Anastacia gets 'Fantastic Four' assist

American diva Anastacia, who's suffered a ''big in Europe'' curse, is making yet another attempt to conquer her home turf -- and this time she'll have superheroes on her side. For ''Everything Burns,'' the first single from the Fantastic Four soundtrack, Anastacia paired up with former Evanescence guitarist Ben Moody, continuing to move toward the harder-edged rock sound she unveiled on her self-titled third disc (which was the second-biggest seller in Europe in 2004).

So how come nobody's heard Anastacia stateside? Well, when Daylight/Columbia dropped the album's first single, ''Left Outside Alone,'' in May 2004, the inexplicable lack of buzz prompted them to push off the full album's release date for a good 15 months. The CD is now scheduled to hit stores August 30, backed by a massive publicity blitz.

Will the third time be the charm for the bespectacled diva? Check out the new video for ''Everything Burns,'' and let us know what you think.

I live in the UK, and we have had Anastacia over here for a couple of years (obviously with a year long break in between when she suffered from breast cancer). I think that it is a travesty that you have not experienced her soul, sass and glamour like we have. She is an amazing talent, and so much better than the Jessica-Ashley Simpson type wannabes that seem to constantly top the charts over in America.

I hoep that you welcome Anastacia with open arms just as UK and the rest of Europe has. I also went to her tour when she was in Birmingham last November, and it was the best concert I have been to. She blew off the roof and undoubtebly sang live!

I went to the concert in Holland in the “Gelre Dome”. It really ROCKS!!! The roof was lifted up a little bit. Anastacia is a great person and very good performer. The song “Heavy on my heart” did really do something to your heart. So have fun to all of you that is going to see her on “The Encore Tour”. You’re going to like it: IT IS COOL!

Well it's about damn time! After getting my hands on a copy of "Anastacia" several months ago I have not been able to stop playing it. It's a travesty that someone with such an incredibly souful, distinctive singing voice has been completely ignored by American radio. Why must we listen to one cookie cutter wannabe diva after another when Anastacia is the fiercest diva of them all?

Europe has embraced her trademark "sprock" sound - equal parts soul, pop and rock - and it's about time her homeland follows suit. Her single with Ben Moody is fantastic, as is the video, which as any of you other Anastacia fans out there can attest, is a welcome relief for our gal, because in the past her videos have not lived up to the quality of her music. But this time is different, and it's obvious that Anastacia and her label are making a major push to finally get her the success in America that has inexplicably eluded her thus far.

I'll take Anastacia any day over Britney, Christina, Avril, Kelly or any of the other women that have dominated the airwaves the past few years. She's the real deal. Go buy "Anastacia" on August 30, and give a listen to songs like "Welcome To My Truth" or "Left Outside Alone" and tell me you don't agree.
