92419__30rock_l This just in from the Department of Sitcom Preservation: NBC.com has posted a fairly lengthy preview of Tina Fey's new sitcom, 30 Rock, and it actually looks really funny. I won't spoil things by spilling details -- better for you to judge it yourself -- but I'll say this much: Punch lines involving Karl Rove, laptop computers, Jedi knights, and extra-strength diarrhea medication all made me laugh out loud. Of course, with Fey, Rachel Dratch, Tracy Morgan, and Alec Baldwin in the cast, they should have, right?

We lost Arrested Development and Everwood this year. And here I am excited about two more well written, intelligent new shows. 30 Rock and Studio 60 have gotten my hopes up. Maybe NBC is in such bad shape, they'll give these shows more than two weeks to be hits.

Tracey Morgan seems to be ripping off Eddie Murphy in Bowfinger completely. I have seen the pilot and all the funny stuff is in the promo. Bring on Studio 60.

LOVE Tina Fey, Rachel Dratch, and Alec Baldwin. Tracy Morgan I could do without, but I'll definitely try to fit this into my TV-watching schedule. Did I mention I love Tina Fey?

well, we don't watch to worry about Studio 60 conflicting with 24 for a while since 24 won't be back til January again.

hooray! something to look forward to after the bad summer of tv.

This show looks really funny and promising. I just hope the American Public, can see how funny it is. Becuz I know I found myself laughing a couple of times.

1.Tracy Morgan running in his undies in the middle of traffic.
2.The VP of microwves telling Tina Fey that she had the boldness of a much younger woman lol.
3.The juda priest dude asking the black guy is he the only "black nerd".

Yup if the American Public, can see the amazing funnyness(made up), this show has to offer, I dont see why it cant be a comedy hit with staying power.

TINA FEY FOR PRESIDENT!!!!!!!

I'm a SNL junkie from way back. I just saw previews of Studio 60 and 30 Rock. I'm excited about both. What I'm wondering about is the original. Last years SNL shows were wildly inconsistant with a huge unnecessary cast. Hopefully, this season, they will streamline the show and let the new cast members carry the load.

Tina Fey has been the only good thing on SNL these last few years, so I'm definitely going to give this a try. The only two comedies I like right now are Everybody Hates Chris and Christine, so a third one would be cool.

But Sorkin's show is different from Fey's show. For starters isn't it an hourlong a drama on Monday nights at 9 now? Well I already watch 24 so I may DVR the 1st episode of Studio 60. I do hope Matt can be successful outside of Friends since he's hilarious and ridiculously underrated.

Fey is funny. I recently re-watched Mean Girls and thought it was funnier than the 1st time I saw it. She has skill as a writer and I hope she does well here. 30 Rock looks funnier than most of the dreck on TV. I hope it survives if it's good and not suffer like Arrested Development.

Does this mean that Tina Fey and Rachel Dratch are not goin got be on SNL next season? (Sorry if this has been discussed before - if so I must have missed it)

Looks great! Reminds me a lot of The Office, however. Alec Baldwin is an excellent comedic actor. "I like you. You have the boldness of a woman half your age."

Nicole Tue, Jun 13, 2006 at 11:30 AM EST

Wow - NBC is slowly moving up to the top again - first The Office and now Studio 60 and 30 Rock both look fantastic. Love that they've remembered that their viewers have brains.

julia Tue, Jun 13, 2006 at 11:25 AM EST

Very, very funny. By far the most promising promo I've seen in years. And boy does NBC need something other than another Law and Order show! We'll soon be seeing Law and Order: When Toddlers Kill.

Kat Tue, Jun 13, 2006 at 11:18 AM EST

heyyyyy that DOES look good! Crap, I don't have enough room in my television schedule for 30 Rock AND Studio 60, how am I going to decide? I feel I should support Tina Fey and womankind, so I think I'll go with this one (unless it conflicts with Lost, Gilmore, Veronica, or 24).

Doug Tue, Jun 13, 2006 at 11:16 AM EST

Looks OK. The preview for "Studio 60", however, look great!

Graeme Tue, Jun 13, 2006 at 11:03 AM EST

It looks alright. I'll wait to see a full episode to judge this one.
"Twenty Good Years" and "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip" look great.

Bruna Tue, Jun 13, 2006 at 10:42 AM EST

Pretty much like anything T.Fey does but are there any previews of Sorkin's show? How do they compare?

Stephanie Tue, Jun 13, 2006 at 10:24 AM EST

This really does look funny, but I hope that it is not cancelled like "Sports Night".
