Is there anything Donald Glover can’t do?
The Community star, 30 Rock writer and Childish Gambino rapper (and, don’t forget, onetime Girls‘ boyfriend) tried his hand at writing a short film, Clapping For The Wrong Reasons, and the result is…. intriguing and disturbing? But in a good way.
It’s a day-in-the-life 25-minute exploration that Glover also stars in, and the quiet, somber tone is quite different than his role as Troy on Community. Directed by Hiro Murai, the film gets points for its extremely unexpected cast of characters, with everyone from Danielle Fishel (Yup, Topanga!) to Chance the Rapper and Trinidad Jame$ making an appearance.

Want more? Next up for Glover is his own half-hour comedy series on FX called Atlanta, which will center around the music scene of the city.
