We’ve always wondered how many Emmy acceptance speeches go to waste each year. Most winners claim they were “unprepared” because they didn’t “expect to win,” but there are also the winners who take a piece of paper out of their pocket with their acceptance speech outlines. Better safe than sorry, right?

When it comes to this year’s Emmys, we only know of one wasted speech, and that belongs to Chuck Lorre, co-creator and executive producer of The Big Bang Theory.

After the Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series went to Modern Family (again), Lorre released a photo of “The Emmy Speech That Stayed in My Pocket.” It started with an all-caps “BREATHE! DON’T CRY!” Lorre then went on to thank the Academy, CBS’ Leslie Moonves and Tina Tassler, Warner Bros’ Peter Roth, and new showrunner Steve Molaro. And, of course, he couldn’t forget the “greatest cast, crew, writing staff ever.” Bob Newhart, who won his first Emmy for his guest role on Big Bang this year, also made the list, along with PR personnel Tammy Golihew and Susan Kesser.
