Stars of all ages came out to celebrate the 2014 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards held at USC’s Galen Center yesterday, and EW was on the scene at the iconic orange carpet to get the lowdown.

Celebrities like Bella Thorne and The Hunger Games‘ Willow Shields let us in on who they wanted to see get slimed, what their favorite Kids’ Choice Awards memory is, and more. Here’s what they had to say:

Willow Shields took a break from playing Katniss’ little sister Prim in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay to hit the orange carpet last night, and she had Austin Mahone in her sliming sights. “I think he’s just such a cool person and I think he’d have a hilarious reaction!” she said.

Disney Channel starlet Bella Thorne said the Kids’ Choice Awards is one of her favorites because “it brings out the child in everyone.” As for whom she wanted to see under the infamous green goo, the Shake It Up actress said, “I’d say Austin Mahone, but I’m really excited to see [host] Mark Wahlberg get slimed!”

Greer Grammer from MTV’s Awkward said there was a tie between Wahlberg and wrestler John Cena at the top of her slime wishlist. The WWE star got another vote when we later spoke to Degrassi star Luke Bilyk. “John Cena is just so muscular, he’d probably flex the slime right off of himself!” he said.

YouTube personality Todrick Hall, who opened the show, said that without a doubt he’d love to see Sam & Cat star/singer Ariana Grande get hit with some green stuff: “She’s such a princess in my eyes, and to watch her get slimed would be hilarious to me.”

Actor Josh Peck was one of the first big-name Nickelodeon alumni to hit the pre-show. He was a presenter for the night, handing out the first-ever Kids’ Choice Lifetime Achievement Award to Dan Schneider, the mind behind some of the most successful shows on the network. Though it had been a few years since he attended the awards, the Drake & Josh star said being back on the orange carpet with other Nick veterans felt like the greatest reunion episode ever. “I always sort of feel at home here and Nickelodeon’s really where I got my start, so I’m kind of indebted to them in the best way,” he said.

Peck also shared a few memories of his past Kids’ Choice Awards days, the greatest being the first time Drake & Josh won one of those coveted orange blimp statuettes. He even fondly recalled being slimed himself, which he deems a rite of passage. As for the next candidate for the green goop, the actor picked “Happy” singer Pharrell. “[Pharrell] would be so stylish!” Peck said. “He’d be, like, the first person ever to pull off slime!”

Also in attendance to help present the Lifetime Achievement Award was former iCarly star Nathan Cress, who explained that the whole thing came together just a few weeks ago, when Nickelodeon vets were invited to participate in a special presentation. As someone who has dealt with his fair share of slime, we made sure to ask Cress who should get hit next.

“Isn’t the whole thing that Mark Wahlberg is supposed to be un-slimable? So I guess that means we gotta get him!” said Cress. “If Katy Perry’s here though, I really hope she doesn’t get slimed, ’cause she got it good a couple of years ago and I think she needs a break.”

Our final interview of the evening was with former child star Tia Mowry, who’s gearing up to star in Nick at Nite’s new series, Instant Mom. Mowry, who first found success starring alongside her twin sister Tamera on Sister, Sister, says the Kids’ Choice Awards holds a special place in her heart.

“It’s so important to me to be here because the first time I realized that Sister, Sister was so successful was when I went to the Kids’ Choice Awards for the first time,” recalls Mowry. “I was maybe 16 and I remember walking through the crowd and thinking, oh my God, I’m not the only person who watches this show.”
