'American Idol' 2013: Name your Top 4 Power List!

It’s hard to rank the all-very-deserving final four, as each has her own unique singing style. At this point the competition boils down to personal taste. I keep wondering how much sway the judges and their rampant standing Os really have. Last week they seemed to be gunning the hardest for Kree Harrison and Amber Holcomb — but both have now landed in the bottom two, while Angie Miller and Candice Glover haven’t.

My Power List is below — leave your own in the comments….

4. Amber Holcomb Last week’s “What Are You Doing For the Rest of Your Life” was staggeringly gorgeous, but according to song spoilers, tonight Amber’s singing “MacArthur Park” and “The Power of Love.” Yikes — aren’t those too dated and not in the good way? Still, I’m dying to hear the “Young Whitney” get up there on some Celine Dion high notes, as uninspiring as those choices may seem.

3. Kree Harrison “Kree-dom” (ugh) found herself in the bottom two last week — a big surprise. She’ll need to come up with some unprecedented energy on Susan Tedeschi’s “It Hurt So Bad” and some solid emotional connection on “Whiter Shade of Pale.” Her vocals are never the issue; to me the problem is that her performances often visually fall flat.

2. Angie Miller If spoilers are correct, Angie’s covering Jessie J’s “Who You Are” — a repeat from Hollywood Week, but we only saw part of that performance and the judges dug it. They love her at that piano! A well-known current song plus Angie’s rearrangement of Julie London’s jazzy “Cry Me a River” — sounds like an intriguing combination for her. She’s also still on a high from last week’s “Halo.”

1. Candice Glover The judges seem to think (without saying so outright) she doesn’t look commercial enough and that her sound is dated. Those are fine concerns from a production/management standpoint. But from a TV viewer’s perspective, I just don’t understand how Candice wouldn’t come out on top, every time. To me her vocals are miles stronger than the rest and she’s the most exciting to watch. And I’m into her choices: Drake’s “Find Your Love” and Destiny’s Child’s “Emotion.”

Chances are they’ll all get another week to prove themselves even further, by the way. The Judges’ Save is out of play, but expect a non-elimination week before the May 16 finale so Idol can end on time.

Your turn!
