think I would like that.

elizz Thu, Feb 8, 2007 at 03:22 PM EST

i much rather JDM come back as John Winchester on Supernatural. more possibilities within the show for a comeback, and more interesting character interactions if his character did come back.

sandra Thu, Feb 8, 2007 at 02:10 PM EST

I don't care what excuse they use Jeffrey Dean Morgan was in my opinion the highlight of season two and I cursed the show for killing him but went out and bought the DVD so I could watch his scenes over and over again. Shonda Rhimes is a briliant woman I am sure she can find some creative way to bring him back into our lives ( even if it isn't as Denny). Please bring JDM back to us I beg of you!!!!!

Cdn.Izzy Thu, Feb 8, 2007 at 01:31 PM EST

No one could possible love Denny more than I do, BUT as much as I would love to see Jeffrey Dean Morgan, it would totally compromise the integrity of the show.

Sarah Thu, Feb 8, 2007 at 12:27 PM EST

I think that the story line of them bringing him back as, like, a twin or something like that would be believable...like, have "denny" make a video message for his twin bro to find Izzy Stephens and take care of her. But as for bringing Denny himself back, no, that wouldn't work at all. The show would sink. They are good Docs, but they ain't THAT good.

On a different note, I did have a dream the other night that I was on GA as Sheppard's illegitamate daughter....so..there's an idea. lol

Shalome Thu, Feb 8, 2007 at 11:48 AM EST

It would make no sense to bring him back. Resurrecting a dead character would be completely unrealistic within the parameters of the show. But anything could happen on Supernatural...when will we get to see evil zombie JDM?

Amber Frerichs Thu, Feb 8, 2007 at 11:39 AM EST

I think it would be wonderful to bring Morgan back I would love to have him back. But also when they brought Patrick back from Dallas they just made it all just a dream...So, why can't they do that with Morgan? I hope they do bring him back.

K Thu, Feb 8, 2007 at 11:09 AM EST

I'd rather him come back to Supernatural.

Conor O'Brien Thu, Feb 8, 2007 at 10:57 AM EST

I see 'Jump the Shark' all over that idea!!

Ms Daisy Thu, Feb 8, 2007 at 10:28 AM EST

I agree with Steven, he'd have to come in as a completely new character...maybe one that looks like Denny, but acts more like McSteamy. Izzie would find herself attracted and repulsed by him all at the same time.

Natacha Thu, Feb 8, 2007 at 10:26 AM EST

don't bring him back. if they do, that would be the jump the shark moment which I DON'T want. Forget the idea.

Amy Thu, Feb 8, 2007 at 10:07 AM EST

Haven't you all heard of his twin bro Lenny Duquette?

Keith Thu, Feb 8, 2007 at 10:06 AM EST

They should bring Denny back any way they can. He's the reason I and several people started watching the show. And we've all been hooked ever since. The Izzy/Denny storyline is what sent the show into the stratosphere.

roel Thu, Feb 8, 2007 at 10:04 AM EST

maybe flashbacks or eps leading up to him in the hospital. but then that would involve bailey, not izzy, right?

southmoutainhd Thu, Feb 8, 2007 at 09:43 AM EST

What if Izzy received a videotape from Denny's dad in the mail - a montage of Denny's life copies from home movies... and a message that Denny had recorded for her before he died but after he named her in his will. Telling her that he loved her, was proud of her, and knew that she would put the $8.7M dollars to good use. It will come at a time when she is frustrated with the lack of patients in the clinic and will be contemplating her decision to spend all that money on the clinic. She will be redeemed and Denny will tell her to "move on with your life after I am gone".

jeet Thu, Feb 8, 2007 at 08:38 AM EST

You mean that he would be the Six to Izzy's Baltar?

jeet Thu, Feb 8, 2007 at 08:34 AM EST

You mean that he would be the Six to Izzy's Baltar?

Eva Thu, Feb 8, 2007 at 08:29 AM EST

No, No, No, No, No

Roman Wed, Feb 7, 2007 at 11:55 PM EST

No, because that would take Grey's to incredibly lame place where it shouldn't even consider venturing. I hate when shows do that, and the only show that ever did it without me getting hella annoyed was Veronica Mars with the murdered Lilly Kane.

al Wed, Feb 7, 2007 at 11:23 PM EST

we've seen enough of the happenstances, coincidences and craziness to know that the realism of grey's anatomy rests not so much on the credibility of its plots and events as on the truthfulness of its emotional and dramatic connections with its viewers. GA has done a few flashbacks already, and so jeffrey dean morgan's return could happen this way--although i wonder what its ultimate purpose might be, since it can't really amount to anything dramatically new plotwise, given the frame of season two's harrowing heartbreak. on the other hand, short of having him come back as denny's twin brother (soapish, true, but doable), it's entirely possible someone out there exists who bears a striking resemblance to him (i've seen this now and then: i'd bump into people inside a mall who look like long-lost friends from high school). jdm returning as another character is a challenging task for shonda, but it is a very interesting idea, but he'll need to morph as differently from denny as possible.

Lene Wed, Feb 7, 2007 at 10:50 PM EST

Much as I want Denny back, he can't come back - him dying was so authentic and worked so well that bringing him back, even as a different character, would be... challenging. Although, the idea of him being a different, very annoying man, might work, but still. Nah. ABC needs to get on the ball with the show about war correspondents - he'd be amazing in soemthing like that.

fredric Wed, Feb 7, 2007 at 10:48 PM EST

why all the Izzy hate? she's the reason why it's been so good - emmy nomination and all to prove it!

tiff Wed, Feb 7, 2007 at 10:06 PM EST

He should definitely come back on the show...he's so hot...I don't know how he should, but I fell in love with him like Izzie did, he's just so mesmerizing, even as he was dying. Yum!

Mozz Wed, Feb 7, 2007 at 09:47 PM EST

Bringing back Morgan would be followed by me quickly switching to another channel. cause I see this shark circling ready to make that jump, and I don't wanna see it when it Jaws it way into this show.

Andrew Wed, Feb 7, 2007 at 09:44 PM EST

I can handle a lot of crazy things, but no. Not ever should they do something like that.

Rebekah Wed, Feb 7, 2007 at 08:39 PM EST

Bring Jeffrey Dean Morgan back. I love him! I know is almost a "Jump the Shark" thing, but it will be worth it. Do it!

Gretchen Weiners Wed, Feb 7, 2007 at 08:36 PM EST

shark out... jumping over... nooooo

fredo Wed, Feb 7, 2007 at 08:32 PM EST

do not bring him back, the guy was annoying as hell and the whole cashing of the check debate was really boring. I feel sorry for Katherine for having to deal with such a lame and looooong story line.

Esther Kustanowitz Wed, Feb 7, 2007 at 08:13 PM EST

JDM also died on Weeds. Man, that guy can't catch a break, for all his hotness. I'm sensing a Felicity scenario--casting a spell to go back and erase everything that happened so Izzy can make different choices.

Ed Wed, Feb 7, 2007 at 08:11 PM EST

Denny was that - BUT NOT ALL THAT!

The bigger question is, why do the powers that be at the networks give producers of successful shows more shows to write? This only sucks the creativity out of the original. Take Marc Cherry for Desperate Housewives, season 2 SUCKED becuase he was given some other opportunities. Now he's back trying to revive a failing show.

Let Shonda concentrate on one show and one show only.

juella guadalupe Wed, Feb 7, 2007 at 07:53 PM EST

NO NO NO.. Denny needs to stay dead. The only thing that would be worth it would be to see him come back and whisk Izzy hack to wherever he is from. It would be a relief. The annoyingness of post-Denny Izzy and the whole "poor me. I have to deposit 8.7 million dollars or I can't be a doctor again"..Let's focus more on Alex Karev. Not much attention has been given to him during this whole season. He should be given a shot in the spotlight.

Chris Wed, Feb 7, 2007 at 07:41 PM EST

Absolutely he should enter the storyline as a complete jerk who looks so much like Denny that Izzy is consumed with transferrence--you like someone just because they remind you of someone--and eventually, he is so offensive that everyone will forget that they ever liked Denny at all.

kevin Wed, Feb 7, 2007 at 07:19 PM EST

I loved Denny, but he had to die. The storyline just would not have been right if he didn't! They can't revive him or bring in a twin because besides being completely corny, lame, and jump-the-shark-worthy, it would ruin the awesome scene in the season finale with Izzie huggin him on his bed, and ruin the whole first half of the third season since many of the plots revolved around his death! If you're gonna bring him back at least let it be in a dream since that would be the least ridiculous storyline!

bo Wed, Feb 7, 2007 at 07:17 PM EST

I got it! He's a different guy who resembles Denny, but is actually an Eminem-esque rapper. His name ? "Dunny" Duquette.

marc Wed, Feb 7, 2007 at 07:05 PM EST

thanks, katlou

Jill Wed, Feb 7, 2007 at 06:55 PM EST

I've gotta say, I like the idea of him coming back as a totally new character. New hairstyle, different accent AND a way to make Izzie go crazier than she is.

Don't like ghosts, long lost twins or anything like that.

Tina Wed, Feb 7, 2007 at 06:51 PM EST

Denny was an awful character with a draining and annoying storyline. I want Izzie to move on and not suck the fun out of the show. There should be no twins, visits from the great beyond or anything else. Keep JDM off the show!

lola Wed, Feb 7, 2007 at 06:46 PM EST

I hated him the first time around. If they bring him back, I will personally take him out. And not with a defibrilator.

Seriously, though, the show is completely unrealistic, but there's unrealistic and then there's RIDICULOUS. Denny's twin brother??? This is Grey's, not Ugly Betty (which is an awesome show, don't get me wrong.)

KS Wed, Feb 7, 2007 at 06:44 PM EST

Denny died, hope he stays that way and doesn't return in any form.

Mk Wed, Feb 7, 2007 at 06:39 PM EST

Wow, some of you commenters should go to work for Shonda. Cowboy boots and freezers - excellent. My unfunny O: I loved Denny, but keep him dead. No ghosts, cousins, worm holes or coincidences. Find the actor a show to star in as someone else.

katlou Wed, Feb 7, 2007 at 06:35 PM EST

Rolled, Marc, to fall. It's been rolled several times, actually.

jonbraun Wed, Feb 7, 2007 at 06:04 PM EST

kent.
amazing comment.

Jason from MI Wed, Feb 7, 2007 at 06:03 PM EST

Maybe Izzie kept him in the downstairs freezer? I mean, did you see a funeral? Maybe the box was empty!

jonbraun Wed, Feb 7, 2007 at 06:01 PM EST

The return of Denny Duquette would be a horrible scar on such a great show. His presence in the first place annoyed me to such a great extend that my girlfriend and I cheered as he went lifeless during "prom."
Grey's is a show about life and death. Bringing back a character (especially on a long term basis) that had a huge impact on the show due to his death would be the worst mistake Rhimes could make!
I only await the return of Chris O'Donnell as a cancer patient so that I can yet again cheer the demise of another annoying character.
DIE ROBIN, DIE!!!

marc Wed, Feb 7, 2007 at 05:59 PM EST

Katlou, thanks for the response. Not to be a pain, do you know if it's been rolled to next development season or will they shoot it this Summer, etc?

Stephanie Travitsky Wed, Feb 7, 2007 at 05:56 PM EST

Pat Duffy's comeback explination was that his wife dreamt the entire previous season. My guess is that Shonda will do the following:
a)Denny will resurface in Izzies dreams
b) the classic soap opera explination: Denny has an unknown identical twin brother...or Denny's father forgot that he made a deposit in a sperm bank and he has a son that he never met.

SteveS Wed, Feb 7, 2007 at 05:52 PM EST

NOOOOO!

Grey's is too good a show to pull this type of lame plot twist! Even a twin would be too hokey and beneath the quality of the writing. Denny's time is over and he need to stay dead.

The only way this would work for me would be to have Izzy go insane and start seeing Denny all the time. Then, she could be committed to the psych ward to work out her issues surrounding his death when she finally has her big breakthrough and JDM would have to leave the show again, permanently!

katlou Wed, Feb 7, 2007 at 05:49 PM EST

Postponed, Marc.

Marc Wed, Feb 7, 2007 at 05:38 PM EST

This is for Lynette Rice, (or if any one else posting knows, feel free to answer): Do you know if the other Shonda Rimes show starring JD Morgan is dead, or just postponed?

Wed, Feb 7, 2007 at 05:36 PM EST

I'm all for bringing Denny (or at least some form of him, be it a ghost, brother, etc.) if for no other reason than to perhaps see a kinder, gentler side of Izzie than we've been seeing in the last couple of episodes. For example, the way she's treating George and Callie is just cruel and unnecessary. However, I seriously doubt the veracity of these rumors, especially since bringing someone back from the dead on this show would be a shark-jumping of mythic proportions.

CH Wed, Feb 7, 2007 at 05:28 PM EST

I'm all for bring Jeff back to Greys.....but not as Denny......as someone who looks like Denny. Maybe a parametic with shorter hair and thicker scruff......and a totally diffrent personality. I bit more snarky and brash.....clashing with Izzie for a good while but while she is upset.....he is enjoying it. He likes her fire and conviction. Not mean but just a tease who likes getting a rise out of her.
I can totally see Jeff playing that part.

Francis Wed, Feb 7, 2007 at 05:27 PM EST

I hate the show. But why not revive Denny in flashbacks leading up to his stay at the hospital? And somehow, tie him to another overly dramatic happening.

Meagan Wed, Feb 7, 2007 at 05:27 PM EST

How about a "Supernatural"/"Grey's" superspecial crossover episode? Denny haunts the hospital, which leads Sam and Dean to hunt down the latest restless/vengeful spirit, only to discover - dun dun DUN - it's their DAD!

And then everyone wins at ratings. And hotness.

aa Wed, Feb 7, 2007 at 05:23 PM EST

i'm a rabid soap fan so i know all about suspension of disbelief but give me a break. i really enjoyed the character and wish that they hadn't killed him but they did. denny's dead and his ghost hangs over grey's plenty. do not bring him back.

viggolover1 Wed, Feb 7, 2007 at 05:15 PM EST

He should return as Danny's twin brother.

lilly Wed, Feb 7, 2007 at 05:11 PM EST

He should just show up and everyone should just continue as usual because its not really a big deal they thought he was dead, oh well. So everyone just goes with it and He and Addison end up making out at Joe's bar. Love triangle here we come!

Hannah Wed, Feb 7, 2007 at 05:07 PM EST

Dear Lord, could you take this one off my hands? Seriously. Amen.

Kent Wed, Feb 7, 2007 at 05:06 PM EST

Only if he comes back as Denny`s twin, who wears a cowboy hat, and makes you call him Denny 2

Laurie Wed, Feb 7, 2007 at 05:06 PM EST

JDM has a franchaise going if he can once again play another dead person. Weeds, Supernatural, now this. Let the man play a living person for once. Talk about wierd type casting. Let Denny lay peacefully in his grave and let Izzie move on. I can't stand watching her mope for 6 more months.

Ben Wed, Feb 7, 2007 at 05:05 PM EST

As much as I liked the plot line of Denny and Izzie I am going to have to say no way to this rumor! I mean how hokey would that be to bring him in a ghost or even a twin! I mean come on! SERIOUSLY?! If you liked him so much you should have killed him off!!

Steve Wed, Feb 7, 2007 at 05:03 PM EST

I think it would be great to bring back Denny, so then everyone can see how lame this show is. I had to suffer through every episode he was in with Izzy because my wife DVR's it every week. Maybe they can bring him back if it somehow kills off Izzy and her whiny, annoying character. "Boohoo, the guy I hung out with for 2 weeks and died gave me $8.7 Million. I'm going to overact and think I have more problems then everyone else." Keep up the good work!

Elizabeth Wed, Feb 7, 2007 at 05:01 PM EST

If they were that enamored with him then they shouldn't have killed him off in the first place. So, my vote would be no thanks.

mike Wed, Feb 7, 2007 at 04:58 PM EST

I'm with you,Vicki. I watch Supernatural and not Grey's which puts me in a very select minority. John Winchester could easily come back from the dead.

Kaybar Wed, Feb 7, 2007 at 04:55 PM EST

Bringing Denny back would just give me another reason to hate Izzie. The only halfway decent suggestion I've read on these posts is the one about bringing the actor back as a character who "looks" like Denny. Even that sounds lame, though.

Dan Wed, Feb 7, 2007 at 04:53 PM EST

Denny was a fantastic character whilst he was there but when you kill a character off they are dead and shouldn't really come back. I liked Denny but i'm saying keep him out.

Vicky Wed, Feb 7, 2007 at 04:53 PM EST

Oh if ghosts are the topic, you must be talking about Jeffery Dean Morgan on Supernatural. Yeah? Anyone? No I guess not. Grey's Anatomy does not need any ghosts floating around. If you're going to bring him back, do a flashback of some kind. Otherwise he needs to stay away.

lilly Wed, Feb 7, 2007 at 04:49 PM EST

maybe they can clone Denny and keep several on hand for any future problems.

Christopher Wed, Feb 7, 2007 at 04:48 PM EST

I wouldn't mind if they did it ambiguous as to whether or not Izzy is seeing Denny's ghost or just imagining it. I would especially like it if we never saw his face, or got a clear shot of him... and every time she turns to face him, he goes away.

Amber Wed, Feb 7, 2007 at 04:48 PM EST

No No NO a thousand times no! I liked Denny and I like him as an actor but it would be too hokey!

Robert Wed, Feb 7, 2007 at 04:44 PM EST

Part of me wants them to bring him back just so that he can die again.

MelB Wed, Feb 7, 2007 at 04:42 PM EST

I HATED Denny, and the moment he died was a great one. Now, Izzy is even more annoying crying about him. If he comes back, in anyway, and that storyline doesn't die for good soon...I'll stop watching. It's not keeping my interest much now, anyway, that storyline would drive me away for good.

Nita Wed, Feb 7, 2007 at 04:41 PM EST

no. it's a good enough show without him, so move on Shondra.

Steven Wed, Feb 7, 2007 at 04:38 PM EST

Why not have him come to the show as a different character (a new doctor at Seattle Grace) -- his resemblance to Denny, particularly for Izzy, makes it difficult at first for her to deal with him. There could be all kinds of interesting romantic difficulties that ensue -- she could find herself falling for him but have to learn that he's not Denny but his own person; or she could have to watch him dating other women.

paige celeste Wed, Feb 7, 2007 at 04:35 PM EST

What about doing it a la Hitchcock's 'Vertigo'? He faked his won death by removing the wires, so the lines on the heartbeat machine would go flat, then he changed his name and identity- including hair color- and Izzy would see him at some street and think she was hallucinating, and she'll become obsessed with him. Brilliant! They can maybe jump off of the Seattle needle if they really want to stay faithful to the storyline.

Spike Wed, Feb 7, 2007 at 04:32 PM EST

Who says he has to come back as the same character?

Casey Wed, Feb 7, 2007 at 04:32 PM EST

If they bring him back, they will have just lost a viewer.

lilly Wed, Feb 7, 2007 at 04:28 PM EST

I know he worked for the government in a top secret division and had to fake his death to throw off everybody..but he returns to reclaim his love at the risk of his own exposure
pretty sweet huh.

paige celeste Wed, Feb 7, 2007 at 04:25 PM EST

What about pulling a Patrick Swayze a la 'Ghost'? We can maybe have Whoopi Goldberg reprise her role. Or maybe Wanda Sykes? The clay pot-molding scene is totally optional.

Janean Wed, Feb 7, 2007 at 04:24 PM EST

I loved Denny, but I don't think there's any way to bring him back and have it not be stupid. If she can come up with a way that will work, then by all means...but I doubt it.

Ceballos Wed, Feb 7, 2007 at 04:21 PM EST

Yes! As an ever-present ghost! That's brilliant! And the best part it, it's never been done! Unless you count "Six Feet Under." And "Rescue Me." And "Nip/Tuck." (Should I keep going...is that enough?)

lilly Wed, Feb 7, 2007 at 04:20 PM EST

how about he strolls into the free clinic and says so this is what 8 million dollars can buy. it was all a test to see if Izzy would use the $$ for good. Lame I know but totally worth it to get that smile back and of course he hasn't shaved either. Bring him back SG needs more scrubbly cute guys!
Ooh or maybe he could be the new chief because like Willy Wonka he was in charge the entire time...only secretly.
Dang I should write for this show!

Don't bring him back.

Well seeing as how Izzy received that 8.7 million dollar check, a long-lost identical twin scenario seems unlikely, unless Denny's folks were really THAT loaded and could afford to have more millions saved down the pipe for their other son...I dunno, this entire idea sounds really fishy, but I think many would over-look the actor's return if a subtraction from the cast was made...here's looking at YOU again Isaiah Washington....

YES, i would bring denny back! but only because i loved the little bits of humor and heart he brought into the show even though he was sick and depressed. however, i dont think i want him to ever reunite with izzy again, because honestly, i was so ready to have izzy get over her mopeyness and start over. maybe he can be totally different from denny and not be attracted to izzy? hahaaha
