H. Jon Benjamin makes a crazy Kenny Loggins Kickstarter even crazier

Born in Everett, Washington, the American recording artist Kenneth Clark “Kenny” Loggins spent most of the 1980s creating music that became synonymous with the films they were featured in, like “Footloose” from Footloose or “Danger Zone” from Top Gun. He doesn’t really do this anymore, but he still makes music: This month, a Kickstarter for Loggins and his band, Blue Sky Riders, met its funding goal for a new studio album.

One of the reward milestones for supporters who would donate an undisclosed amount of more than $10,000 (the actual amount would vary based on logistics) was a private concert. Washington, D.C. resident Erick Sanchez really likes Kenny Loggins, enough to start his own Kickstarter to raise $30,000 to donate to Loggins Kickstarter in order to get Loggins and his band to fly to Washington and perform in Sanchez’s living room.

The American people, believing in Sanchez and the American Dream, fully funded Sanchez—so now, it’s up to Loggins to hold up his end of the deal.

But wait! There’s more!

Fans of the television show Archer know that lead character Sterling Archer, voiced by H. Jon Benjamin, has a thing for the classic Loggins love ballad “Danger Zone.” Benjamin, then, as the executor of Archer’s will on this mortal plane, started his own Kickstarter to raise funds for a trip to D.C. in order to introduce Loggins to the audience in Sanchez’s living room. He even spoke to The Village Voice about it.

Things may have gotten a little out of hand.

P.S. Once upon a time the cast of Archer spoke to EW at Comic-Con and it was quite funny.
