A lot of the background actors bear some resemblance to a main character. I suspect many of these are stunt men/body doubles.

I think he's referring to the woman behind Emilie, but, to be honest, she doesn't look that hot.

But, I did always like the way they would joke, tongue-in-check, about "Steve" and "Scott" and never knowing the difference (when they never showed anyway).

I don't mind that there are an expendible group of "others" that we don't know much about until one of them dies or becomes important. There are already enough characters to keep track of (and who don't get enough screen time). I just hope they don't ever try any type of stunt casting.

I love "Lost," but the background cast members movement smacks of "Love Boat" to me. Remember when the main cast would only talk to the main "B" celebrities as they left the ship?

Yes, I suddenly noticed how demographically-diverse (how's that for a euphemism?) the background actors were. And that, in some cases, the producers had hired some rather attractive extras, you know, just in case.

At least the show's producers have been upfront about the fact that they do have additional bodies which to kill or promote to full castmembers.
