The softer side of Xtina

Sorry for blowing my nose and drying my eyes while blogging, but I just saw an ad for NBC's upcoming feel-good reality series, Three Wishes, the one where singer Amy Grant and a team of super-nice people play Aladdin to deserving folks across the nation. If you weren't sobbing too loudly, you may have noticed the distinctive voice of Christina Aguilera in the background. While ''Genie in a Bottle'' might've seem like a shoo-in to promote Three Wishes, it's ''Soar,'' the best single Xtina never released, that gets the nod. (You can find it on Stripped, right alongside that other ascendant ditty, ''Dirrty.'')

Which raises the question: Which ballad is most likely to make you reach for the Kleenex? Weigh in now. We can't have this discussion, um, ''Without You.''

"Because of You" by Kelly Clarkson gets me every time. So does "Whiskey Lullaby" and "Dance With My Father" - both the Luther Vandross version, his music video for it, and the Kelley Coffey country version. (Sounds great with a female singer)

I always cry at Johnny Cash's remake of "Hurt." I also get teary eyed at the re-make of Dolly Parton's "Jolene" (can't remember the singer, I think it's Mindy something). Fiona Apple's "Limp" also stirs up the tears.

I totally agree with Stephen and Natazma. That Kelly Clarkson song, Because of You, is amazing. One of the best tracks on the cd.

For really tear-inducing tunes, you can't do better (or in some cases, worse) than country music. Brad Paisley and Allison Krause's 'Whiskey Lullaby' gets me every time.

Completly agree. Saw Kelly in concert and she said that it was going to be here next single after Behind These Hazel Eyes. Because of You is easily the best ballad since Whitney Houston.

"Because of You" by Kelly Clarkson; completely heart wrenching.
