Move over, Linda Hamilton, there's a new Terminator-fightin' mom

144814__lena_l From the Dept. of There Are No New Ideas Anymore, Just Retreads Of Things That Were Already On Their 4th Sequel To Begin With, Fox has announced the casting for a new pilot called The Sarah Connor Chronicles: Lena Headley (pictured) will play, yes, Sarah Connor, the mother of Edward Furlong John Connor, who you all know better as "The Savior of the World, At Least According To the Terminator Movies." And together, Sarah and John will go about saving the world on a weekly basis, once baseball season is over, natch.

I'm not crazy about this idea, in case you couldn't already tell, but I've decided that since I most likely cannot beat them, I'm going to join them. Thus, I would like to officially pitch my idea for a new TV series, which will ideally find its home on HBO or Cinemax so that people can be naked and cuss, but I'm not picky:

(PS: Imagine this in that movie trailer guy's voice. Like in that Geico commercial or something. OK.)

The time is the present. The stakes couldn't be higher. A city has been overrun by the underworld, nefarious creatures haunting every corner. Hardworking everyday folks are scared to walk home alone. Children cry themselves to sleep every night. All the pets have run away. Only one man has the power to save this vast metropolis from certain demise. Only one man strikes fear into the hearts of the hardest criminals. Only one man has a really cool belt.

This fall, Jason Bateman is... Batman.

I think it'll be a big hit! But I don't think we've gotta stop there: What dead entertainment horses would you like to pitch for the small screen, PopWatchers?

I am sorry this lady is NOT Sarah Connor. After Linda Hamilton, it was too painful to watch. They should have just stopped after T2, the movie had a purpose, a philosophy, T3 was already an insult, the show now totally killed it.

The Shawshank Redemption: The Legend Continues

Starring David Duchovny as Andy Dufresne and
Mario Van Peebles as Red Redding

Follow the Epic Story Arc as Andy and Red battle the forces of nature that prohibit the restoration of his boat, while sinister rogue agents working for the Maine Department of Corrections hunt him down in search of Warden Norton's lost millions.

Watch the surprising plot twists as Captain Hadley (played by returning actor Clancy Brown) is put into Andy's old cell and discovers a ledger that was left behind, while, Heywood and Floyd (played by Neil Patrick Harris and Ernie Sabella) discover forbidden love and start a gang called The New Sisters.

It's like Prison Break meets Lost. :-D

You know, they used to do Shakespear'es plays over and over. That's why we know them today.

Not that Terminator is anything close to Shakespear.

I'm just sayin'.

Anywho, I'll give it a watch, most likely.

I'm still waiting for a live-action Jonny Quest.

Ep Sato, there's no way that anyone could do an Americanized version of my beloved Trailer Park Boys. One of the U.S. cable networks tried to run the original series and had to drop it due to complaints about its explicit content. If one of the big five networks tried to do a sanitized version, it would easily rank among the worst show in television history. Either show the original series in all its offensive glory or leave it alone!

I have no problem with taking a beloved franchise and putting it into serialized form on TV if it's done well. Why not? It's not different than comic books that continue storylines from movies and TV (see the Angel and Buffy series EW. We know you love them.).

That being said I don't really get the idea of a story taking place between T2 and T3. How can you have a Terminator show without Terminators and no sci-fi?

I could be wrong. Heck I was wrong about Smallville. I said "How can you have a Superman show without the outfit and flight?" But I that show became one of my favorites of all time.

So who knows?

I think Lake Bell would have made a better Sarah Connor.

A Flash Gordon 9 part mini series, based on DC comic's amazing 1989 retelling. It's got to be live action, with tons of cheesy and campy special effects, just like the 1983 version, with at least one shakespearian actor (I loved Timothy Dalton in the 1983 version)to throw off everything. I'd want it to be intentionally bad, but at the same time entertaining. Is it possible? Heck yeah, it's FLASH! Still not sure about whether or not to keep the Queen soundtrack.

Option two would be American versions of "Spaced" (about a guy and girl who are roomates. The original starred Simon Pegg from Saun of the Dead) and the high-larious "trailer Park boys" (about some Canadian dudes who end every season getting arrested).
