Meet Prince Lorenzo Borghese, the new 'Bachelor'

May 16, 2006, 08:25 PM | by Scott Brown

Categories: 'The Bachelor'

162232__prince_l Now, I'm not even a gal, and the words "pet odor and breath products" get me all a-quiver. What chance, then, will the ladies of The Bachelor have against the charms of Prince Lorenzo Borghese, the latest man-prize to stem the rose for ABC?

Yes, he's a prince. It's not just his name. I don't know much about Italian royalty, but I do know his surname sounds delicious. I want to eat it with some fava beans and nice Chianti. But that might be because I've consumed nothing all day except a handful of dry-roasted peanuts and the Little Man trailer.

Anyway, the guy makes pet cosmetics. I guess someone has to do it. Pets aren't just going to stop tarting themselves up like little furry streetwalkers, no matter how many times you tell them they're pretty "just the way they are." So he's meeting a need, filling a niche. That's great. It'll make a great "third date" story. First date? Stick to the royalty angle and don't get into details. That's what I do, except I'm lying about the royalty part. (I did once convince this British girl I was the son of "the tire king of North Carolina.")

What do we think, folks? Is he sufficiently dreamy? Is a fortune built on dog mascara a turnoff? Is The Bachelor a creepy, regressive fertility rite? Give me your answers, do!

This Lorenzo boy must have had enough with women's attention. He has no intention of marrying and settling, and poor women do everything to get him.. get senses.. he only loves himself..by the way he might be gay

Raquel Mon, Nov 3, 2008 at 01:18 AM EST

It`s true he is incredible but I thinks he rejected a good girl, Agnese, only because she did not speak good English ,like me ajaja!I do not speak good English. Well, the fact is that he has italian roots, me too,and when I saw that I felt very bad because that is not a reason and more being a person with italian roots . why he did not try to learn italian ?? then he is not an Italian Prince! he reject his origin.
Well I am writting here only to express this because he will never read my opinion.
Have a good look Northamerican Prince!but take a moment to increase you love for your italian roots and try to find your origin which is in your blood!
The best,
Raquel

Hi! yeah I saw the last episode on NZ T.V the other night to! and um yeah i thinks its pretty old. Ya know NZ tv is behind! He's so dreamy though...mmm yummy!

Leanne Wed, Sep 12, 2007 at 02:11 PM EST

I saw that least episode on New Zealand TV last night, where he chose Jen.
How old was the program and are they still together? :)

Viktoria Tue, Sep 4, 2007 at 07:59 PM EST

I just wish , that somehow he would come back as The Bachelor , with girls who are on the same level with him , and finally find the wife for a life , and follow their life, as America's Royal Family ,hopefuly with beautiful children.

Galla (Sweden) Tue, Aug 28, 2007 at 04:41 PM EST

I saw the last 3 episodes of The Bachelor Rome and I really adored Lorenzo. I think he's cute and even love him more when I found out that he loves pet. I was just very upset when he chosed Jen over Sadie. Well, that's his choice and I really hope they're happy together. I wonder though why everybody is calling him Prince when Italy is a Republic and he doesn't even speaks Italian. But anyway, it doesn't matter really. I think he's adorable and seems very kind. I really wish him the best of luck, that he will find the right woman and live happily ever after and produce beautiful kids because he really deserves it. The woman he'll be marrying would be very very lucky. I really hope it would be me! Seriously speaking, it doesn't matter what, I am very happy just seeing him smile. It melts my heart and I know I'm not the only one who feels this way. I just know that I love him even if I couldn't have him. I'll be the luckiest woman on Earth if ever I would meet him someday.

Andrea Paolo Vladimir Nicolai Alexi Borbonne Orsini Mikhailovich Fri, May 11, 2007 at 05:47 PM EST

Presently, I am at my residence in Porto Cervo and friends and I turned the Sky Network on and viewed "The Bachelor" with Lorenzo Borghese. The young man can't speak Italian and yet you presented him as a Royal. First of all, the Borghese family is not Royality, it is a Family that has Roots of Nobility, based on the Old Papal Court. However, Papa Montini (Paul the VI) dissolved the Papal Nobilty in 1968, and no new Patents of Nobility have been issued to the former members of the Papal Court. Also, since Italy has been a Republic since 1946, the constitution dissolved all titles. Thus, he does not actually have a title. The most upsetting thing is,"he does not speak Italian." My friends and I realize that here in Italy we are viewing the show after it has already played in America; it truly is a comedy show for us in Italy. Good luck with your next show, be assured that I will not be viewing it. I saw this show only once and that is more then enough.

Victoria Thu, Apr 19, 2007 at 08:04 PM EST

Today I red somwhere on the web ,that Chris Harrison the Bachelor Host was not happy with Lorenzo Borghese last year! That is his problem not Lorenzo's.If anything was wrong with the show,it was with those unqualified girls! And the Doctor Bachelor has the same problem! I know that the show is over and He found his love,I can't hardly wait to see her, because none of them seems right for Him!

I read where Lorenzo found she likes to party. Well, she is 23 and he is 34. Just because she is having a good time doesn't necessarily mean she is a bad girl.

Kate Wed, Mar 14, 2007 at 10:40 AM EST

So now what does everyone think - Sadie & the Prince are no longer an item, according to the latest news on Lorenzo. There's bad press about her in this regard but what's her side of the story???

lola Wed, Feb 14, 2007 at 06:56 PM EST

I wish that you people would find something better to do with your lives than talk about a stupid prince from television...I mena, I loved Sadie, but after the show my life was not effected by the results...move on with your lives!!

Claire Sat, Feb 10, 2007 at 07:14 PM EST

Jen was a gorgeous, sweet, and down-to-earth young woman. Too bad it didn't work out for them. He's not dating Sadie but as with many of the girls from the show, they remain good friends.

Lorenzo is sincere, hard-working, and adorable. He's going to make some women a wonderful life partner. Sorry he didn't find her on the show.

Anne Sat, Feb 3, 2007 at 04:03 AM EST

I noticed some of the negative comments are from people who knew Loreno 16 years ago in High School???
I always have stated that if you judge people by how you remember them when you were in high school or college, you are very immature, haven't grown up and are in a time warp.
High School kids are kids and nothing but kids. They are not adults. Some people will remain kids all their life. It seems like a lot of the negative comments are from people who are still kids.
I don't know who Napoleon Dynomite is but you have to realize Lorenzo Borghese isn't an actor. I believe most people, unless acting is their business, will sound rather boring in any "show."
Often time people who have a lot of personalty are phonies and not very sincere. I prefer sincerity, integrity and decency over a GREAT PERSONALITY.

anne Sat, Feb 3, 2007 at 02:41 AM EST

Also he said the producers took pictures of him. He went along with whatever they asked. I have a feeling the above picture was one they took and probably he shouldn't have been so agreeable as it makes him look like a high school boy ready to go on a prom date, not a 34 year old man. Some of the salacious comments made earlier in this blog might have been in reaction to this picture.
Having a lot of hair on top does make a man look younger. Since I am 71 years of age, I can remember JFK. An issue was raised not only about his religion but about his age. Some people thought he was too young to be president. Teddy Roosevelt was the only president younger. After he won the nomination he had his barber to cut his hair on top shorter to make him look older.

anne Sat, Feb 3, 2007 at 02:35 AM EST

If you check rollins.edu,it will pull up a screen and on the right probe Lorenzo Borghese, then on the next screen probe the link at the bottom of the article. You can then see the introduction, speech, proclamation and question and answer section. Now the questions are not given but his answers to the questions are.
Again he has stated more than once that the Borghese are nobility not royalty. I would imagine it would be tiresome for him to correct people each time they make statememts or ask questions inferring he is royalty. He probably wants to be pleasant.
I think people will see a nice self effacting gentleman with a sense of humor.

Lisa Sun, Jan 28, 2007 at 01:11 AM EST

I saw Lorenzo at Disney World on Wednesday January 24th. They were taking his picture with Cinderella so I took one also and then a few more. A security guard walked over to me and asked me if I knew who he was and when I said "yes" he told me to keep still. Apparently they were doing some kind of promotion. Anyone heard anything about it? I will add that I did not see Jen or Sadie with him or anyone for that matter.

anne Thu, Jan 25, 2007 at 11:29 PM EST

I have read some of the ugly remarks and insinuations and I wonder if these people would dare make them if they had to give their actual full names. Got a lot of courage when you can be anonymous.
John the Preacher - Reading these comments it appears the girls like him a lot. I wonder when you say he only appeals to guys, you are telling on yourself.
Miller 91 - Did you make the team at all? If so, maybe that is why they have 3 winless seasons.

Kloe Thu, Jan 25, 2007 at 06:57 PM EST

He was at Rollins College last night. He says he and Sadie aren't together but she has moved to NYC. Also, Jenn got to keep the ring even though they broke up.

anne Wed, Jan 24, 2007 at 02:39 PM EST

I just read on another blog that Lorenzo Borghese spoke at Rollins College last night. He said when he was young, he started developing a stutter. Doctors told his parents to only speak English to him. Therefore the family spoke nothing but English for him. He said he took Italian in high school but had difficulty with it.

Viktoria Tue, Jan 23, 2007 at 07:53 PM EST

If He broke up with Jen /and I hope that He did/ He should take some time out,and wait till the right girl comes along.Hey Lorenzo do not chase love, instead concentrate on not to miss the "true" one!

We heard that he and Jen broke up, and he is now with Sadie who was my choice anyway. Any truth to this (from Kelly and Regis)?

JOANNE Sun, Jan 21, 2007 at 05:10 PM EST

who is the prince with? The papers says Jen has a boyfriend . hope the rock is safe,

TB Sun, Jan 21, 2007 at 05:38 AM EST

I loved this show and I thought he was great. I do feel that sometimes he was a bit 'murky' with the last 3 girls and also think that as an italian prince that he should speak the language, Angnesse was a true love and passion and would represent the Italians better. I also think that he chose and then switched proves that shows like this always can't work. I wish him the best though and still a fan of his and his family.

anne Tue, Jan 16, 2007 at 03:07 AM EST

I have never watched the show before. I usually don't watch the broadcast networks. I watch cable news, history channel, EWTN, Animal Planet and National GEo Channel.
However, my first reaction when I saw that he was going to be on this show was "Oh, he could really be setting himself up."
It's very possible he was warned and was very cautious. Don't forget the kissing and lying down with them that people saw, was under the cameras watchful eye.

Victoria Lantos Mon, Jan 15, 2007 at 10:54 PM EST

When the show started I tought that He'll find "LOVE", not only Love, or just love. From the beginning I was dissapointed, because none of the Girls had "CLASS" nor outstanding character,or sexepil, not to mention intelligence. So I was watching each episode because of him. Because at the end I came to the conclusion, that not finding his "LOVE" not even "Love"and worse not even "love" he gave the ring to the "lover".So I wrote a script for The Bechlor: Rome. Is anyone interested to read it? Maybe make a new series out of it?

Anne Sun, Jan 14, 2007 at 07:15 PM EST

There is a difference between someone being your ancestor and someone being
your direct ancestor.
Your multi great grandparents are your direct ancestors. However, your multi great uncles, aunts an distant cousins that have gone before you are
your ancestors but not your direct ancestors. Only way they can be your direct ancestor is in another family line they would be for instance your great great great great grandfather.
That can happen.
Even if you are a direct descendant of royalty many generations ago (even direct descendant of a king) that does not make you royalty.
However, the Borghese titles of Prince are due to the fact that they are Papal nobility and have nothing to do with royalty. A woman becomes a princess in the Papal nobility and in Italy only upon marrying a prince. Lorenoz's sister could only be a princess if she married a prince.
However, for publicist to "upgrade" this noble family to royalty denigrates the significance of this nobility.

Joanie Sat, Jan 13, 2007 at 01:42 PM EST

I was shocked Jen was in the final 3
as a teacher she can't even speak correctly...and her Dad Yuk..Sadie was my pick from the get-go..she has alot of class........

Anne Wed, Jan 10, 2007 at 05:32 PM EST

I want to correct my post of January 4. The title prince is for a reigning monarch, head of a noble family or a member or a royal OR highly noble family. I might add PR people don't know the difference and this probably applies to the people who put the biography on the HSN.Com
website.
Cardinal Scipione Borghese was a nephew, the son of Pope Paul's sister.
He took his mother's maiden name.
Cardinal Scipione's father was Franceso Caffarelli. Pope Paul had two brothers and the noble line began when he conveyed title of Marcoantonio Borghese who was the son of his brother Giovan Battista Borghese.
I have a feeling these people have nothing to do with the advertisement of publicist biographies and probably don't even read them.

Anne Thu, Jan 4, 2007 at 04:00 PM EST

A prince may be members of a royal family of a highly noble family, sharing their title with several relatives in similar position. Usually people of highly noble family are considered more important, you might say, than some royalty from petty kingdoms that existed a century or so ago.
The Borghese are a highly noble family. I understand the young man in question has said 2 or 3 times in interviews that that the Borghese is not a royal line but a noble line. They are in fact Papal nobility. Please don't confuse the name with the Borgias. Paul V conveyed a title on a nephew back in the 1600s. Some papal nobility can claim their family lines back to the Roman republic. As far as his title not being recognized any longer, I am not so sure. It was not conveyed by the Italian government. It was conveyed by the Papacy. When Garibaldi overthrew the Papal states and united Italy the last part of the 19th century he installed a member of the noble house of Savoy (Savoia) as the king of Italy. After two or three Kings Italy no longer recognized the titles of the Royal House of Savoia. The Borghese are not the Savoia.

krissie Tue, Jan 2, 2007 at 02:03 AM EST

Actually, insiders report that he and Jen spent the holidays together with family in Miami and New York, PRIVATELY! Sadie has moved on and is seeing someone else.

Johanna Sat, Dec 30, 2006 at 03:26 AM EST

Please get us an update on Lorenzo and his chosen girl.
Rumor has it that he is now dating the second runner up Sadie Murray. Is there any truth to this rumor? Inquiring minds want to know.

IwantmoreBor Fri, Dec 15, 2006 at 06:50 PM EST

Oh Puhleeze!IS it a crime to be average? Not that he is. He's dreamy. For everyone posting a critical comment about Lorenzo for having petty imperfections...here's a clue for you. Gasp. Logically he obviously should be perfect because of his birth rite, DUH! Get a grip. and FYI your comments make zero difference for all the energy they probably took you. All they are doing is making other posters wonder exactly how fstupid and how fugly YOU are and how many companies YOU own. Losers do the petty critique thing because it's their source of power and winners take the risks. Kudos to the PRINCE for taking risks in a world where putting your neck out just gives people a reason to put it in the guillotine!!! I challenge you guys to post your picture and let everyone look at your perfect eyebrows! While you're at it, put your life and family up to be rated and see how high you score! gawd

tom Fri, Dec 8, 2006 at 02:44 PM EST

The national enquirer is reporting he was caught making out with Jennifer's friend Dan!

meade Wed, Dec 6, 2006 at 04:06 PM EST

I am glad he did not pick Sadie--she was too good for him. I think he just wanted a "piece" and thats why Jen got the nod. Don't get me wrong I liked Jen also but I think she only won because of being "more available" I don't think it will end in marriage and that is good for Jen. Lorenzo is a BORE (and I think perhaps sexually confused)

R.C. Sat, Dec 2, 2006 at 06:19 PM EST

Well, it's been 5 days.. Did they break up yet???

Natalie Fri, Dec 1, 2006 at 01:29 AM EST

I found myself also hoping that Lorenzo would pick Sadie but when he didn't I was a bit relieved for her sake. I really hope she doesn't close up her heart. But is willing to keep it open and continue to hope for the right man. Lorenzo was definitely not him. I hope she meets someone who shares her faith.

Christie Beck Wed, Nov 29, 2006 at 05:12 PM EST

Come on who are we kidding? The only reason Lorenzo did not pick Sadie is because she was saving herself for marriage.. She was the much better choice however, Sadie should consider herself very lucky because if he was that torn between the two of them, then she didn't need him anyway..

Christie Beck Wed, Nov 29, 2006 at 05:12 PM EST

j lombardo Wed, Nov 29, 2006 at 03:51 PM EST

I was TOTALLY SHOCKED when Sadie was not picked!! she seem much more suited to him than "jen". Altho with jens dad being off the deep end??? and lorenzo's mother also being of "sound mind"???? Jen COULD be a better match. But I can guaranty that it won't last but a few months, and that he gives Sadie a call!!! possibly Lisa too! YOU WAIT!!!!

ginger Tue, Nov 28, 2006 at 07:00 PM EST

I can't stop laughing either.

Auberly Tue, Nov 28, 2006 at 01:42 PM EST

In the end, I'm glad he picked Jen. I liked Sadie soooooo much more, but Lorenzo's family was weird as hell, I didn't want Sadie to be a part of that messed up family...besides, I would not want my future mother-in-law to be reading my palms on the first day we meet! And I hope Lorenzo enjoys jen's crazy dad...he better treat her right, otherwise the dad might pull out that shotgun of his. So to Jen and lorenzo, you are a perfect match with your crazy relatives! And to sadie, you can do sooooo much better!

chris Tue, Nov 28, 2006 at 04:07 AM EST

Good Luck With That Mentally Deranged Father-In Law!!! You were thinking with your other HEAD. You already Screwed Jen!!!

soobee Tue, Nov 28, 2006 at 03:33 AM EST

Only saw the last show, but so glad he chose Jen! That Sadie was way too smug, thought she had it in the bag; I just loved seeing her face drop when he told her she wasn't the one.

Honestly, though - this show should be required viewing for all women, just to see how ridiculous it is to agonize over someone they barely know - especially when one of the things they do know is that he's seeing other women :)

WA Watcher Tue, Nov 28, 2006 at 01:51 AM EST

Hey Lorenzo...have fun with Jen's dad as your father-in-law. Sucker.

Randy Tue, Nov 28, 2006 at 12:07 AM EST

HUGE MISTAKE. Sadie was BY FAR the correct choice in every way possible. I think so much less of him than I did before. I picked Sadie from the very first show. This comes as a huge shock to me. What poor judgement.

anonymous Mon, Nov 27, 2006 at 10:17 PM EST

Ok, so if his dad immigrated to the US... became a naturalized citizen, he would have had to relinquish by law, any foreign titles - meaning that, Lorenzo's dad is no longer a prince, and neither is Lorenzo...

brittanylee Thu, Nov 23, 2006 at 04:02 PM EST

im from canada and have been introduced to lorenzo's royal treatment line through my dpg groomer and let me tell you his has created a amazing line for his dog spa line, i have been watching the bachelor and let me tell you he is yummy and respectful and i would be honored to meet him one day through his dog spa line as well as the woman that catches his heart one lucky woman to have a real man ..........

People change, i've been reading some of the posts, and they aren't very nice...'is it just jealousy?' I know Lorenzo as well, and am involved in a small way with his pet line since I am a groomer. I worked a tradeshow and sold his product line, which I believe in 100%, trust me when I say that he has put alot of work and research in this line. I think he is a great person, very nice, trusting and he deserves to find that someone special! I'm not familiar with the cosmetic line, i'm in Canada, and I guess we don't sell it out here, but i'm trying to help bring the petline out here. I couldn't be happier for him, and i'm priviledged to have been involved with him in a professional way and look forward to working with him in the future. Come on guys, take the gloves off, and say something nice about him even if you don't have anything nice to say, well then, maybe don't say anything at all! He has put his private life out there for the world to see, and I know he is a private person and I commend him for doing that...

Donna Wed, Nov 15, 2006 at 11:23 AM EST

If you went blind tomorrow and he went broke, would you still be interested? Think about it. Apparently I like "tools". Lorenzo seems to be a very sincere and honest guy. Peronality is EVERYTHING, therefore, he has EVERYTHING. E-mail me when you get tired of these "Princess" loser wannabes. Meeeyow@aol.com......no losers need write, just that one special "tool".....lol

Flor Tue, Nov 14, 2006 at 02:35 PM EST

Hello!
Well once one is out in the "entertainment" world every one is either categorized as gay or a lesbian specially being a handsome person like Lorenzo. Regardless, I think that Lorenzo is a wonderful person, he is like anyone else looking for his soul mate. I honestly thing that he dosen't mean to hurt any of the girls. Yet, I do believe that he should of chose Agnese, why not chose the road less taken! He could of learned italian and I am pretty sure that she would off learned english as well. She was courageous to go to the show knowing that language was going to be a barrier but she did it for love! (I hope :) My parents did it! Well I hope to see more of a "Normal" couples in this show.........like latinos/latinas/African American Bachelors/Bacheloretts........people that are "commoners" like little miss tushy put in on this show! Well for what is worth I hope that Lorenzo finds his soul mate or else email me! :) Wish you well! Bonna Fortuna!

HERE IS THE BORGHESE FAMILY HISTORY for you are curious;
The royal Borghese family dates back to the 1100s in Siena, Italy. Through the years, the Borgheses gained wealth and influence and became one of Italy’s most prominent families.

In 1605, Camillo Borghese became Pope Paul V. His son, Cardinal Scipione Borghese, completed the St. Peter’s Cathedral façade in Rome, along with sponsoring Bernini’s work, which is exhibited in the world-renowned Borghese Gallery in Rome.

Since the Borgheses owned large territories of land, several in the family were granted royal titles by Pope Paul V, including Prince of San Paolo, Prince of Sant’Angelo and Duke of Bomarzo. Basically, titles represented land and possession titles.

Over time, possessions and titles separated, either sold, given away or lost in battle. These days, the Borghese royal titles aren’t related to territories and property, but can be traced through the office of Araldica in Rome.

It was Princess Marcella Borghese who began the family beauty legacy. After marrying Prince Paolo Borghese in 1937, she began having her cosmetics specially made, mostly from all natural ingredients. When her children reached adulthood and she had more time, she turned it into a business, thus beginning the Borghese beauty legacy.

Today, HSN shoppers know the Borghese family from their high-end, luxurious bath and body products. Italian Bath & Body has won fans worldwide for its natural ingredients gathered from the Italian countryside. Princess Amanda Borghese and her son Prince Scipione draw upon their family’s long history in the beauty industry with their Italian Bath and Body lines Perlier and Elariia.

Princess Amanda married Prince Francesco Borghese in 1965. She had three children: Scipione, Ilaria and Lorenzo. She’s created a number of successful businesses and is active in several charities, including Habitat for Humanity, City Harvest and Saint Anthony’s Breadline for the Homeless. Princess Amanda considers her family, friends and grandchildren to be her biggest joys.

Prince Scipione “Skip” Borghese was born in Rome, Italy in 1967. At the age of six, he moved to Paris, France, before moving to the U.S. in 1978. In 1989, he joined the family business, making him the third generation of Borgheses in the beauty industry. In 2001, he married Katherine Melissa Long in the Borghese Chapel at Santa Maria Maggiore Church in Rome.

Skip’s little brother, Prince Lorenzo Borghese, has also made a foray into the bath and body world, but with a twist. Inspired by his beloved dog Belle, Lorenzo developed Royal Treatment Pet Spa products. Following family tradition, Lorenzo’s line is filled with natural, gentle, luxurious ingredients.

My guess is Lisa, hoever manipulative, will be picked because of her personality and marketing backgound which will be useful to the family business the same way Firestone used Jen (prior Bachelor)to promote their wines. Marriage? I doubt it. Reality TV is just TV!!!

I think Lorenzo is handsome & so cute! He's humble & sincere. He's really a Prince Charming. Agnese is not cute enough for him. He made a good decision. Sadie or Lisa should be a good choice.

Can anyone tell me what a "tool" is?

carla Tue, Oct 31, 2006 at 06:21 PM EST

Lorenzo! In just few months yoy may express yourself in italian language. In my opinion is your duty, considering your name! Agnese is perfect for you.Gorgeus and sincere. Buona fortuna,Lorenzo!

linda harris Tue, Oct 31, 2006 at 02:52 PM EST

ooooooooo, Lorenzo.....bad mood....
u and Agnese were made for each other....u could see that u were both falling in love...
ur intelligent, learn italian, it's not hard....better yet, teach her english....her family loved u and i think u really enjoyed them....
get her back....she is 'real'....the others r shallow, gold diggers....
pleeeeeeaaaaaaaase don't take one of them...
they can make a 'twist' in the show!!!

gia Tue, Oct 31, 2006 at 01:26 AM EST

I think he made a big mistake letting the Italian girl go, but that is just my opinion. I think he realized it, too, but a little too late. It would have been easier to learn Italian and to try to communicate rather than a constant fear of a shotgun at your back.

He is hot but it looks like hes on drugs sometimes.

allison Sat, Oct 28, 2006 at 12:18 PM EST

He is dreamy and soooooooooo sweet. I have a totally hot boyfriend, but this guy still gives me chills! Plus he loves animals. Oh! and that name...Lorenzo Borghese...oh my

KELLEY Fri, Oct 27, 2006 at 09:51 PM EST

I THINK LORENZO IS AN ABSOLUTE DOLL! YOU CAN TELL HE'S NOT ACTING FOR T.V. HE SEEMS VERY SINCERE AND REAL AND IT SHOWS THROUGH ON THE SHOW! GOOD LUCK LORENZO!!

stephanie v. Wed, Oct 25, 2006 at 08:54 PM EST

so... all along, i've been saying that this guy should be embarrassed to be on the show. but now i find he makes pet cosmetics, so i see he's way past caring what anyone thinks. he seems nice, but i'm fairly certain he's got a screw loose. definitely a bit of a tool, which is too bad because he is cute.

oh well. that's entertainment.

Ginn Wed, Oct 25, 2006 at 01:18 PM EST

I think Lorenzo is adorable, and knowing he loves animals should be a plus in anybodys book. I would date him not knowing about his family history or his fiancial status. What matters is who YOU are, not where you come from. Anyone who has a surplus of "things" i.e "money knows that...deep down inside;-)

katie bishop Mon, Oct 23, 2006 at 09:21 PM EST

I LOVE LORENZO!!!!!!!!! i dont care what anyone else says...hes adorable

Philipa Mon, Oct 23, 2006 at 12:12 AM EST

Why is it that I'm the only one who can see that Lorenzo is a tool... If you close your eyes and listen to just the audio - Lorenzo sounds exactly like Napoleon Dynomite.

He is NOT a good dresser at all! His clothing is disheveled or out of place or wrinkled. He is unable to have a decent flowing conversation with any of the girls. He just constantly repeats back what the girl says - like a parrot. It is obvious some of his lines are coached (i.e., the traditional Bachelor line "it's so hard to choose").

Prince Lorenzo Borghese is not Royalty; he's nobility. There's a big difference. He has the noble title of Prince, not the royal. Please don't be ignorant people and call him royalty.

Get Real Mon, Oct 16, 2006 at 07:46 PM EST

people, please...be nice. It is what it is. His family are truly italian royalty...his mother and father have the titles of,respectively, princess and prince. Why shouldn't lorenzo have the title of prince. I agree with the question of why reality t.v. but why not? Just because he grew up in new jersey doesn't mean he's not worthy.

Lit Student Thu, Oct 12, 2006 at 02:16 PM EST

Hey, This Lorenzo guy went to high school in New Jersey with my current High School English teacher. They used to hang out all the time in like 10th grade but have lost touch since. Apparently the area they grew up in was very wealthy and 50% of their graduating class went to Ivy League schools.

Fuzzy Tue, Oct 10, 2006 at 12:51 PM EST

This show is entertaining but I understand the complaints about the show;

ABC has pushed the Prince thing to far. If anyone thinks that because some distant relative had a title in a country that no longer recognizes a Monarchy then he is a bonifide Prince then you don't leave Nebraska much. As noted in the other comments this is a guy from a rich area of Jersey. The fact that he understands no Italian and I mean no Italian just goes to prove that he does not take the connection seriously and thus we should not either. Can you imagine the final rose goes out and then he takes his blushing bride back to NJ to sell pet products, she's not exactly following in the steps of Princess Di is she?

What I do know about him from the show, he flies a plane (cool), has rich parents (cool) and that’s it. At this point I find him quite ordinary, he’s OK looking, dresses well, he’s from NJ, seems to be in shape but his personality is a dime a dozen and I have yet to find anything special about him other than he is being built up by a TV show. His toasts and comments while bashful seem to show he can not believe his luck to be in this position. Actually I feel sorry for the guy as I am sure he used the Prince thing to get on the show only for ABC to set him up to look like an idiot and I am more than happy to give him a chance and hope that he impresses me more as time goes on. Part of me wants him to be an absolute tool, it makes it far more interesting to see if they can get a really interesting girl to fall in love with him all because of the surroundings.

So here's the fun part - what do we think will happen?

Needs to get rid of.........
the little socialite princess, makes me wonder how smart this guy is, from the very beginning she's been out of her tree. Look for her to marry someone of the same ilk and spend most of her time trying to mimic desperate housewives but in a nicer neighborhood.

Gina - the pouting one - fun sucker if I ever dated one.

Smutty gal - can't remember her name - cool girl to meet on spring break, horrible girl to go into a relationship with.

Will get rid of
The Italian girl - my guess is that Lorenzo is looking for a quiet little princess that will be easy to spend his days with, Sadie for example. The Italian is gone, to interesting to much effort for him.

If I could pick one for him
Lisa - seems like a cool lady other than her little relationship clock and getting a bit dragged into the politics of it all.
Jami - I like her, infact she's the only really amusing one so far, especially liked the fact she was teaching the Italian girl Americanisms.

What are other's predictions?

lorenzo Mon, Oct 9, 2006 at 08:19 PM EST

Im so confused in how an Italian Prince cant speak his native language. My names lorenzo lol

pet lover Sat, Oct 7, 2006 at 10:36 PM EST

He has nothing to do with the borghese cosmetics company. His grandmother sold it to Revlon in the 80's and it is now privately owned. You must have seen him selling his pet products on HSN because his family isn't involved with the borghese company at all today. So, it is a complete misdirection to have people think he's president of a huge company

gia Wed, Oct 4, 2006 at 08:31 AM EST

Thanks for clearing all that up. I feel so much better now.

Stacey Tue, Oct 3, 2006 at 10:40 PM EST

Gia,

Maybe you haven't been reading the other posts. Lorenzo doesn't live in Italy. He was born there, but he is a US citizen who moved to Connecticut when he was 5 years old (3 years old in some reports).

Your PRINCE LORENZO is a JERSEY BOY! He was raised in New Jersey. He's not some suave extravegant prince - he's a JERSEY BOY!!!!!!!!!!! He was raised in a mostly rich snooty Jewish community (Short Hills). Yes, I do remember he did take Italian in High School, but obviously it was not a passion of his.

I suppose ABC wanted to make Lorenzo appear to be some sophisticated foreign millionaire prince. The reality is that Lorenzo is an unsophisticated Jersey Boy with rich parents who funded his college education and his business pursuits (not that there is anything wrong with that)... But ABC has made Lorenzo look like a fool by bringing in these Italian speaking beauties (but it's all for ratings right???)

Of course, Lorenzo is getting a big boost because I'm sure his Pet body supply business will pick up as a result of his marketing ploy.

Giacchalina Tue, Oct 3, 2006 at 09:44 PM EST

I am just a little confused, I guess I never heard of Prince Lorenzo and may need to do a little more research, but how can he be an “Italian Prince” and can’t speak Italian very well — if at all? When the Italian girls came onto the show, it would have been extremely impressive to hear him communicate with them in their native language (with English subtitles, of course), after hearing the girls struggle so much to speak to him in English. After all, they are in ROME. If ABC really wanted to have some suave guy to use romantic Rome as the next “Bachelor’s Backdrop”, there are tons of successful first generation Italian/American men who at least can speak the language and even look more the part. I am sure Prince Lorenzo is a great guy, he is cute, and of course, the money will always attract gorgeous women, but to portray a handsome Italian Prince living in Italy and not even able to speak the language very well is really puzzling me. Is it just me??? I am not trying to be mean, I am just a little thrown off.

Stacey Tue, Oct 3, 2006 at 08:13 PM EST

I am not Pomfret alum and I know Lorenzo. He may appear to be legit and a nice guy to someone who does not know him - or even to a few people who for some reason "click" with him. The truth however has already been revealed in the show (if you watch it). He is a total tool, he has no couth, he has no confidence, he is not that bright and he lacks any sort of tangible personality. If his parents did not have money, he'ld be the classic Napoleon Dynomite.

Pomfret Alum Tue, Oct 3, 2006 at 05:24 PM EST

Ria,

It's sad to see a Pomfret alum has amounted to nothing more than caddy message-board gossiping in her (undoubtedly tent-sized) underpanties.

Get a life. Maybe you should return to Pomfret and see if the full time kitchen crew is hiring. Loser.

Jason K Tue, Oct 3, 2006 at 12:35 PM EST

Ambrosia, Did you go to school with Lorenzo? I think not. You know not of what you speak.
