Trailer Blazer: 'Bee Movie,' 'Evan Almighty,' 'Tenacious D in the Pick of Destiny'

152429__bee_l Bee Movie (Nov. 2, 2007): Jerry Seinfeld and Chris Rock play bugs on a windshield in a movie-within-a-movie. Come again? This trailer is brilliant. It's actually one long clip instead of a chopped-up trailer, and each time I watch it I find something new to cackle at -- namely, every cut to Eddie Izzard as the alternatingly indifferent and masochistic director.

Evan Almighty (June 22, 2007): Steve Carell's anchorman character from Bruce Almighty, Evan Baxter, has to build an ark because God (obviously Morgan Freeman) tells him to. If seeing animals performing tasks usually relegated to humans doesn't freak you out like it does for me, see this movie!

Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny
(Nov. 22) Jack Black stars in yet another film involving him screeching into a microphone half the time. Black and Kyle Gass are clearly channeling Bill & Ted, but with special-er effects. I liked when they fell down a shaft in a giant Tetris-like container. Be sure to watch both trailers for the maximum "epic" experience.

I'd rather we avoid Evan Almighty in order to rid the world of Steve Carrell.

Please everybody, avoid the Tenacious D movie. Let's all band together to rid the world of Jack Black on screen.

The "Bee Movie" trailer was hilarious! I am still cracking up thinking about it days later!

1. "Evan Almighty" looks like it might be better than the first in the Almighty series. LOL I'm kidding...not about the movie, that does look funny, but if they really do have a series of these movies? Oh lord...
Also, I'm glad Jerry Seinfeld is doing something. Looks hilarious!

That trailer for Bee Movie is the most clever trailer for an animated movie I've ever seen. Its worth watching!

I'm hoping Evan Almighty does ok, but I read somewhere its budget is somewhere north of $175 million...how does this even happen...with a comedy??

Again, I love Carrell (Diwali song!), and hope this movie (which no one really asked for) is a success

Seinfeld and Chris Rock are AWESOME together. They did a 5 minute interview with Katie Couric back in 2001 that stands as one of my favorite moments on live tv. After Katie got on their cases for not donating more money to their own charity event, Chris said "you're rich too Katie. Why don't you donate them diamond earings you got on?" It was priceless.

Steve Carrell's more than triumphant return to the Office is a great reminder of why he's so well loved, and Evan Almighty, IMHO, will prove be his opus. That's right, I predict it will be even better than the laugh out loud 40 year old virgin.
