92016__sandy_l -Following her turn as Harper Lee in Infamous (the forthcoming second Truman Capote biopic), Sandra Bullock (pictured) will play another real-life writer. She's starring in a biopic of Peyton Place author Grace Metalious, whose dirt-dishing novel scandalized her suburban neighbors and ruined her life. Writing the screenplay is Running on Empty screenwriter Naomi Foner (a.k.a. Jake and Maggie Gyllenhaal's mom).

-Tom Hanks and son Colin are attached to costar in magician comedy The Great Buck Howard. Kevin Kline, who appeared in Orange County with Colin Hanks, may climb aboard as well.

-Juliette Binoche will play a woman loved by sibling rivals Steve Carell and Dane Cook in romantic comedy Dan in Real Life.

-Crouching Tiger: The Musical? The Weinsteins have purchased the stage rights to the martial-arts tale, as well as the movie rights to the other four novels in the Crane -- Iron series (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon was the fourth of the five books) by Chinese author Wang Du Lu.

-Oscar nominee Ken Watanabe (The Last Samurai) will star in Clint Eastwood's Red Sun, Black Sand, the director's companion piece to his forthcoming Iwo Jima drama Flags of Our Fathers, telling the story of the same battle from the Japanese point of view. Both films were co-written by Crash Oscar winner (and Eastwood's Million Dollar Baby scribe) Paul Haggis.

-Another Oscar nominee, Catalina Sandino Moreno, (Maria Full of Grace) will star in Spanish period drama The Heart of the Earth, a tragedy about a 19th-century strike that was the first ecological protest.

Sandra Bullock is a dull actress, all of her movies are dull, and I sure her upcoming project will be just as dull.

Colin Hanks is a terrible actor, even if he is Tom's son. In fact, I am sure that is the only reason he gets roles.

what is wrong with Sandra Bullock's hairline in that picture? weird.

wow. Clint Eastwood and Paul Haggis (Million Dollar Baby, Crash) are teaming up for Red Sun, Black Sand. very valuable information, actually. that's one film i definitely won't be seeing...

I like Sandra Bullock. VERY smart move to stear her career away from romantic comedies and aim towards drama as she gets older because one can't play the cutesie girl forever. After seeing her in Crash, I think she has the goods to do drama.

I love Sandra Bullock and it seems like it will be a good role for her.

Dane Cook's like Steve Carrell was a few years back. He's really funny and has great high-larious cameos, but it seems like no one knows who he is. I can't wait to see these two get together.

I'm excited to see Catalina Sandino Moreno back in movies. She was great in "Maria Full of Grace" and I'd like to see her again.

I'm also interested in "Red Sun, Black Sand." I just hope both sides are told objectively. It'll be nice to see a war movie that doesn't excessively praise the American side, while Snidly Whiplash-ing the other side. Yes, Ridley Scott, I'm looking at you.

Crouching Tiger the musical? Sounds pretty cool actually.
