Joe Scarborough reverses his stance on gun control -- VIDEO

MSNBC host Joe Scarborough has always been an advocate for the right to bear arms. On today’s Morning Joe, the former Republican Congressman himself noted that he “received the NRA’s highest ratings over four terms in Congress.” But the horror in Newtown has caused Scarborough to rethink his views on gun control.

As he explains in an impassioned 10-minute monologue, he used to view the gun debate as a question of individual rights versus government control; post-Newtown, he considers it a matter of public safety. Scarborough also takes time in his monologue to excoriate the prevalence of violent images in pop culture — in addition to decrying gun lobbyists, he also explains that “Entertainment moguls don’t have an absolute right to glorify murder.”

It’s an interesting speech that’s the opposite of fire-breathing — watch the video below.
