First 5 minutes of 'BioShock Infinite' -- VIDEO

“Booker, are you afraid of God?

“No, I’m afraid of you.”

So begins BioShock Infinite.

The third installment in the revolutionary BioShock series is set – at last – for a March 26 release — until then, gamers will have to satiate themselves with footage of the first five minutes of gameplay.

The clip introduces us to the game’s protagonist, Booker DeWitt, who winds up exploring a spooky lighthouse off the coast of Maine in 1912. Inside, DeWitt discovers all kinds of portentous scripture verses — “Of thy sins shall I wash thee,” “From Sodom shall I lead thee” — along with the body of a torture victim and what appears to be a turn-of-the-century space shuttle. Crackling throughout is the traditional gospelĀ  “(Give Me That) Old-Time Religion” (the first two games are noted for their period-appropriate soundtracks).

BioShock Infinite cleaned up at the E3 gaming conference in 2011, winning “Best of Show,” “Best Original Game,” “Best PC Game,” and “Best Action/Adventure Game.” I think it’s safe to say that it’s going to be a hit.
