Suit up! It's Neil Patrick Harris' birthday!

94429__harris_l Let's all wish Neil Patrick Harris a legend -- wait for it, and I hope you're not lactose-intolerant -- dairy birthday. The actor, who seems to have finally escaped his Doogie Howser past with an image-obliterating cameo in Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle (warning: not work-safe) and his vicious portrayal of Barney on CBS' sophomore sitcom How I Met Your Mother, turns 33 today. And some slightly obsessed fans have put together highly amusing clip shows (here, here, and here) to pay him tribute. Enjoy!

Hey guys, he's totally gay. He's been an out actor for quite some time. It's pretty great!

Dawn Fri, Aug 18, 2006 at 08:39 PM EST

Please tell me he's NOT GAY! C'mon, he was so straight as Doogie!
He's still hot!

I walked out of Radio City Music Hall behind him last week at the Tonys and his boyfriend was at his side. He did have a guard with him who walked them to the stairs going to the after party and then left.

He is THIS old??!! WOW.
he is so cute in How I met your mother!

Pracca-
The lemon law is a concept that if you don't like something about a date within the first five minutes, you can declare "lemon law" and leave, no strings attached. Barney spent a whole episode trying to make this a new thing, and by the end of the show, he was lemon lawed on a date.

Most of you don't know it, but NPH also did a stint on Broadway playing the androgynous Emcee in "Cabaret." Look it up on the internet and find pictures. Now THAT was a pull away from Doogie, and it happened before "Harold and Kumar."

Those were awesome posting. The show would be horrible if it weren't for NPH. And if he's gay, then that's his deal about coming out. I can see why he wouldn't. Who want'to be pigeon-holed

pracca Thu, Jun 15, 2006 at 06:17 PM EST

What is the lemon law?

Maria Thu, Jun 15, 2006 at 02:38 PM EST

Ahhh, NPH, my first crush. Glad to see he turned out so well.

To me, that cameo in Harold and Kumar was out of site! I think the character from "how I met your mother" is the same one he played in Harold and Kumar, but is still high-larious! Has anyone else applied the "lemon law" in dating? I've been wanting to for a while now...

I just wish he would come out of the closet already! He was ushered away from his boyfriend at the Tony's! I hate that about celebrityism.

Flick Thu, Jun 15, 2006 at 01:54 PM EST

"Stark Raving Mad" was genius! I think it was NPH best work before "How I Met..." and keep hoping for the DVD's.

Jayp Thu, Jun 15, 2006 at 01:52 PM EST

Loved Stark Raving Mad! I thought I was the only one! Now when is that coming on DVD?

Liza Thu, Jun 15, 2006 at 12:55 PM EST

You forgot to mention how great was on Stark Raving Mad.
I'm probably one of the few who watched that show.

Poor Neil had to deal with Regis calling him "Neil Patrick Howser" yesterday. And Regis was serious.

Andi Thu, Jun 15, 2006 at 12:43 PM EST

I had a mad crush on Doogie when I was younger. I thought we would end up together since we share the same birthday. Happy Birthday NPH!

john Thu, Jun 15, 2006 at 12:24 PM EST

One week from today: It's Carson Daly's 33rd birthday!

Ed Thu, Jun 15, 2006 at 12:23 PM EST

Oh my God! Doogie is 33?! i didn't know he was the same age as I when I was getting beat up in jr. high. I think that his new piece of sh*t personality that he plays on H.I.M.Y.M is a better fit for him.
