[Warning: Do not read if you haven't seen tonight's Once Upon a Time finale yet. Do we have a deal?]

In just a few hours, I’ll be posting my full recap of Once‘s second season finale, as well as my lengthy postmortem interview with series creators-slash-showrunners Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz. [UPDATE: Interview is here; recap is here.] But in the meantime, let’s discuss that closing doozy of a reveal: Onceland’s version of Peter Pan is a sinister child-napper who rules over Neverland with an iron fist and doubles as the guy who’s secretly been ordering second-level baddies Greg/Owen (a.k.a. Growen) and Tamara around all season. Oh, and apparently, he’s also tangled with Rumpelstiltskin before.

I’ve got to say, I’m very into this development. Once is at its best when it’s warping fairy tales (and other stories in the public domain) in innovative, unpredictable ways — think Red turning out to be the Big Bad Wolf, or Rumpel doubling as Captain Hook’s crocodile. Drafting mischievous Peter Pan as the show’s new Final Boss opens up a world of interesting possibilities… provided they cast the part well.

Which brings up my main question: Who do you think Once should select to play its wicked Boy Who Wouldn’t Grow Up? They’ve got to go with a youthful actor, obviously, though I can’t be alone in hoping that the show doesn’t cast an actual kid. Instead, I’d choose a teenager — or at least an actor who looks like one — with charisma to spare, as well as a credibly evil edge. The Perks of Being a Wallflower‘s Ezra Miller immediately comes to mind: He’s got the face of an angel, the screen presence of a major star, and enough inherent creepiness to play Tilda Swinton’s killer son in We Need to Talk About Kevin. As long as he’s also got a good British accent in his arsenal, he’d be perfect.

Could you hang with Miller as Pan? How do you feel about Peter being Growen and Tamara’s employer? And which other moments from the finale will you be dissecting obsessively until Once returns — Mulan, Aurora, and Phillip discovering a wounded Bae on the shores of Fairy Land? Peter’s main Lost One revealing that his boss has been searching for Henry for at least 100 years? Belle regaining her memory, only to lose Rumpel when he and the rest of Henry’s dysfunctional family head off to Neverland? Discuss below.
