'American Idol' 2014: How'd the Top 10 do?

Tonight the Top 10 contestants could sing any Top 10 hit. Any hit! That’s, like, any J. Lo song. The possibilities were… finite.

Below is my ranking of the Top 10 after just a first listen. Leave your own ranking in the comments, and stay tuned for my full recap later on!

Set list: THE TOP 10 sing TOP 10 HITS

10. C.J. Harris, “Invisible” by Hunter Hayes
9. Dexter Roberts, “Cruise” by Florida Georgia Line
8. M.K. Nobilette, “Perfect” by Pink
7. Majesty Rose, “Wake Me Up” by Avicii
6. Sam Woolf, “We Are Young” by Fun.
5. Caleb Johnson, “The Edge of Glory” by Lady Gaga
4. Jena Irene, “Clarity” by Zedd featuring Foxes
3. Jessica Meuse, “Pumped Up Kicks” by Foster the People
2. Alex Preston, “The Story of My Life” by One Direction
1. Malaya Watson, “When I Was Your Man” by Bruno Mars

The top three could be shuffled around, probably. Caleb sounded too big for his song; Sam’s such a nice singer but I’m not feelin’ anything from him. Majesty looked terrified. Dexter’s still boring. M.K. [I just fell asleep]. And C.J. just didn’t sing the tune right at all.

How do you rank ‘em? Full recap to follow…. Update: It’s here!
