Comic-Con 2013 schedule: See what's happening Saturday

Comic-Con is releasing its daily schedules over this long holiday weekend and the schedule for Saturday, July 20 has just come out. The day features panels on TV favorites like How I Met Your Mother (at the Con for the first time!), True Blood, and The Vampire Diaries as well as upcoming shows like Dracula and The Originals, and much more. Many of the major film panels are Saturday, including a look at the upcoming Hunger Games: Catching Fire, the Marvel panel, which will feature the Thor and Captain America sequels, and WB and Legendary’s panel featuring Godzilla, and Gravity.

You can see the full schedule here, but you can check out the TV and film highlights for Saturday below. San Diego Comic-Con runs July 17-21.

10a.m.-11a.m., Room 6A, A&E Bates MotelExecutive producers Carlton Cuse (Lost) and Kerry Ehrin (Friday Night Lights) will release new footage from the highly acclaimed A&E drama series Bates Motel exclusively for Comic Con attendees. The executive producers will be joined by the cast, including Academy Award nominee Vera Farmiga (Norma Bates), Freddie Highmore (Norman Bates), Max Thieriot (Dylan), Olivia Cooke (Emma), and Nestor Carbonell(Sheriff Alex Romero) to discuss the show’s unique backstory and creation. Fans will get an opportunity to hear more about season 2, debuting in 2014 on A&E, and will have a chance to ask the cast and creators questions during a Q&A. Moderated by Tim Stack from Entertainment Weekly.

10a.m.-11a.m, Room 29A, Behind the Creatures: Kirk R. Tatcher (Return of the Jedi, Gremlins, Star Trek IV, The Muppets) and Tony McVey (The Dark Crystal, Return of the Jedi, Gremlins, The Phantom Menace) relive their greatest behind-the-scenes stories from your favorite movies, including the Rancor that never was and Captain Kirk’s surprise. Moderated by Sean Murphy.

10a.m.-11a.m., Room 25ABC, Hasbro Studios: My Little Pony Friendship is MagicRepresentatives from Hasbro Studios and The Hub TV Network’s My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic share details of the making of the popular animated series and how the “friendship” and “magic” are brought to life. Also includes Q&A time.

10:15a.m.-11:15a.m., Ballroom 20, Once Upon a Time in Wonderland: Down the Rabbit Hole!: Co-creators and executive producers Edward Kitsis (Lost and Tron: Legacy) and Adam Horowitz (Lost and Tron: Legacy) introduce the world premiere screening of their newest series,Once Upon a Time in Wonderland. This strange new land takes you to the other side of the rabbit hole, where you’ll meet Alice, the Knave of Hearts, the White Rabbit and a host of other characters. Q&A as well as surprise guests will follow the screening. You won’t want to miss who shows up at this panel!

10:30a.m.-11:30a.m., Room 6BCF, Marvel Television Presents: It’s the biggest, most animated Marvel Television panel ever! Join Marvel’s head of television, Jeph Loeb, for the latest from inside Marvel Universe on Disney XD, including what’s next forMarvel’s Ultimate Spider-Man, a new episode of the hit series Marvel’s Avengers Assemble, and the world premiere of Marvel’s Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H.

10:45a.m.-1:15p.m., Hall H, Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures Preview: Legendary Pictures: Godzilla — An epic rebirth to Toho’s iconic Godzilla, this spectacular adventure pits the world’s most famous monster against malevolent creatures who, bolstered by humanity’s scientific arrogance, threaten our very existence. Gareth Edwards directs Godzilla,which stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ken Watanabe, Elizabeth Olsen, and Juliette Binoche, with David Strathairn and Bryan Cranston. The screenplay is by Max Borenstein, Frank Darabont, and Dave Callaham. Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni are producing with Mary Parent and Brian Rogers. Alex Garcia and Patricia Whitcher are the executive producers, alongside Yoshimitsu Banno and Kenji Okuhira. The film is from Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures.

Legendary Pictures: Seventh Son — The fantasy action adventure Seventh Son takes audiences to a time long past, where evil is about to be unleashed. Jeff Bridges stars as Master Gregory, a Falcon Knight who imprisoned the malevolently powerful witch Mother Malkin (Julianne Moore) years ago. Now escaped, she seeks vengeance, and Gregory has only until the next blood moon to train a new apprentice (Ben Barnes), the seventh son of a seventh son, to fight a dark magic unlike any other. Oscar nominee Sergei Bodrov directs an international cast that includes Alicia Vikander, Kit Harington, Olivia Williams, Antje Traue, and Djimon Hounsou. The film is from Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures.

Warner Bros. Pictures: 300: Rise of an Empire — From producer Zack Snyder, Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures present a new chapter in this epic saga, based on Frank Miller’s graphic novel Xerxes and told in the same breathtaking visual style as the blockbuster300. Directed by Noam Murro, 300: Rise of an Empire takes the action to a fresh battlefield-on the sea-with a cast of both new and returning stars, led by Sullivan Stapleton, Eva Green, Lena Headey, Hans Matheson, David Wenham, and Rodrigo Santoro. Gianni Nunnari, Mark Canton, Zack Snyder, Deborah Snyder, and Bernie Goldmann produce, with Zack Snyder and Kurt Johnstad again collaborating on the screenplay.

Warner Bros. Pictures: Gravity — From director Alfonso Cuarón comes the sci-fi Thriller Gravity, starring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney. Dr. Ryan Stone (Bullock) is a brilliant medical engineer on her first shuttle mission, alongside veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky (Clooney). On a seemingly routine spacewalk, disaster strikes, leaving them completely alone-tethered to nothing but each other and spiraling out into the blackness. The deafening silence tells them they have lost any link to Earth…and any chance for rescue. As fear turns to panic, every gulp of air eats away at what little oxygen is left. But the only way home may be to go further into the terrifying expanse of space.

Warner Bros. Pictures: The LEGO Movie — From directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller of 21 Jump Street comes the first ever full-length theatrical LEGO adventure, The LEGO Movie, about a perfectly average LEGO minifigure named Emmet who is mistakenly identified as the most extraordinary person and the key to saving the world. He is drafted into a fellowship of strangers on an epic quest to stop an evil tyrant, a journey for which he is hopelessly and hilariously underprepared. The original 3D computer animated story stars Chris Pratt, Will Ferrell, Elizabeth Banks, Will Arnett, Nick Offerman, and Alison Brie, with Liam Neeson and Morgan Freeman.

11a.m.-12p.m., Indigo Ballroom Hilton San Diego Bayfront, Geek and Sundry: Leveling Up: Felicia Day (The Guild, Supernatural) reveals her upcoming shows on the Geek and Sundry network and exciting new partnerships. Guests include Wil Wheaton (Big Bang Theory, Eureka) giving insights into the hit show TableTop; Amy Berg (Eureka, Leverage) and Adam de la Pena(Code Monkeys) sharing details about their upcoming shows; Amy and Sachie from G&S’s new vlogging channel talking comics and cosplay; and a few surprises!

11a.m.-12p.m., Room 7AB, Gravity Falls: Creator and executive producer Alex Hirsch (Grunkle Stan), creative director Michael Rianda, and series stars Jason Ritter (Dipper) and Kristin Schaal (Mabel) uncover the mysteries of Disney Channel’s hit series Gravity Falls. 5:15p.m.-6p.m., Ballroom 20, Arrow panel and Q&A: After failing to foil Malcolm Merlyn’s undertaking, Oliver Queen and team look to get back on track by crossing another name off the list: Comic-Con 2013. Arrow series stars Stephen Amell(Hung), Katie Cassidy (Melrose Place), David Ramsey (Dexter), Emily Bett Rickards (Flicka: Country Pride), and Colton Haynes (Teen Wolf) — with executive producers Greg Berlanti(Green Lantern), Marc Guggenheim (Eli Stone), and Andrew Kreisberg (Fringe)-will take aim at San Diego with a special video presentation and panel discussion previewing the show’s upcoming and much-buzzed-about second season, which will center on Oliver’s transformation from vigilante to hero. Arrow: The Complete First Season will be released on Blu-ray, DVD and UltraViolet on September 17. Based on characters appearing in comic books and graphic novels published by DC Comics, Arrow is from Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television. The series returns for a second season this fall, airing Wednesdays at 8/7c on The CW.

5:55p.m.-6:55p.m., Room 6BCF, The CW’s Tomorrow PeopleSure, teleporting into San Diego remedies many stresses associated with Comic-Con, and knowing fans’ questions before they are ever asked would certainly seem to give them a leg up, but that doesn’t mean The Tomorrow People are any less excited about their inaugural visit to the world’s premier fan convention. Series stars Robbie Amell (1600 Penn), Peyton List (Mad Men), and Mark Pellegrino (Lost), along with executive producers Greg Berlanti (Green Lantern), Phil Klemmer (Chuck), and Danny Cannon (Nikita), will be on hand for a special pilot screening, followed by a Q&A to discuss this story of several young people from around the world who represent the next stage in human evolution. From Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Berlanti Productions, FremantleMedia, Warner Bros. Television, and CBS Television Studios, The Tomorrow People will air Wednesdays at 9/8c on The CW this fall.

6p.m.-7p.m., Indigo Ballroom Hilton San Diego Bayfront, Cosmos: A SpaceTime Odyssey: More than three decades after the debut of Cosmos: A Personal Voyage, Carl Sagan’s stunning and iconic exploration of the universe as revealed by science, Cosmos: A SpaceTime Odysseysets off on a new voyage for the stars. Executive producer Seth MacFarlane (Family Guy, American Dad) and Sagan’s original collaborators have teamed to conceive a 13-part docu-series airing in 2014 on FOX. Renowned astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson joins writer/executive producer Ann Druyan and executive producer/director Brannon Braga (Star Trek franchise, 24) to debut an exclusive first look at the new “Ship of the Imagination,” followed by a Q&A.

6p.m.-7p.m., Hall H, Marvel Studios Thor: The Dark World and Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier: Marvel Studios president and producer Kevin Feige and many surprise guests provide an inside look at the ever-expanding Marvel cinematic universe.

7p.m.-8p.m., Room 6DE, StrikebackThe hit action series kicks off its third season with a panel featuring stars Philip Winchester(Crusoe), Sullivan Stapleton (300: Rise of An Empire), Dougray Scott (Desperate Housewives), newcomer Milauna Jackson (Blood Done Sign My Name), and co-executive producer/writer/director Michael J. Bassett (Silent Hill: Revelation 3D). The thriller follows stealth counterterrorism unit Section 20 as it spans the globe to stop potential threats, led by key operatives Michael Stonebridge and Damien Scott. In the upcoming season, the team uncovers a plot that threatens the West and pursues a deadly terrorist network with ties to powerful drug cartels, from South America to the Middle East and Europe.
