'True Blood' fans predict Bill's death. But what about Sookie's fate?

As True Blood fans prepare to say goodbye with the series finale airing Sunday (9 p.m. ET on HBO), most of them have chosen to accept Bill’s fate. According to a poll in EW‘s recap of the penultimate episode, 76 percent believe Hep-V infected Bill (Stephen Moyer) will get his wish and meet the true death before the hour is over. (By comparison, only 17 percent think Alexander Skarsgard’s healthy Eric will end the series in a pile of bloody goo. The risk for Kristin Bauer van Straten’s Pam rises to 37 percent. And as for Anna Paquin’s Sookie, whose home is presumably about to get swarmed by the Yakuza, only 25 percent expect her to bite it.)

A large factor in Bill’s choice not to drink the cure (the blood of Anna Camp’s Sarah Newlin) is his belief that Sookie (Anna Paquin) will never move on from him as long as he’s on the planet. Those poll results are more mixed: Roughly 54 percent believe Bill needs to get over himself—Sookie’s realized he’s her first love, not only love. Twenty-eight percent agree with Bill—she’d always compare every man to him. And 18 percent think the point is moot—Sookie shouldn’t have to move on because they’re meant to be together.

That leads nicely into the next question fans answered: Does Eric, who’s heard Bill say the two of them can only bring Sookie darkness and death, want to be with Sookie at this point? Sixty-five percent say yes, which means a lot of hearts could be broken if Sookie doesn’t end up with Mr. Northman.

As for the other will-they-won’t-they couple: With Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll) and Hoyt (Jim Parrack) back together as of last episode, most fans assume Jason (Ryan Kwanten) will get with Hoyt’s ex-girlfriend Brigette (Ashley Hinshaw), who has the look of Jason’s werepanther ex Crystal (Lindsay Pulsipher) and the heart of Jessica. But 28 percent would argue it’s too soon. Let’s remember that the season 6 finale spent the first half of the episode in the present then jumped ahead six months. Time for more polls…
