Darrell Hammond would be awesome and I hear before his death Rodney considered Darrell his top choice to play him.

How about Brad "Everybody Loves Raymond" Garrett? He has the comic timing and acting chops to pull it off. Did a great job playing Jackie Gleason. I think he'd be terrific.

PSH would be a good choice to play Rodney. John Goodman is way to fat to play him. Are you crazy? The best choice to play Rodney? How about Darrell Hammond from SNL....

I think John Goodman would be much more adept at capturing Rodney Dangerfield's character.

Yes, yes, YES! Philip Seymour Hoffman can do anything. He's one of the greatest actors living right now . . . . totally underrated. He would be great as Rodney Dangerfield. Actually, he'd be great at anything. How bout in a bio of Richard Burton?
